It's a smaller shop, it can get crowded inside! But overall it was a good experience. We were helped immediately after coming inside.

We've been in the area vacationing for a few days -Rehoboth, Bethany, Fenwick, Lewes, etc -and it seems that every time we turn a corner we see the kaleidoscopically splendor a Candy Kitchen Shoppes colorful storefront. Now I know why -- it seems there are 23 of them spread around in this neck of the woods. Their color scheme is gorgeous with eye popping pastel blues, pinks, oranges, reds and yellows. The store's interior is just as eye pleasingly gorgeous. We picked up two amazing chocolate candy coated pretzels and a small box of chocolate toffee squares at decent prices. If you're ever near the Delaware beaches, you can't miss one of their stores, and you will enjoy picking up a few sweet treats, trust me on that. read more

Update: We went to Candy Kitchen on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk last week and I asked about allergens. They looked at me blankly, then said they can't give out any information like that because they can't be responsible for cross-contamination. Many of their packages don't have ingredients listed, either. I've rarely been to a store or restaurant that flatly refused to even try to work with me on this. I am warming up to the candy kitchen. Their creamsicle fudge is delish and their walnut nougat is great. That being said, they have more outposts in the Ocean City/Bethany Beach/Rehoboth Beach area than Starbucks has in Manhattan. Doesn't give you the mom and pop vibe that the web site tries to convey. They have a huge selection of gourmet chocolate and gummy candy. One caveat is that you have to buy fudge by the quarter pound and can't mix and match. Good selection of gummies and chocolates. Gummies are sold by the 1/4 lb- were were able to choose 3 varieties per 1/4 lb which as nice so I could mix things up. Chocolate peanut butter covered Oreos were also good, as were chocolate covered Grahams and pretzels with m&ms. We wanted to get some regular gum, but they only had gum balls. Also had some cute toys and stuffed animals, nice Pez selection. Kids enjoyed their time there. read more

There is quite a selection of candy here. Different chocolate covered items, fudges, nuts, etc. It's quite expensive as one would expect for the location, but at the same time I would also expect high quality product. Unfortunately, my family was not as happy as we would have liked. We ordered the death by chocolate pretzel, m&m pretzel, and chocolate covered oreos. In the end,they all kind is tasted the same. The chocolate ratio was too high and the other flavors got lost. I think the sugar was also too much ad well. Total price was $11-ish dollars. The shop is cool inside. They let you Taste any candy you want before you buy it. The chocolate covered strawberries are the best I've ever had. It's way better than the Lindt chocolate covered strawberry. read more

I am not one to pass up chance to hit a candy store. Candy Kitchen has a good selection of gummies and chocolate at decent prices for a candy store. However it's not self-serve which really annoys me. I got a few turtles which were really good. I also got some gummies and as I was ordering, the girl told me there was a 1/4 lb minimum. Ok, that's fine. Then she said I could only have three different kinds in my bag. What?! What does it matter? They're all the same price! The obvious advantage of bin candy is that you get to have a few of a lot of different candies. So, this is not my favorite candy store but it still satisfies my sweet tooth. read more
