Candy Kitchen is more of a 'Candy Pantry'. I don't think anything is made in house (at least not by taste), though it is fully stocked up on all sorts of gummies, fudge, taffy, and stuffed animals of various types. It's a fantastic place to practice telling your toddler 'no.' I can't begin to tell you how many reps we got in, while still absolutely spoiling him. On the 'wanting to be here' spectrum, kids definitely occupy the top tier. From the 3 ft high perspective, it is thrilling. So many toys and so much candy and chocolate stacked and sorted wall to wall. Next, after skipping a tier or two, are the parents. We unfortunately can read prices and, if we wanted to, nutrition information. Both of those sort of spoil the fun. Dead last, another tier down, are the teenaged staff (with a few exceptions though). Not sure what happened - if they aren't making their own candy anymore or if the business changed hands or what , Every year since about 1975 when I'm leaving ocean city I buy a box of almond crunch toffee and a box of coconut clusters to take home . It has always been the same and very good until this year . The chocolate tastes different , less quality and a little waxy . The almond crunch was completely different . Instead of pieces of toffee broken , dipped in chocolate then rolled in nuts ..it is now a very thick piece of toffee coated in chocolate with almond pieces thrown on top . No almonds on bottom . Too much toffee . Why change something that has ben thr same and great for decades ? So disappointing. read more

Candy kitchen really takes me back to when I was a young child and when we took our children there every year. I stopped in this location while headed home. We were the only people in the store and we were promptly greeted by several employees. Wow, can't get luckier than that! The store was so fun!! They has soooo many stuffed animals and a huge candy selection. I ordered an assortment of salt water taffy and peanut butter fudge. They are sooo delicious. They did charge me incorrectly, but fixed it right away. Overall it was a nice little candy shop that I hope to visit again. read more

Walked to the Fenwick location where I had purchased fudge before, this day was extremely cold and I arrived to closed doors , even though they were to open at 10am. As I waited for them to open, 2 people were working behind the counter, I knocked to make sure they knew I was waiting, they signaled one moment. Almost 10 more minutes go buy and I'm freezing in 17% weather. I finally left, terrible customer service. I'll spend my $ 40. else where, I really wanted that fudge on sale but not under those circumstances. read more

53rd street location horrible old caucasian lady who was rude and racist. Can I help you? Said in a snotty voice and if you do the math it's broken down for you. I guess they don't like customers asking questions. They charge you 27$ a pound for candy listed at 24.99$. There are plenty of locations I won't be going back there again. An issue with the register took 3 employees to try and resolve. Not my fault you don't know how to work a register one of which was presumably the entitled rude manager. read more

Good fudge. The service was fine, other reviewers must have just got the wrong person. Prices were standard for what I have encountered. Parking lot a bit hard to get out of so be mindful of that. Decent supply considering I came in September which is sometimes considered off season. read more

Just like service what else can you say? We waited at this location to be served an order of fudge and others who walked in after us received service from the staff here first. They were rude to their customers, and we debated walking out to give someone else our business. Edited to add, staff were goofing off and laughing and chatting while we stood at the counter. Honestly, just buy the dark chocolate covered caramel with a sprinkling of sea salt. I am ashamed to admit that I came back almost every day on my vacation last Summer. While I waited to be helped with only one other customer in the store. The 2 cashiers where just talking and laughing not helping. After waiting they finally came to me to get my order. While they where packing my fudge they talked the whole time to one another and not a single word to me or any other customer! They are super slow and very rude !!! Sign on the door said max 10 people due to covid, but I guess they quit bothering since there were more like 20 in the store. No indication where the lines were, so customers just winged it. Service was decently fast, but on the rude and condescending side. Counter lady asked me twice, incredulously, "You don't know where your wife is?" Candy Kitchen has been making their signature salt water taffy and fudge and selling assorted candies since 1937! IMO they have some of the best salt water taffy around..especially their "Assorted Long" version. Their signature fudges are very good..peanut butter/chocolate, mint/chocolate, cookies & creme, etc. but I've had better on the boardwalk. Candy Kitchens are worth a stop to satisfy all of your sweet tooth desires. Enjoy! read more

Extremely disappointed with the customer service at this store and will never shop at ANY Candy Kitchen again! I bought two saltwater taffy boxes and exited the store. I re-entered the store two minutes later when I noticed the "buy three get one free" special. I asked if I could go ahead and purchase the third box to get the special and they refused to honor that. Then I asked if I could return the two boxes I just purchased and the took my receipt and credit card and then return them to me and informed me they honor returns!! The "manager" was useless and did a great job in confirming that, beyond being absurdly expensive, Candy Kitchen doesn't care about their customers. read more

A solid selection of candies. I was with a group of 6 people and we all got something different and then shared what we had. Everything was of a good quality and decently priced.
