Snyder's is now one of my favorites to order candy to San Francisco! My large order of Swedish candies & chocolate covered gummy bears arrived within one week and in pristine condition despite it being warm outside. I was worried when the mailman handed me a hot box (due to warm weather) but every item was so well packaged, there were no damages. I sent an email to support after placing my order and not receiving a confirmation or shipping notice. To my delight, Greg Kalinsky, the owner, personally replied and assured me I would have my treats by the end of the week. Thanks, Greg! Nostalgia, mostly, but this is a pretty good place. It's at the beach, so of course you're going to be paying a lot for candy, but they have a great selection of candy and toys and such and I definitely prefer this little store over the big chain ones. Emphasis on little -- this place is CRAMPED. If there's more than a handful of people in there you'll be tripping over someone at every turn. Their best-kept secret is their ice -- just $1 for crunchy ice that you can get in four or five flavors. It's not really the kind you'd get at the water ice store, more like ice flakes with the flavor on top, but it's a nice little treat. read more

I had read that their salt water taffy was made there. Not the case. Some of it is made FOR their particular store. Some of it is not made for them and mass produced. You need to ask and choose carefully. I would recommend when making your selections, make sure to put your mint flavors e.g. wintergreen, peppermint, in a separate bag so they don't infiltrate your fruit taffy. The store has a nice array of chocolate truffles and other chocolate things in the glass case but in August I couldn't risk transporting chocolate home. Make sure you get the Rehoboth visitor's book and rip out the 10 percent coupon printed on a tiny square. I felt so dumb I didn't have the coupon. I felt a little ripped off that I didn't have the magic coupon. I probably should have said, can you hold my order and I'll go get a coupon. But ... meh. Don't forget your coupon. Go get some taffy. and if you can, do not take children with you or you will fall prey to the stuffed animals strategically placed at kid level. read more

I was looking for taffy today and came across Snyder's. I saw that they sold taffies individually, which is exactly what I was looking for. From my previous beach experiences along the East coast boardwalks, I have had chain store taffy that is just average and basic. I expected this taffy to be similarly simple, but when I tried it I was shocked at how delicious it was. I was so glad I got many flavors to try because they were all unique, excellent, and robustly flavorful. I would recommend trying Snyder's over the other chain stores in the area for taffy, you will not be disappointed. The prices were reasonable as well and were lower than I expected. read more

My experience here was horrendous. I came in order to purchase my sons favorite gummy bears. Upon arrival I noticed that they had two different types of them and I wanted to see which was the one he liked. I opened the box and proceeded to use the scooper and take 1 gummy bear. Before I was even finished taking it the owner ran over and with a extremely disrespectful and disgusting tone told me that I was leaving the store now. I asked him why and he did not answer me and proceeded to use his tone and tell me that I needed to leave the store. I told him that I was just trying the two pieces of candy. He proceeded to say "goodbye" in the most disgusting tone and showed me the door all within about 45 seconds of arriving in the store. read more

We LOVE this candy store. I am a BIG fan of supporting the smaller companies. The owner is a nice guy. We have been going to this candy store for MANY years. I like the atmosphere a lot better. If you are a dark chocolate lover you can't go wrong with Snyder's Candy. When it comes to taffy, you can choose your own flavors and it's the best on the beach. But my main reason for this post is because I'm a ginger lover and they sell a dark chocolate covered ginger that has to be one of the candies I've ever eaten. You can order on-line or stop in at Rehoboth Beach. But you don't want to pass this place. For the best taffy, best chocolates and for some old candies from the past this is the place to go. I also need to mention that I buy the Licorice Caramels from there for my mom and she always tells me she loves them, and of course would like more! We LOVE Snyder's Candy! It is always one of our top stops when we visit Rehoboth Beach. We have 3 kids and they absolutely love shopping at Snyder's. They have a great selection of gummy candy, some we've never seen anywhere else, as well as stuffed animals and other great items. I love the Maple Bacon Taffy.
