This candy store is in the heart of Rehoboth Ave. Very spacious candy spot with many different types of sweets for all tastes! I never bought anything from here but there is always people in here. I mean who doesn't like candy and sweets right?! In the off season it is not as busy as in the summer time but that is like most places in the area. I know this is an enormous chain in the area, and I'm sure plenty of people have great loyalty to it. But as someone not from the area who was craving something sweet this candy kitchen was the only option. They obviously have dominated any even potential competition because they are such a massive chain. So with that said I'll follow up by saying that the candy tastes like and seemingly has the quality of a massive chain. I definitely will not be going back. There's no doubt about it, and you can tell that the people who work there just want the day to be over which doesn't give me great confidence about the cleanliness and my sense of security with how they sanitize their hands before even putting on gloves if they even do that when serving. I definitely will never be going back. To be honest with the prices you're gonna get better at the CVS Walgreens or any other local drugstore. read more

the candy is messy and not that good for the price and just about all the workers are rude and lazy.

I stopped by here for something sweet before heading to the beach. They had a pretty good selection of candy. I got some peppermint chocolate and white chocolate which were both great. The employees working here helpful and gave me some suggestions on what to get. read more

I'm not coming back to candy kitchen ever again. Every time I'm here, the line is always so long and what's worst is that they don't have a line system and the salespeople are so inefficient. My friend and I were standing in what we thought was a line for 5 minutes and were not being helped, and, the best part was, the store was empty! Then out of no where, the store gets flooded by beach goers, swarming to the cash register. And the sales lady starts taking their orders, meanwhile my friend and I were obviously there before and should have been helped first, but the sales people took no notice, and when we brought it to their attention, a salesman rolled his eyes at me as if I was being unreasonable. I almost walked out of there. We were in candy kitchen literally for 25 minutes, trying to get a pound of candy while the rest of my friends waited for us. I thought this would be a quick stop, but I was so wrong. Never have I ever had to wait so long to buy candy. read more

The fudge was good but so sweet. This is the first candy kitchen I've been in and I think it is more for kids than adults. That may be obvious to people who know this chain or the area but not me. We also got some chocolates that were very sweet. Service was fine, nothing special, the store was very clean. If you're someone who likes more of a balance than pure sugar than this place isn't for you. read more

Good candy. Good fudge. Service is simply awful at all their locations. And don't try asking for anything special--like no watermelon when you order the candy fruit slices. Compounding the service problems are customers who can't order and don't take into account there are 10 people behind them waiting. It's a tourist trap, pure and simple. The place is lit like an operating room as well as smells like one. The candy is sub par for the price, and I waited almost 15 minutes for them to scoop some candy. I was almost overcharged, until I mentioned the price I saw on the board in which the employee quickly fixed his mistake. While I ate the taffy I ordered. Like most people, I visited while on vacation in Rehoboth. Naturally, a very touristy spot, but it's fun- colorful and lively. The kids will make a beeline right for the place. The fudge was delicious as was the other specialty candy they had on display. I also picked up some taffy that was soft and tasty, too. If you like candy, pop in. I saw one location right on the boardwalk, one a few blocks inland, and one on the way to the beach by the outlet stores. My mother-in-law asked us to see if they still had her favorite candy from childhood-and they did. You can just tell from the exterior design that the Candy Kitchen has been around a long time. Fudge is good! The service has to be the worst i have ever came across. Older women got upset because we asked for half a pound of chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge, she gave us a half pound total. We simply said we we wanted half pound of each and she got an attitude instantly. Then when we were paying she said follow the on screen prompt we said the screen says welcome, she was snappy and said "did you press the green button!?". After pressing the green button and nothing changed she snatched the reader around and realized she did not prompt the payment and instead of apologizing for her mistake she just said "press the green button" after promoting it. This is not the service you want on a simple vacation to a candy shop. read more

My family and I are long time customers of Cany Kitchen in Rehoboth, but sadly I think our tradition of taking the kids there for candy is coming to an end due to an apparent change in store policy. On two separate occasions, we've attempted to purchase assorted "pay by weight" candy only to be told that our selections were limited to three choices. Our first reaction was to think that the staff were joking with us. But no, they were serious. We told them that this policy didn't make any sense because we wanted to purchase more candy than we had already selected and this new policy would result in the store selling less candy than customers want. The staff told us the policy was the policy and that we were limited to the candy we had already selected. I thought this policy may be due to their need to help other customers, but on neither of our visits was anyone else in the store. When we asked to speak to the manager on duty, he couldn't give us any coherent explanation of why the policy existed or what it's point was. He simply said, "it's the policy" I can't sell you any more than three different items. He also said that this has always been their policy, but my family and I had never been subjected to this before this summer. Equally as troubling to us as the actual policy was the way the staff was so short with us and their unwillingness to use common sense (a customer was asking to buy more product and the employees weren't willing to realize it didn't make sense to limit the store's sales). I can't help but think lots of other long time customers will end up being similarly put off by Candy Kitchen's new "old" policy. read more

Went there for the second time ever a few days ago. The reason I'm giving three stars and not one is because the candy there is not disappointing (except for the m&m bark). During this visit, I SPECIFICALLY asked for a 1/4 pound of dark chocolate covered oreos--which are my favorite thing ever. The woman behind the counter put them in the bag and weighed them, I then tore my eyes away from the bag of oreos for a brief moment, and when I looked back, she had already started ringing me up and had placed the individual bags of candy into a plastic bag. I very naïvely took the bag from her without checking to see if it contained all I had asked for, then proceeded to pay. It was only on my drive back when I was looking forward to my oreos that I ripped open the bag and found that she had put everything in there EXCEPT for my FAVORITE thing (the oreos). If I didn't like 4.5 hours away, I would have called or returned to say something, which is why i'm writing this review. read more
