Extremely supportive and caring management. They went far above and beyond any reasonable expectations and saved me when I was in a pinch.

We weren't quite sure where to enter from the back parking lot, but we saw a "Wine Tasting This Way" sign that led us through an area being set up for a wedding...whoops! Not sure if the sign had been moved or simply hadn't been moved for the wedding. Once we made our way to the tasting area, it was extremely busy and we had no idea where or how to check in. We eventually asked someone who came up to the register to check out another guest, and they promptly got us checked in. The tasting itself was nice, we tasted about 20 diff wines, and we had a lovely girl serving us. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was as first time visitors, we weren't given any info about how the tasting experience worked. It took about an hour and a half, and we didn't receive the advertised tour that was included. After the tasting, we were ready to purchase some wine and waited behind another couple who was checking out. However, no one ever acknowledged us or came over to help us check out. I think this place is probably great, but the disorganized check-in, lack of clear signage, and inattentive staff made the experience more difficult. As first time visitors, we would have loved a little more guidance.

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

Seriously, they're some of the best I've had. Crispy, juicy, and just the right balance of heat and sweet. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the people. Chelsea behind the bar always takes great care of me, and Joe has built the kind of neighborhood place where you can tell the staff actually enjoys being there. Matt, Cookie, and Aiden have all been awesome too, and everyone else I've met has been just as friendly. It's one of those places where you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. I ordered through Uber, but I will definitely be a return customer! I tried the Full Pork Belly…read morePlate, which came with generous pieces of crispy lechon kawali, flavorful smoked pork belly, and crunchy chicharron crisps. It also included a small bowl's worth of jasmine rice topped plus three sauces on the side. My favorite was the sesame with sweet chile sauce, while I passed on the spicy vinegar and mango habanero sauces given my low tolerance for spice. Even after a 15-minute delivery drive, everything was still warm and crispy, which is not always the case with takeout. I am already excited to order again and try the chicken adobo, along with a few of their tacos!

A Heartwarming Backstory, A Heartbreaking Meal…read more I really, truly wanted to love Adobo. If you know the history of this place, you know it's built on a foundation of incredible resilience. The owner's journey, surviving a devastating motorcycle accident, overcoming a traumatic brain injury, and cashing out his 401k to build a culinary dream from his grandmother's recipes is the kind of triumph over tragedy that makes you want to root for them with everything you have. I have the utmost respect for the hustle and the accolades this restaurant has gathered over the years. Unfortunately, you can't eat a good backstory. We stopped in for lunch, hopeful to taste the award-winning food we'd heard so much about. Ordering is done via an automated kiosk, which is fine, but it quickly became our first hurdle. We had signed up for their loyalty program and earned a free breakfast burrito. Spoiler alert: the system charged us for it anyway. We called over the hostess, who politely explained she was new and didn't know how to fix it. We decided to just delete the item and move on, figuring we'd save it for next time. (There will not be a next time). Let's start with the positives. The Locos Limeade was... fine. The Smoked Carnitas Taco, the one that famously won the 2018 Top Taco competition was alright. It was somewhat tasty, but certainly nothing you'd purposely drive across city lines for. If I'm going out of my way for a taco, I want my tastebuds to sing, not just hum a polite tune. Things took a steep nosedive with the "Fresh" Hatch Green Chili. For $16, I received what might geographically be the smallest bowl of chili in recorded history. But the size wasn't the real tragedy; the flavor was. The green chili tasted distinctly like it had just been liberated from a grocery store jar, and it was topped with deep-fried potato cubes that were so aggressively oversalted I briefly worried about my blood pressure. It was so disappointing that I actually took it back and traded it in. I swapped the chili for the Chicken Pancit, which only unlocked a new mystery: The Case of the Misplaced Teriyaki. Our party had actually ordered a bowl of the pancit earlier in the meal. That first bowl was incredibly bland, just thin, translucent noodles topped with chicken that tasted inexplicably like it had been marinated in teriyaki sauce. But the replacement bowl I got for the chili? It arrived absolutely drenched in so much teriyaki sauce that it was wretchedly salty and completely inedible. If I wanted chicken teriyaki, I would have gone to a mall food court. As for the service, the hostess who dropped off my replacement sodium-bomb was never seen in a working capacity again. She promptly went to sit at the bar with someone who appeared to be the owner/chef. There was no follow-up, no "how is everything tasting?" just us, staring at our inedible noodles. When the bill comes out to over $50 for a casual lunch, you expect a certain baseline of quality. We have absolutely no problem paying good money for great food and great service, but this was a culinary catastrophe. Frankly, a trip to Taco Bell would have yielded a higher quality meal. I applaud the owner's inspiring life story, his consulting work with Craig Hospital, and the magic that allowed this brand to feed Metallica and cater Stanley Cup celebrations. But based on our lunch, that magic has completely left the building. We will not be back.

Not a big deal, I was just thinking not everyone wants a whole and if someone is extra hungry they can take two halves. Just thought it would make things a tad easier. They tell me no. They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. I needed to get to work and I wasn't wanting to wait an entire hour and they just wasted 20 minutes of my time not prepping anything, so I decided not to go with the burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. It would have been SOOOOO simple to make the burritos and quick run the knife through them. But, no, the choice was to do nothing for almost a half hour, to refuse to run a knife through them as asked, and then lecture a customer for coming in to order 20 items. It's not like I asked for 100. What if 10 customers came in and each ordered 2? Can you do that? Do they get lectured, too, or...? See ya.

This is a timed, coursed dinner where the entire room sits and eats together, so arriving on time is essential. The format creates a restaurant wide dinner party feel, which sets the tone for the night. Everything feels intentional, from the pacing to the service to the design of the space. The menu changes often and is never repeated, which makes the experience feel special and creative rather than formulaic. Standout dishes for me included the duck doughnut, the wood ear French toast, the venison burger, and the leek cappuccino. The kanpachi crudo and scallop with tamarind were also beautifully balanced, and desserts like Cash's Apple and The Sphere were thoughtful finishes rather than an afterthought. One of the more memorable details was the menu book at the end of the night, featuring the chef's original sketches of the dishes. It's a small touch that really reinforces how personal and considered the experience is. If you're looking for a unique, chef driven tasting experience that feels cohesive and well executed, this is absolutely worth a reservation.

There was a cute booklet at the end with sketches of the dishes. It was a little annoying that they wouldn't do separate checks for us since only one of us got the wine pairing.
