If you have kids who still believe in Santa and if you don't mind getting bundled up and walking a bit, this is a great place for you to take your family to see some very nice Christmas lights. Leading up to Christmas, they have an area at the end of the cul de sac where kids can meet Santa to talk about their Christmas wishes. They block off the street so you can feel comfortable about walking around. The street area is dark (they turn off the street lights so you can get the full effect of the Christmas lights) so watch your step or bring a small flashlight for those tricky curbs. Expect to take at least 30 minutes, longer if your kids like to stare and point and tell you about their favorite characters who are placed throughout the displays. This was sooo much fun! The boyfriend and I brought my friends little boy here to give his parents some free time to unpack some items. Its located in a coldasack which makes it nice and easy to block off and allow the kids to walk around the neighborhood without any fears for cars. I love anything Christmas...lights, decorations, and tinsel. Candy Cane Lane definitely gave me all of that wrapped in a pretty package. This nice cul-de-sac in El Segundo was transformed into a festive, winter wonderland. Each house was elaborately decorated in its Christmas best, within its own theme. At the end of the cul-de-sac was Santa's sleigh. It made a cool photo backdrop. The best part of the Lane was the neighborhood Jazz band playing Christmas tunes. Both kids and adults were dancing in the street. I loved it! Parking isn't too bad. Just find a spot wherever you can, and walk the Lane. Although we visited here after the season was just over and people were starting to pull out the bins to put away their Christmas decor, one can tell that this street is nicely lit during the holidays. I especially liked the plaque at the end of the street which let you know you were in the right place. Although not as big as sleepy hollow (which is more Disneyland sized when compared to this small street). However for being in our neck of the woods this was such a cute little discovery. read more

There's Christmas spirit of all kinds for anyone in the family! Scenes of Charlie Brown to the Elf movie projected on a window! My favorite house is the one with the penguins roasting marshmallows by the fire, these people actually parked a VW in their yard! Very creative. Each house goes above and beyond to cover every inch in lights and decoration. It's a walking tour, no sleigh ride or bikes. Most families I saw pulled their kids along in wagons. Cult de sac is not very long so it's perfect to capture a couple houses in one shot! Suggestions for the Neighborhood: Wish they would hand out candy canes or have a hot cocoa station! Perhaps a week where each house did something a different each night! I would love to see a Facebook page of someone doing a time lapse of decorating their house! read more

This was our 1st Yr going, I took my God daughter to see the lights. We got there around 9 PM and we went on a Wednesday (Suppodsely it was the "last" day according to other yelpers), so i had to make sure we went. When you arrive: parking is kind of tricky but we found a spot not to far away and within a reasonable time( You will have to walk regardless it sits on a cul-de-sac & you can't drive through). There are a few blocks with lights before getting to candy cane lane they are nice to but candy cane lane is where it's at! Lol ALL of the houses are decorated with a massive amount of decor and lights they also have a santa in a sleigh towards the end. This is great for kids or couples as a night out, we loved it and plan on making it a thing we do yearly! read more

Candy cane lane was different not every home had lights or Christmas fixtures it was about 2 blocks of homes walking distance you have to park down the street and get off of your car the street is closed down during the evening child appropriate I do recommend to stop by your local coffee shop and grab a cup before coming it cold outside there a home that sell popcorn out of there home and is not free and there is another home that gives out small candy cane mints to children and adults pet friendly best time to go during the week vs. weekend too much foot traffic and everyone stops to pose for photos so make sure you wear warm clothing and comfy shoes read more

We were looking for interesting places in Los Angeles to look at Christmas lights this year. I've heard about that neighborhood near Pasadena/Arcadia, but that was a little further than we typically like to drive. After some online research we came across a few sites that mention Candy Cane Lane. Candy Cane Lane is a festive neighborhood block area located in El Segundo. We came here on Christmas Eve night which I imagine is the busiest time and it wasn't that bad of a crowd at all! We found parking about a block away and began our journey. Our strategy was to walk on one side of the street on the way in; then the other side of the street on the way back! There are many cool houses with awesome themes as you lead up to the main "Candy Cane Lane" area. Once you arrive at the main area you'll known because the street will be completely blocked off for pedestrians only! We took lots of photos and videos Christmas Eve night and we finished in about 30m. Highly recommend this festive area during the holiday season! read more

Who doesn't love Xmas. Heard of this place and had to see it for myself. Very crowded and be ready to walk to get to this place. But once you arrive, it brings a smile to your face. People are all friendly and all the children are so happy. At the end of the block u will be greater by a santa and you can take pics with him for a donation. What a great place to come and look at lights. Parking is free, but limited. There is only street parking, so u may endup parking far. But its ok, because the walking is fun and you get to enjoy the scenery. Some of the neighborhood give out candy canes, popcorn and hot chocolate. Make sure to dress warm, because it can get cold. Being that the beach is about 2-5 miles away. Christmas is never over! A few friends of mine were in town for a layover, and they wanted to hang out for a bit before their flight. We were eating at The Point, and still had some time left before they needed to check in. I wasn't sure were to take them since going anywhere in LA is just disastrous on a weekend. Browse through Yelp to see if there was any good bars nearby, and this place popped up! I wasn't sure if there was still any lights up since it's been weeks past Christmas, but thank goodness people are Christmas obsessed, they were. I've never been here so didn't know what to expect. We were lucky to find a parking spot right in the neighborhood. It was a small quaint neighborhood. There were def'ly some interesting and creative decorations. Good spot to take your kids, or date, or friends who just wanna keep on living Christmas. Pretty awesome layout and nothing commercial about it. Love that the street is blocked off, yet you can park a few blocks away and walk. It must be mandatory to participate if you live on that street. It's cool that you can walk it, the crowds are big, but the decorations are impressive. Honestly Candy Cane Lane is not worth going to if you don't live close by. We drove almost 40 minutes and were not impressed by the decorations. If you've ever driven down Los Feliz around this time of year you'll understand why. The only house that caught my attention was one with a complete train track on the lawn. All the rest were just meh ~ I could've just walked up and down Hancock Park and seen the same decor. There was a Santa Claus at the end of the block but I mean why not just go to the Grove or Americana and get better lighting? I decided to take the trek over here after hearing the buzz this year. (Should I keep rhymin?) I definitely should've yelped it before hand.. :( Candy Cane Lane is a cul-de-sac that is closed to vehicle traffic and there is an insane amount of vehicle traffic. Due to these unforeseen conditions we decided to admire it from the car. Though now I regret not taking it all in. Best advice I have is be prepared to sit in your car for 30 minutes on any of the surrounding streets while looking for a place to park or park a bit further away and walk. Take the family and make a night of it, all the kids out there were crapping themselves with excitement. That particular cul-de-sac is where the action is centered but the neighborhood has a lot of other nice displays as you creep up to the main event. PSA - There are A LOT of people walking in the streets, getting in and out of their cars, most with young children and strollers... Drive careful. read more

late review, since christmas is long gone. this is a cute little street where the home owners have decided to light up for the holidays. obviously don't go on the weekend or night right before christmas - it is super crowded and parking can be a nightmare. it can be a little hard to find - it starts on Acacia and Center street in el segundo. at the end of the cul-de-sac of acacia is a sleigh and you can find santa there a few days before christmas. it's fun though, and the decorations and themes are pretty fun and elaborate. bring hot chocolate, dress warm and be prepared to stroll. it's a really nice display by these families. read more

Great to visit around the holidays of course Christmas but since it's in an actual neighborhood parking is very limited I at least spent over 20 minutes driving around searching for parking. So I'd suggest going the beginning of December right after Thanksgiving. read more
