My heart is in El Segundo for many reasons, one of them being this little Candy Cane Lane that pops up over the holidays. Talk about cute! Love walking down this block of lights with carolers and a Santa sleigh at the end of the street. If you have also visited Sleepy Hollow this is much more short and sweet and I prefer it because it's in my backyard and my kids don't get tired of the lights because it's just the right amount. Parking is plentiful and holiday spirit is everywhere! Visit annually! read more

Went on a Sunday evening. Parked a couple blocks away and walked in to the main area. Houses are decorated really nicely. Crowds were not bad. A lot of folks in the surrounding neighborhood decorate their homes. So it's a nice area to walk around. Get your daily steps and get into the Christmas mood! read more

Last night I came here with my mom to see some Christmas lights. It was a very festive atmosphere where everyone was in the Christmas spirit. This was my first time coming here because it was the first time I heard of its existence...which is crazy since I've lived in the South Bay all my life. My mom suggested we go look at some Christmas lights, I saw one of my friends check in here so I looked it up, saw the great reviews, and came down here. We stopped at Starbucks before coming because Starbucks makes it even more fun! It's great for kids because Santa is there and also it's not too long. I was only there for about 20 minutes but I enjoyed my time there. I would've had better pics if my phone wasn't dying. read more

I love candy cane lane so one time I went to candy cane lane and it was beautiful and cool how they do all the lighting and some of them are cute and funny. But the bad thing is that there is a lot of people there so it's hard to find parking and it's a very easy place to get lost at. But I do recommend you going to candy cane lane. read more

Great little road to bring your family running up to Xmas! I'm lucky I live in walking distance from this cute neighbourhood. I went to the opening night last year which was on the second weekend of Dec I think. They had a band playing on the corner of California and Acacia. And afterwards Santa appeared and walked all the way down to the end of the cul de sac lighting up the houses as he walked along. Everyone (especially kids) followed. Cool to watch! I remember seeing some kids selling hot chocolate. This year we went on the 20th. I didn't see anyone selling hot chocolate this time. There was a group singing carols again but this time without a band. Always a huge queue to see Santa who sits in his little hut at the end of the road, I think between 7-9pm every night. I heard they close off the road a few days before Xmas to give some privacy to the residents so go early if you want up see the Xmas lights! read more

How can you not give this place a 5 stars? Parking could be hectic, but not a big deal if you don't mind walking a few blocks. House on other streets are beautifully decorated even though they are not on the official "candy cane lane". As for the main street, each house goes above and beyond to put as many lights as they can and each of them is very different. Time was well spent with the whole family. Kids asked to go back the very next day. I'm definitely making it a yearly tradition to visit this beautiful neighbourhood. read more

I went last night and enjoyed the beautiful and detailed decorations that these residents share for us to see. It's a cul de sac that is beautifully decorated and I would recommend for those in the area to check it out. It is open every night, although on here it says it's only on the weekends. There's is in area at the end of the block for children or families to take with Santa if interested, and it is donation based. We visited Candy CAne Lane in El Segundo for the first time this year. This neighborhood has been decorating their neighborhood since 1949 with beautiful Christmas lights. Each house has its own theme. The homeowners go all out and it's an amazing experience! Santa Claus was on hand to visit with the kids in his sleigh. A high school band played Christmas music. You just grab a hot cocoa or hot toddy, walk the streets, and enjoy the sites! It's really fun and a great holiday tradition to begin! read more

I loved all the decorations and lights. I took my kids to see it and they were so amazed! I didn't expect so many people to be there. It was so crowded. This was my first year making the trek to Candy Cane Lane. We waited in the car for about an hour (in line), not even on the street yet.. Once we finally got into the neighborhood the cars were still inching forward. We asked those walking if they thought if it would be worth it to keep waiting (at 1.5 hours at this point).. and they said no. So we left. If I go next year I will definetly park my car and walk. Not worth being inside of your car for the wait! read more

Took the family but not quite what I expected... Not all the houses were lid up but the few that were, were beautiful!!! My 3 yrs old nephew loved the houses especially the one with the giant ginger bread house. Parking was easy no hassle at all. read more

This place is great! I just wish it was bigger like the one in Torrance but I still had a great time.

I went this past Monday night at 7pm and loved it! It was already busy but just drive a few blocks and you will find parking without a problem in this residential area. There are houses decorated in surrounding blocks too so it was nice to drive around and look before parking and looking at the main Candy Cane Lane. We loved that it was closed off by the police so pedestrians can fully enjoy looking around and appreciating all the beautiful details at each home. This is 35 minutes away from me but well worth the drive! Tip: Santa Clause is available for pictures in his sleigh at end of the block read more

so yeah, there are plenty of places in L.A. to check out Christmas lights, so competition can be stiff. what CC Lane El Segundo has going for it is the lack of hectic-ness and friendly atmosphere. that "only one block" is really long, and it's a cul-de-sac. you can take your time enjoying the hard work of every neighbour on this block, and if you have Tiny Humans with you, you can let them run in the street without anxiety since the whole block is closed to traffic. parking is not that hard to find, and besides, other houses nearby also get into the spirit so you can enjoy that! apparently on weekends there is a Santa in a sleigh. the homeowners are generally really friendly and are happy to see so many people enjoying their efforts. some yards have themes; others project Christmas movies in the yard. protip for the Tiny Humans crowd: go right before it gets completely dark; you will be able to start enjoying the houses that light up early with barely anyone else there. by the time you are starting to get ready to leave, most homeowners will be back from work, most of the block will be lit, and the crowds will start to arrive. well, actually, it's never that crowded which is worth the 5 stars alone. a wonderful yearly tradition especially for Westsiders! thank you Candy Cane Lane! read more

An amazing display of festive Holiday eye candy. Nearly every house on this block is lit up like it's Disneyland. Most yards have cheerful displays with large character cut-outs (ie. Charlie Brown, Snow White, etc), small villages with trains running, or winter wonderland scenes complete with a snow machine and inflatable snowmen. If you want to get in the Christmas spirit, cheer yourself up, or see a twinkle in your children's eyes, this is the place to come! Oh, and if you come before Christmas, Santa is parked in his sleigh at the end of the block and poses for pictures with kids- much cooler than a mall Santa. :-) Only downside- it gets crowded, so park a couple blocks away and walk over. read more

If you are missing an 'East Coast' Christmas then Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo will remedy your longing for a 'Backeast' Christmas of yore. Visited this charming cul de sac late Christmas night in the exceptional bitter cold SoCal weather. The winds were extreme but it didn't deter anyone's joy whatsoever. What a great way to bring the holiday to a close. No traffic, no unpleasant encounters. Only friendly revelers enjoying themselves and taking pictures aplenty. So nice to know that communities can still come together in the full spirit of the season. And they having been presenting this outstanding effort since 1949!!! Absolutely spectacular!
