A great experience! Kind and helpful when I needed to quickly move out of LA Apartment. Would trust with my most valued furniture.

I can't say enough good things about SM Furniture Repair in Paramount. I brought them a wide…read morekitchen drawer that had completely fallen apart -- the bottom had separated from the back and it was no longer usable for storing our heavy pots and pans. From the moment I arrived, the experience was outstanding. They understood exactly what needed to be done and got right to work. They didn't just glue it back together -- they reinforced the structure with nails and added hidden supports underneath to make sure it could handle real weight. And to top it off, they did it fast -- I was blown away by how quickly and professionally they turned it around. The craftsmanship is excellent. The drawer feels sturdier than it ever did. And they were warm, honest, and straightforward about the repair process and cost. If you have any furniture or cabinet repair -- especially those small but frustrating jobs most big places won't even look at -- SM Furniture Repair is the real deal. Old-school skill, great service, and fair pricing. Highly recommended!

He handled it like a pro. But he subsequently stood me up for two other jobs: no call and no return phone calls. Maybe there is an accountability problem. I want my table back that he agreed to repair. I wonder where it is? This is my second time writing and asking about it. It is just so unprofessional and that is not how he represents himself. But I am tired of waiting and being ignored. I am going to rate him this time, and I think I am being generous. This is an awful way to treat people who believe in your service.

Provided fabric books so I can browse thru. Ended up deciding with another fabric I found on my own. After that, I asked for an updated/formal quote. I understand people get busy, so I gave it some time. About two weeks later, I followed up because I genuinely wanted to support a local business, especially since he is located very close to me. I did not receive a response, so I followed up again the next day. Then the quote suddenly became $1,250--not including fabric. When I questioned why the price had more than doubled, I was told it was because the chair needed new foam, even though that was included in my original request. I explained that was included in the original quote so I asked what changed? No response since then. I received several other quotes, all hundreds less, with some even including fabric. He wasn't the cheapest either from start. For context, this is a relatively simple armless chair. There are no upholstered arms or sides--just the seat and back so it didn't make sense. If the original quote was a mistake, just say that. Instead, the poor communication and unexplained price increase made me feel like my three weeks was wasted. I specifically wanted to support a local business and had several more vintage pieces to reupholster, but I'll be taking that work elsewhere. My tip for future customers, get it in writing.

I have never ever left anything but good reviews on here, but the experience I just had with Cane &…read moreBasket Supply left me feeling genuinely taken advantage of and insulted. I brought two cane cesca style chairs to this place for a repair quote on January 5th. When I arrived, Susan and Fred quoted me approximately $85-90/chair, they also volunteered that they would even polish the legs where the chrome was rusting. The quoted timeline was approx. 2 weeks. Sounds great! Next step they said would be a follow up call in one week with an exact quote once their guy was back in and could look at them. No call. I followed up myself two weeks later, and was told it would be an additional 2 weeks. No quote yet. Ok, no problem, I said. They must be busy. 6 weeks later, still no call. I followed up again on 2/13 and was finally given a quote - $400 - over double the original quoted price. I pointed this out to Susan on the phone and her verbatim response was "I'm sorry numbers are confusing." I swear to god lol. They came down to $300 all-in after seeing I was clearly unhappy with the price gouging, but that is still $100 over their original quote! When I went to pick up the chairs - first, the legs were not polished as Susan and Fred originally promised. Their demeanor, including Everado, was instantly hostile as they snickered at me despite the fact that I was nothing but polite. I wanted to say "What is going on here? How old are you and what makes you think it's ok to treat someone, let alone a customer like this?" I'm the youngest person of the three of them by about 30 years probably and they were acting like poorly behaved children. Maybe they felt they could get away with treating me like this because of my age? A final slap in the face, when I went to pay, I asked if they took credit card, to which they said "yes, but it will charge us a fee." Ok, I said, fine with me. Everado then insisted that I pay via Zelle or cash, despite them admitting to having the capability to take credit card. The message essentially being "yes, we take credit card, but not for you". If there's another place that does this in LA, I'd say go there. The work they do is fine, even good, but save yourself the pain of having to deal with these grown up children.

I have a beautiful 3-foot Italian pot that was accidentally broken into nearly 50 pieces by my then-15-year-old daughter. In an attempt to repair it herself, she did her best -- but the pot was haphazardly put back together with mismatched glue. Needless to say, I thought my beautiful Italian piece was probably beyond saving. Then I met Marco. He completely disassembled the pot, carefully removed all of the old glue, meticulously cleaned every piece, matched the original paint to a tee, and painstakingly pieced the entire pot back together. The result was absolutely incredible. You would never know it had ever been broken. Every detail, every color, every seam was beautifully restored. But what makes Marco so special goes beyond his extraordinary talent as a restoration artist. He is a genuinely kind and caring person who takes the time to get to know you. As he shared his own history and story with me, I immediately knew that he was the perfect person to entrust with something so meaningful to me. I believe he carries that same care, patience and spirit into every piece he restores. I'm sorry it took me so long to write this review, but perhaps waiting a year makes it even more meaningful: after a full year, my Italian pot still looks as beautiful as the day I picked it up from Dante Restoration. Thank you, Marco! You are a true master of your craft and a kind soul. I am so grateful you brought my beautiful Italian pot back to life. I couldn't recommend Dante Restoration more highly!
