This is the first time that my nails do not feel "over-worked" or sore afterward. The salon is lovely and their prices are reasonable. I had SNS with tips & design and a pedicure. I went here for my nails. I got a clear dip and my nails are now beautiful. There is a new store owner and she is very attentive. I recommend this place for a well done nail job.

Below average for SNS. The nail tech took my previous SNS manually which was very painful. The new SNS job is sloppy, and there is SNS on the skin around my nails. The almond shape I requested is very rounded.

This is the best nail place in the area! So it says Jade nails on the sign from the previous owner and they are waiting on the county to change the sign. It has been candlelight nails for about 18 months. They are extremely friendly and very into customer service here. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted and I don't know how but Andy read my mind and gave me exactly what I was picturing. He even stopped multiple times to make sure I liked the shape and made me promise to tell him if he wasn't doing what I had in mind. I really felt taken care of here and they had soooo many nail art options if you're into that. Jessica did my pedicure and she was also amazing and so nice. If you're looking for a nail place in the John's Creek/Duluth area this is a great one!

First time customer here and will definitely be back! Came here on Thursday for a pedicure and my nail tech was very attentive, detailed and gave a great experience! Everyone here was very friendly and they even offered me water (free of charge) which is usually unheard of at nail salons. Highly recommend read more

I stopped in for the advertised 20% off for first time visit. The pedicure was mediocre. When I went to pay, they gave me 20% off, but charged an extra $15 for gel polish, which I DID NOT request or even want. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I believe you have to come to an establishment more than once to truly know if it's good. Maybe they were having a bad night or I just had poor technicians. I had to direct the tech doing my pedicure during the entire service. It was so bad another tech had to come in and fix at the end because I was on the verge of tears. The tech doing my fill in filed one hand of nails skinnier than the other then told me it would be $5 extra to change the shape. She stated that was the shape of the nails. As my check ins show I just received a full set during my last visit and you just filed them but now they are not even so I will have to pay you more to fix? At the end of my pedicure service the technician who fixed my pedicure asked me to remain in the pedicure chair since she had just polished them ( I was in the last chair). A man comes out of the back and tells me to go to the front. I shared with him the other tech asked me to stay In the chair. He said no go to the front. (All of the pedicure chairs were empty and no customers waiting to be serviced). I said ok. Of course my nails smudged. So they had to repaint them. This experience was not like my first and I left more stressed and wishing I had not come here. I spent over 2.5 hours on a classic pedicure and acrylic fill in services (none of that was wait time..,I was seated upon entering) and my toes are still not even . Tip: the prices listed are not accurate. Make sure you explain what you want and they give you the price upfront. read more

I've came here twice, and let me tell you this place is amazing! I love their service and how friendly they are. They don't sacrifice quality for efficiency. Once I brought my whole crazy family of 7 and they did such a great job accommodating everyone from adults to kids! Everyone was so happy and pleased with their nails. Love to come here for pedicures. This is my go to nail salon now when I'm in the area! read more

I have been going here for years. I think the quality goes up and down but overall good job. What I appreciate is they will go out of their way to correct issues, which do not happen often for me. My sister and I walked in on a Thursday morning to get a manicure & pedicure with no appointment. They accommodated us right away and they were very efficient. The massage chairs and foot/hand massages during the process was excellent and so relaxing. Everything was clean, everyone wore masks & they were all very friendly & professional. Plus the prices are great! Excellent experience. Definitely recommend visiting this establishment! read more

Good customer service but unfortunately the nails did not turn out well. We were charged for services we did not ask for and had to show them the price on their website was cheaper than they tried to charge. Also their COVID-19 precautions are very lackadaisical. Allowed walk-ins, no questions, no temperature check, and going from client to client or phone without gloves or sanitation. The only reason this place has 1 star is because one person who reviewed badly. This place is actually a nice nail salon and the staff is very sweet the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the pricing is overpriced and Different from their menu listed on the menus in person I paid 58 for a gel pedicure and eyebrows. The eyebrows were most likely eight dollars so $50 for a gel pedicure. She did an a great job tho it took a little around an hour 10 min. The lady who did my eyebrows did rush. But I would come back again for another pedicure read more

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding recently and needed to get my nails done. I had a photo of the style and color the bride wanted our nails to be so I showed it to the nail tech and she was able to easily match the color and shape. I've never had nails this long before but it was very pretty and very well done. I'm not much of a "get my nails done" type of girl, but will revisit this place whenever a special occasion requires it. read more

This is the MOST terrible and terrifying place to go. So please if you read this don't go!!! I Really hope I can give no star I had a wedding to go so I asked them and quadruple times if they can get me out by 5:40 since I had to wait for 30 extra mins but they couldn't 1. They can't keep time - I had to wait 25mins extra because I was 7mins late 2. Manager have no respect - She told me that it is not her responsible and she doesn't care straight up on my face (just fucked up) 3. Their towel smells 4. I have been going here and supported this business during the pandemic. They have consistently gotten worse. They react negatively to feedback or complaints, even if given in the most kind way. I didn't like how my nails pedicure was done. The polish was lumpy. One of the technicians agreed and tried to fix. It still wasn't right. I was heading out of town for a couple weeks and couldn't go back. I called and took a picture. The next time I went in, I was talked about, although in a different language, it was obvious and the entire salon was looking. I wasn't trying to get a free service. I spend almost $100 here every 3 or so weeks, complaining for a free service does not benefit me. I was so embarrassed and the manager said she is just learning of the situation. I will not go back to this place. They do a good job until you become a regular and they their service diminish! read more

WORST NAIL SHOP EVER! I Told the woman I wanted a fill and that I didn't want them to look thick she then told me it had to look thick because I was doing a fill which is wrong. On top of that none of my nails are shaped the same and she left so much room between the color and my cuticle it looks like my nails are grown out. read more

yesterday was my first time at Candlelight Nails & Spa, and I'm hooked! I chose Andy for my acrylic fill in and Kay for my toes, Kay was great and gentle on my ticklish feet. Andy has been one of the most attentive nail techs that I've ever gone to. He was super meticulous about shaping my nails PERFECTLY (god bless!!!) and had a lot of suggestions for me because I wanted some kind of design. We ended up picking leaves and a few rhinestones, and the results are stunning. I've found my new nail home! (I definitely accidentally smudged my big toe polish myself ahhh) read more

Great for SNS that stays on for a month. No chipping. They are nice. Music is top hits with tv's on mute with subtitles. Chair massagers are new. Place has been renovated. Turnover of staff has been disappointing lately because I find someone I like and they leave. I've had 4 nail technicians in one year. But all are good. I recommend calling first as I see walk ins have to wait. To the right of Publix at State Bridge and Medlock Bridge. read more

We believe as a nails & spa salon, our focus is not only on providing the best service but also maintaining the highest quality in customer service. We keep our customers happy with both the end products and the experience they have at our salon! Our salon can easily be located between Publix and UPS in Medlock Corner (on the left side of UPS).

History

Established in 2004.

The original owner of the salon opened up in 2004 and called it Jade Nails. Back then only 3 nails salons were in this area. They had great customer services and great staffs, but over the year the shop had a change in owner and the salon was neglected. Since the most recent takeover, the salon has been renovated and filled with new technicians who are passionate and great at what they do, just like when the shop was first opened.

Meet the Business Owner: Steven H.

I have always been fascinated with art and beauty. So opening up a nails salon has been my dream since starting college. With years of experience in the nails industry as manager, I purchased Jade Nails and change it to Candlelight Nails & Spa hopefully to make an impression of what nails services would be instead of the same, watered down service that everyone is receiving these day. Every nail art should be a thing of beauty and has to be done with great care from the top professionals. With the help from the best technicians I have gathered, I promise to make all my customers happy and satisfied at Candlelight Nails. The word itself has a hopeful meaning, which is what I want to bring to everyone!

Their website states that 10 minutes late is a no show- with no mention of how long your appointment was. Sadly, they lost three customers this morning over that five minutes.

I think they also take walk ins if you are spontaneous like that, but I have always scheduled my appointments ahead of time. My daughter had a "back wax" for the first time at this facility. In preparation for this service, I Googled the rating, which returned to 4.7 Stars. We called the company to find out what to expect since this was her first time. Also, she had an event to attend and wanted to ensure there were no issues with her back after the service. The company advised us to come a few days earlier in case of minor irritation (considering eyebrow and lip waxing, you might get a minor irritation). Also, the esthetician recommended that my daughter get a "Sugar wax" service. We arrived five days before the event and had the service done. The esthetician had my daughter sign a waiver and advised her to use Neosporin or Hydrocortisone in case of minor irritation. My daughter said that the esthetician used her gloved hands as she repeatedly put the product on her back, but she didn't change the gloves between applications. My daughter thought to herself that she hoped the esthetician would change the product for each new client. Immediately after the service, walking out the door, I checked her back and saw white pimples populating on her back. My daughter didn't go back into the facility to make them aware because she had already addressed the possibility of some irritation. My daughter used hydrocortisone to help with the rash; now it's red. After the event, the rash developed fully on her entire back. The earliest we could get an appointment with a dermatologist was that Wednesday. During the visit, the dermatologist said this rash was caused by a contaminated product caused by double-dipping. She prescribed a cream to be used daily for at least two weeks, possibly three. We are still working on the rash, which has been present for seventeen days. Yesterday, we showed my daughter's back and spoke to the company about the problem. We requested a refund for the cost of the service and dermatologist visit. The problem was not a minor irritation but a massive reaction to contaminated products caused by staff negligence, which caused a full-blown rash. We asked to speak to the owner, which the esthetician declined. She responded that she would give the information to the owner and get back to us tomorrow. Today, after two follow-up calls from me, they finally responded: "Your daughter signed the waiver, which clearly states that we are not responsible for anything; therefore, they will not give a refund." In all honesty, based on yesterday's conversation with the esthetician, we didn't expect them to show good ethics or integrity. If I saw a review like this and the pictures as proof, I would say, "Thank you very much!" And move on to another company. We can only make decisions in today's world through the "Reviews." So even if you have a 5-star rating along with these business practices, I would not take the chance because you or your loved one suffers; the company moves on with business as usual. They have to be held accountable! So, we will be filing this information to The State Board of Georgia because this is a health issue that requires investigating or, at the very least, recording. No STAR ratings. We are making sure you get the information so that you can make the right decision.

My point of feedback is to let the client know that when you are asking them if they'd like (insert body part here) to be waxed- to also, as courtesy, include "this will be an additional cost". As a business owner myself, it just felt sly and backhanded. I believe the appropriate resolution would be to charge for the original service scheduled and let the client know in the future, "we will be sure to let you know of the additional costs in the future". Not take my money and try to explain to me that "I should have known". I do not own a wax business and I only get waxed maybe 2x a year. I live 40m away from this location but wanted to return because I appreciated their previous work and my original attendant. I am debating whether to return or just find another wax business. I then resorted to texting to ask them and I typed out a clear and concise message that indicated that I was inquiring only and didn't intend on changing my appointment at that given time. The message read: Hii! I wanted to know that if I wanted to reschedule, would there be any penalty/issues? I don't know if I need to yet, just weighing my options. Alexis, the owner, told me there was no penalty and that I can reschedule online if need be. After speaking to the airlines to change my flight to extend my stay (for the emergency, my grandfather passed), I decided to try to simply reschedule my appointment for a later date. After having issues booking online, I decided to call back because the same thing happened with booking my initial appointment. And Alexis manually went into their system to change it, and thought that perhaps she could assist me again. Instead, she texted me an incredibly RUDE and insensitive text, following another that said that she cancelled my appointment although I never asked for her to do so. There was no apology, no customer recovery, nothing. Attached you will see the text messages, please read them. And please do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE RESPECTED AND HAVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, because you will not get it from them. I really wanted to support a Black owned business, but there are others in the city that deserve the money that you'd spend here. UPDATE: Per the business owner's response (Alexis), she has made it even more apparent that her overall inadequacy and inability to thoroughly read, be honest, and even manage her books properly is alarmingly unprofessional. In the response (below), she claims that they "went out of their way to accommodate me past business hours," which is a prime example of her fragrant dishonesty. I simply asked her for whatever time that was available for my booking. I never asked for a time. Alexis took it upon HERSELF to book me at 6pm and not 6:30pm, as she claims. Please see below for proof of my statements via Alexis and I's text message conversation. In addition, I did call at least 4 times to try to be considerate, so I wouldn't cancel my booking. As I mentioned in my initial review, I had just received news of my grandpa's passing and had to change my flight to attend the funeral. When I messaged her (see texts below), I apologized for the calls and notified her of my family emergency-- which she chooses to ignore-- and even settled to come in for the appointment still because I didn't want to throw off their schedule. With the passing of my grandpa, I simply wasn't thinking of if the business was closed or not, and just wanted to get in contact with someone who could possibly give me information on rescheduling, if I decided to. Also, since when is calling a business when they're "not open" an inconvenience? If their contact number was solely their business number, someone calling during the daytime closed or not, isn't bizarre-- logically. Simply put, this all stemmed from a very prideful, egotistical business owner that refuses to own up to her mistakes and apologize for cancelling my appointment, when I only contacted her to get information on their rescheduling/cancellation policy. I believe that she may have trouble properly reading. During our entire exchange via text message, I was so kind to her. Never gave a rude or snappy response. So I'm unsure why she deemed that I wasn't a "good fit for their business." I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau on this matter.

I'm from Tennessee. Im just visiting Duluth and last night one of my nail came off. I was searching for nail salon on yelp and Candlelight reposnded me quickly. Other places responded to me too a little after Candlelight. I asked Candlelight what would be the price for my nail. They said it will be $50. With same exact question, another nail salon said "$12 for removing old full set, $45 for new full set, $20 on top of it if you want gel color, $5 additional for shape and length." WHAT???? U are saying im going to have to pay $82 when Candlelight offered me $50 plus 10% off for first customer? so yes. I went to Candlelight. Andy was very kind and all the employees were good people. At the end i got my 10% off for first customer yelp coupon, i only paid $45 for my old set + full set + glitter + gel top! Imagine if i went to that another place that would charge me an arm and a leg for same exact thing! read more

Wow!! Remodel nail salon!! What can i say.. Everything is brand new, New Polish colors, New SNS colors, New Gel Colors, New Owners.. These guys are legit!! They do an excellent job from Hands to Toe!! Check this place out.. They treat you like family.. i took my wife here to get her nails done, she got a Manicure of fake tips with SNS polish and different amazing designs by K.. She's Amazing.. it came out really great.. it has been more than 2 weeks since she got them done and there's no chip, crack, or any polish gone!!! Amazing work from these amazing people!! They offer you massage while you get your manicure on your shoulders, offer you water if you are thirsty, and tell you what is right and wrong about your nails.. I visited my cousin and wanted to do a girls date with her. This place has a new owner and close to her house so we decided to give it a try. The shop is spacious and calming decoration, the place is very nice and clean too, really hope they can keep it up! The nail technician did pretty good on me, she seems very patient and careful cause I had problem with technician rushing to move on to the next customer! After spending an hour in the salon, I would say it was totally worth it. I was greeted and offered refreshment while waiting for my techs to get ready. The salon is very clean and the nails come out gorgeous. What surprise me the most was that it was very affordable compare to nearby salons. My full acrylic set only cost $25 and they treat me like a queen. I would definitely coming back and recommend Candlelight Nails to every one. It didn't matter how many times I told her it was okay, they're busy, I can come back another day, she still kept her hands on my arms squeezing them. I managed to leave. I deceived to give them another try. Everything was great until it was time to pay. I chose a basic pedicure which is $35 on the price menu, I got French tip. Tell me why, as she's checking me out, my total is suddenly $50!!!!!! I told her I think she made a mistake and she said no. Do you know these people charged me to take off my nail polish and told me it was because I had gel nail polish when i told them atleast 5 different occasions it was regular polish. The lady who originally started on my toes told her the same thing, it was regular polish YET she still tried to insist I had gel polish. I had to get back to work so I told them I'd pay now and come back later since I work across the street. She did not care at all that I said that bc she started painting my toes. She asked if I wanted a hot towel, I told her no. She said it won't add time bc she will wrap the towel around my legs and do my toes at the same time, I said it's okay but she said it won't affect the time so I gave in and said yes. Do you know they charged me for all those services and not ONCE told me anything would be an additional fee. It took the customers in the nail salon to stand up for me instead of her staff. I told her not once did they say it would cost extra for French tip. Not once did they said it would cost extra to wrap a .3 second warm towel around my leg NOR did I come in with gel polish. She really tried to argue me down and I hate that. I was ready to call the police because excuse me? The only reason I didn't is because a customer said she would pay the difference and even then, the staff started trying to yell at her and tell her she couldn't pay for my nails. Very sweet of the customer but understand that wasn't the issue. They try to get over on people so bad. Why in the world would I need or want all those extra services done in my freaking lunch break. The very nice tip I was going to give completely went away. I will never come back to this place. I should've sewed them for the first encounter. Respectfully, fuck these people. All of the workers who have helped me have been extremely thorough in their work and listen to you if you have any concerns. I usually get gel or SNS manicures here and regular pedicures with other massage or special soak add-ons. They have always provided the best quality work and are not overly rough with the massages like some places. You also get a free beverage - wine, if you like, with your service which is nice as not every nail place offers that, though more should if they can. The atmosphere is always calm and never too busy. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. You can also get a birthday discount if you sign up for the rewards program, as well as other periodic discounts. Overall, it's a great place and I've had no issues yet. This will continue to be my go-to place for nails.

Then disappeared in the back. She came out and said her sister had time for a mani only before her next client, if I was ok with that. I loved how she worked hard to accommodate me without new being pressed. The service was great for both of us. The communication was phenomenal - they even vibed and joked around with us. When it was finally our turn the I was asked to soak my feet. The water was way too hot for me and the water was almost full to the top by the time cold water was turned on to temper it. So I soaked my feet in the water and waited. Again, no big deal. It was still so much on the warm side though that I ended up breaking into a sweat. I don't think they had the air conditioning on inside their store. Looking around my mom's gel manicure, her manicurist did a great job and she was very sweet. The lady that did my pedicure was also nice, well so I thought (until she took my payment). The lady that did my nails while I sat in the pedicure chair did a really bad job with my nails. I didn't realize how bad until I got home. See attached pics. When all was said and done and I was paying, I was told to add the tip to the receipt. I guess it wasn't good enough. As I gave the receipt back and thanked the lady who did my pedicure she just turned and walked away. No "you're welcome", no "thank you", no nothing. I will have to say that the lady that did my nails was kind enough to find me a regular polish and a gel polish that matched perfectly which I appreciate. It's just that the work was pretty bad and was rushed because they had people waiting after us. Overall a horrible job on my nails. My toes were ok though - but done by someone else. For expensive as this stuff is, never again!

She is incredibly rude and is always so rough with my hands. This past weekend, I was unfortunate enough to have her handling my SNS. She didn't say a word when she started working on my hands, just threw everything in my lap. The nail colors, mini bean bag and the UV light - literally thrown down. At one point, I was rudely told, "Give me your hand!" She was also very rough with my fingers. In fact, I left with a few of them bleeding and now it hurts to have water even touch them. Based on other reviews, I know this same woman has already been mentioned. Unfortunately, I believe she is one of the owners if not, the owner. I pass by way too many nail places to get here from Duluth. Not sure why I've subject myself to this treatment for as long as I have, but I will not be back.
