Stopped in for the first time this morning. It was one of those situations where we both had a craving for breakfast burritos, but also wanted to try someplace new, so we just drove out San Fernando and found this little place in a commercial neighborhood near the airport. I had the ham, egg, and potato burrito with salsa and beans, and it was a great meal--a bit more than I'd planned to eat, but I didn't want to stop. My better half had the machaca and eggs, and after tasting it I was wishing I'd gotten something he'd share, because his dish was just as intriguing as my own. This place specializes in seafood, and although I'm not fond of shrimp (yeah, I know... it's a character flaw but I can't help it), I did notice that nearly every table had serveral impressive-looking shrimp cocktails on it, so they're probably worth a try. The only minor irritant: As Anthony L. pointed out, this place has a jukebox filled with mariachi music, and although someone turned it down while we were there, the volume went back up by the time we left. For that reason, I would NOT recommend stopping in on a Sunday morning if you're hung over, or at any time a quiet meal is important to you. Overall, a great meal, and worth a visit. read more

Ever heard of placing your mugs in the freezer so they'll be nice and cold and ready to serve? Service is great here! Very attentive! There were 2 people in our group. We got the aguachile, tostada de ceviche de pescado, and burrito mojada en salsa verde de carnitas. The aguachile was delicious! Only complaint would be it needs more juice in the plate lol. The ceviche de pescado needs some love. I had to add lemon and salt and salsa to it. It definitely lacked flavor. The burrito mojado was very good, the salsa has good flavor and the carnitas here are always an A+!! The only complaint we had overall was that they give you the bag of tostadas to dip your hand into. In the age of covid, I wish they would be more mindful of spreading the virus. For the price, the food is pretty good. The Chile Verde was a tad salty but still delicious and the meat was very tender. The wet burrito wasn't anything special but very filling. I'd order it again, but maybe with the green sauce. read more

Got a michilada which was pretty good a shrimp cocktail for myself and asada plate for my gf.. the shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp and good flavor they gave me all the crackers and chips I could need and also tapatio, ketchup. Must try!!! Seriously, if my yelp review doesn't convince you to go try this spot, you don't like seafood. The chips and salsa they give you at the beginning, so good. If you love guacamole, order some. It is delicious!! (Ive gone a couple times and one time I had to add a little salt myself) but other than that delicious!! Their micheladas are easily top 5 from restaurants I've been too. Seriously amazing! Plates I have tried and are seriously so good are cocktel de camaron, the cucumber is cut so small and idk why but that makes me enjoy the cocktail even more. I add a bit more ketchup and a lot of tapatio on mine. Another plate is the camarones costa azul. So good. Bacon wrapped shrimp and it comes with some really good fries, rice and salad The carne asada plate is so good too! The meat is nice and tender. Easy to cut by hand. I've also tried the camarones al mojo de ajo Bomb! Seriously can't go wrong with this place. Yes it always looks lonely when or if you have passed by. But don't let that fool you. That's even better in my opinion because you don't wait. Give it a try when you are craving seafood. When I want to impress out of towners with Mariscos I take them to Candilejas in Burbank. I've been coming here for at least 15 years. On today's visit I noticed that the interior has been upgraded with new booths and counter tops plus soccer on a flat screen. The prices have gone up as well but it's still a great deal for the fine Mexican Seafood you'll enjoy. The shrimp cocktail has at least 20 shrimp swimming in salsa with avocado. I recommend the Ceviche Tostada, Camarones Costa Azul and the 7 Mares. No matter what you choose you won't be disappointed. Oh, and don't forget the beer! read more

After reading some of the reviews I decided to give this place a shot. I have never been so unsatisfied with food and service, usually it is one or the other. When we arrived we were not greeted or seated. But the waitress did tend to us within a few minutes and took our drink order. 15 minutes later she finally brought the bland chips and salsa. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. The waitress didn't even stop by to check on us, refill drinks or ask if we wanted more chips and salsa while we waited for our food. Almost an hour later she finally brought our food and it was not horrible, but not great. Definitely not worth an hour wait. I ordered shrimp ceviche, one hour wait for a dish that does not require cooking! Waiting for our bill was another 10 minutes or so. I will note she was the only waitress, she had about 10 tables of two people each and a couple tables with 3-4 people. I give this place one star because my beer was cold. read more

What a great find near the Burbank Airport. I had the Chili Verde lunch special. It was unbelievable. The verde sauce reminded me of really fresh Indian curry. Coworkers and I walked across the street to this lil hidden jewel. We preordered our food and it was already set up at our table waiting for us when we walked in. How convenient! It reminded me of Belize, how our meals were set out every night so that all we had to do was sit down and enjoy our food right away. Anyways I ordered the wet carne burrito which was very very yum. My coworkers warned me against ordering it because this place specializes in seafood, but I don't really eat seafood so I went ahead and ordered the burrito. And to my surprise it was worth it!
