My wife grew up in Burbank and I moved here after we married in 1990, Granada has always been our "go-to" Mexican restaurant in Burbank. I can't say enough good things about their Cheese Enchiladas. I believe it's the only thing I've ordered in the past 35 years! My wife, on the other hand, has ordered just about everything on the menu. We both love Granadas but, unfortunately something happened a few months ago that changed our minds. One night we decided to order online and go pick up the order to eat at home. It's the first time we've done this at Granadas as we usually enjoy eating at the restaurant. When I arrived at granadas that night to pick up the food, I was taken aback at the prices. We only ordered a few items that we felt shouldn't have cost more than $50.00. When I saw the bill it was close to $100.00! I honestly thought they made a mistake and had the waiter go over the bill before I paid. It was accurate so I also took home a to-go menu to show my wife. A couple of years ago we discovered another Mexican restaurant very close to us, within walking distance, and it's our new go-to Mexican restaurant. The reason I mention this is because we compared Granadas menu to theirs and this new restaurant is almost 1/2 less per item than Granadas. And the food overall is much better! So unfortunately, we'll no longer be going to Granadas for our Mexican food but we will still keep it in Burbank with our new go-to Mexican restaurant. Sorry Granadas! read more

The service was delightful. Love there but one get one free Monday and Tuesday Specials for combinations only. We ordered two tacos beef and chicken with rice and beans. Tacos and enchiladas with right and beans. Christian made sure we had everything we needed. He provided great service. We were able to watch the Dodger Game at our table. Granada's is amazing! It's been one of my family's favorite restaurants since I was a little kid. We would come here with our entire family, including aunts and uncles, and have an incredible meal. Over the years Granada's has never disappointed us! The menu is extensive and you can get things as a combo meal or à la carte. They also have a special lunch menu each day. You really can't go wrong and the quality of food is always superb. One of my favorite things to order is the guacamole tacos. They are always fresh, a great serving, and delicious. Easy to adapt for allergies and the servers are always kind and considerate to food restrictions. For those who enjoy a drink with their meal, they also have a lot of of alcoholic beverages on their menu. The margaritas, especially the spicy margarita, are always a fan favorite. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very homey and welcoming. You feel comfortable right away and will be welcomed by kind servers and staff. It feels like family. There are a lot of booths inside the restaurant that can fit small parties to large parties for multiple families. There's also outdoor seating when the weather is nice on their patio. Lots of spaces in the parking lot too, which is super convenient. Granada's is a Burbank staple and I'm glad to see them still going after all these years! Food was overly salty especially the potato tacos. Didn't care for the food or service was ok. Asked for to go containers then waited ten minutes until I said something about the check. Pricing is extremely high for the type of food. Also noticed the bar tender drinking a stiff well distracting the services with what looked like grand stories. Never thought I'd be leaving this type of review. HARASSED OVER HAVING A SERVICE DOG!! Stay away from this Restaurant.! not because of the food because the food is decent, I will say I had visited this restaurant several times. My family was treated badly by the manager by the name of "JAVIER" because we had a service dog. Sidenote, they have a sign in the back that says they "They Welcome service dogs" We have a special trained small dog. When we got there, I told the server that we had a service dog and he proceeded to put us in the main aisle and Booth the manager came and asked if she was a service dog and we replied yes, and she had her tag visible on her, he seemed bothered and said that we should move to a smaller booth on the side because there's too much foot traffic there and the little dog was underneath the table We agreed and had no problem moving. Keep in mind the dog was civil, not barking or doing anything out of the ordinary. When we sat in the small booth, we realize we couldn't put her under the table so moved her next to my family member. Well, the manager came back and questioned again if that was our service dog to which she replied yes again, and asked the second question is what was the service dog for and she replied for her conditions He kept pressing the issue. By ADA laws, you're only allowed to ask the two important questions. Is this a service dog and what purpose is a service dog provide? But he kept pressing and making her very uncomfortable.... At this point, she asked why is this a problem so I also chimed in and said what seems to be the problem? He looked at me with a dirty look, like how dare I question him! But he continued and even said that he suffered some anxiety and he doesn't need a service dog! Now I am a Latino, Hispanic American and for some reason every time I have gone to either Mexican or Central American restaurant we always seem to have either waiters or Management make excuses and try not to let our service dog in. We go to other restaurants, and they gladly let us in with their service dog and even offer her water. And I expressed that frustration with him as well because of his demeanor, and his bad attitude. They had just served us our drinks and we were going to place an order ... Keep in mind we since have been there before apparently one of the waiters told this manager that we had been there before and we didn't bring a service dog before! to my reply was and "so what!" besides harassing now they're being presumptuous, and assuming, forgetting that they're in the service business, and that they should be accommodating and service and not be harassing their clients! I was frustrated at this point and told him that is none of their business and should not have to explain why service dog is needed now in our family..! We simply want it to be enjoy enjoying a meal and pay for the service... I replied to him is this the kind of service you're gonna be giving us? He kept up with a harsh tone and with a bad attitude.! I told him that the questions had been asked and answered twice, but he was continuing to press and now he's harassing And I let him know that. I asked for his name to which he said "JAVIER" and I said I will be talking to Management and he says don't worry about it he goes cause I run this place... We felt very upset and started getting stressed and anxious and decided to leave so we complained to the waiters and told them that because of your rude manager and his treatment of his clients we will be filing a complaint! Well, Javier, besides reviews, believe me there are complaints that can be made to other major civil rights departments! It is no wonder I see such bad reviews about this place due to the rude service behavior from this restaurant from their staff. Of course the leadership gives them the example.! So if you have a service dog, I would recommend stay away from there cause it's clear Javier doesn't like dogs, and him admitting that he suffered some anxiety and has such a horrible attitude, He probably shouldn't be anywhere near animals... Needless to say, we went to another restaurant in Which low and behold, we were treated great, accommodating, friendly, and even offered our little one some water with no issues whatsoever I will never again be bringing my family to this restaurant. I'm not going to lie. I wanted pizza but my human was not listening as usual and suggested we eat at Granada. A restaurant he had driven past for years. Well okay I said. This place is very old but the prices are 2030. Definitely a family owned establishment with plenty of regulars that were on a first time basis. Staff seemed like they have been there for years even with a younger new generation helping out. Their menu was extensive. Plenty of choices to please any palette. Most of them dipped well into the mid $20 range. Unfortunately I'm a picture person. I like to see the pictures that match the description. I went with the fajitas that set me back just under $30.00. They paired it with rice and beans and a huge helping of guacamole. Very delicious and enough for two. My human ordered a chimichanga with carnitas. It too came with rice and beans and more guacamole. It set us back about $25. One thing I noticed that was decently prices were their caldos. $7-$10 for menudo, albondigas or chicken tortilla. Next time for sure. Service was okay. A little slow to start because they didn't know we were waiting in the lobby. Probably because they were all in the bar watching the Chiefs win. We were not the only ones who waited. A few parties after us were ignored too. Even with the cameras on display. Everyone gets chips and salsa along with bean dip. That stuff was off the hook. Easy to get to as it is close to the Burbank Blvd exit off the 5 north. The place gets packed so best you order as soon as you can. Our order took almost 90 minutes. If it wasn't cause we were talking we'd be upset. I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp appetizer. It was very good. The bacon was crispy. The shrimp were a little over cooked. I also ordered a Chile Relleno. That was also tasty. It was actually surprisingly bland. But, I would order it again as it was a good size. The chips and salsa were tasty. It's bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. I frickin' love this restaurant!!! I've been coming here for 35 years and I have memories here from childhood with my family. The Food here is great! All of it! Everything! Their beans are soo good. I remember having their Deep Fried Ice Cream for the first time when I was a kid and to this day I still have cravings for it. The restaurant has a classic Mexican Restaurant feel and the ambiance makes it feel fairly intimate. I have passed by this place for YEARS and I finally got a chance to experience it. I was not disappointed. The chips and salsa to start were very fresh and the salsa was homemade. The service was great. I did not catch our serves name but he was so sweet and very attentive. I couldn't decide on what margarita to get and he suggested the pineapple and I am so glad he did. I got it blended, but they have both options of on the rocks or blended. The ambiance is very intimate which isn't a bad thing at all. Sometimes people just want to have a nice conversation with friends so this place was perfect. Since this was my first time I went basic and got two hard shell tacos. The best thing Granada has are the crispy shredded beef tacos. They are very very good. Also the Albondigas soup is one of the best I've ever had and the chicken tortilla soup is good as well. It's official, this place is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Burbank! I used to think Don Cuco was better, but Granada beats them out in multiple ways! First off, there is always plenty of parking in their lot and on Victory, where they are located. With Don Cuco, I have to park in a parking garage and sometimes rather far from the restaurant. Granada always has fresh chips. Sometimes they taste stale at Don Cuco. In addition, Granada serves a very delicious (and addicting) bean dip and salsa with their chips. Sometimes I fill up on it before I even get my order. They always get my order right at Granada. I order beef taquitos rancheros with rice and beans and no cheese or sour cream. They get this right every single time. Don Cuco has messed up my order over a dozen times over the years. Whoever cooks for them always adds cheese all over everything even though I order with no cheese. I don't have to worry about Granada messing up my order. They pay attention and the chef is on it! Lastly, I left my cell phone at Granada today and realized about five minutes after leaving. As soon as I realized this I called them from my boyfriend's phone and they said they found it! I went right back, they gave it to me and I was so grateful. Any one of their employees could have easily stolen the phone, but they did not. Very honest, efficient and hardworking people here! Chips & salsa arrived quickly. The salsa looked like pureed tomatoes. I was a bit skeptical. However, it was tasty - with a hint of garlic and the right amount of spiciness. The chips were fresh and warm. We also got a side of beans to go with them. The beans were good too. I ordered the Skinny Margarita. It had a weird flavor. It tasted like soda water mixed with Tequila & lime. I'm not sure what it was. I asked for a shot of Grand Marnier. It helped a bit. Perhaps, the regular margaritas are better. The menu is extensive and even has a few vegetarian options. The atmosphere is cozy, and the locals seem to love it here. However, for me, it fell short of my expectations. This place was super disappointing to say the least. The service was horrible, the margarita was very bad, and the food was even worse. The waiter brought my margarita with no salt rim, didn't even ask me if I wanted it, like he did the ppl next to us. When it came time to ordering our food, I realized after that our entrees were supposed to come with soup or salad, and that was never asked or offered as well when we ordered. Haven't eaten here in 15 years. My friend whose birthday it was chose Granada's. When we got to entrance, there was party of 5 people plus a single person waiting, making the space a little tight. After 5 minutes someone in the group of 5 said "That's it we're done with this place, we've waited 10 minutes and no one has come." I found a busboy and let him know that we all had been waiting. The vibe is way off in there (staff are very unhappy/stressed) so it's really uncomfortable, and the quality of the food & drinks has gone downhill.
