Okay. It's been about three weeks since I got my haircut at Vito Pini. I specifically looked online…read moreand chose a place that was using high Covid precautions since I am immunocompromised. So I was surprised to get there and find nobody masked and they told me they didn't care whether I wore a mask or not. Inconsistent with their website. But airflow was good so I stayed. I was given a really good shampoo by Kylie. Genuinely, a great shampoo. Then I went to Doug's chair. I'd told him I wanted a layered bob. It's a pretty standard cut so I didn't feel like I needed to bring pictures. I've had this cut multiple times before. So... imagine how surprised I was when Doug felt my hair, told me it was a terrible texture, and that it wouldn't hold a curl (it does, I just use product) and layers wouldn't help (um, what?) and I'd problem never have anything fashionable (dude, it's your job to GIVE ME THAT) and so he was just going to cut a regular bob. The problem with a regular bob in my hair is that I have fine hair but I have A LOT OF IT. Like, a ton of it. So it winds up looking like a giant chunk at my chin. Layers allow it to have volume at the crown and look sleek at the the chin. But, again, Doug said I had terrible texture hair (he repeated this, so I'm sure to remember it) so he didn't cut layers. Doug managed to cut my hair in a grand sum total of eighteen minutes, showed me the back of my head, and said it was done. Things most hairdressers do that Doug did not: ask you how long you'd like your bangs to be (I would have liked mine shorter), check to see if the sides are even (they were not), and ask at the end if you like the cut (he just showed me the back, turned the chair around, and took off my smock. I was gobsmacked.) He then showed me the product wall and recommended a mousse. I haven't used a mousse in ... literally years... but I bought it because, I dunno, I was in a haze? The whole thing made me insane? And wouldn't you know it, the woman who checked me out charged the tip on both the service AND the product. So we're talking about a tip (that I KNOW I shouldn't have given) added to a $70 haircut and a $39 can of mousse. Friends, I went back two days later and returned that unopened mousse and had them refund the tip. I will say that Tracy, who I dealt with then, was very pleasant , and offered to cut off the rat tail in my hair. You see, as per the pictures attached, there was a two inch long section that Doug missed when cutting my hair. I assume it was from being tucked in the mask... but maybe it was from being a quick haircut. Or from not giving a shit because my hair was such a terrible texture so he had zero interest in seeing me again. Either way... I let Tracy know that nobody at Vito Pini had to touch my terrible textured hair. I cut off the little leftover bit and I'll take my hair elsewhere in future.

I went to see Natasia at Sinful Salon yesterday because of a Groupon…read more Natasia was very nice and the haircut is wonderful. The color, however, is so disappointing. I made an appointment for balayage highlights to avoid the harsh lines of foiled highlights and came out looking as if no color was done AT ALL. I told her that (1) I wanted lots of blonde put in my dark brown hair, (2) I wanted the highlights to begin pretty close to the roots, and (3) that my hair doesn't bleach easily -- she would need a stronger concentration than she'd expect. 90 mins of color processing later and I look NO DIFFERENT than when I sat in her chair. I don't have strong blonde highlights anywhere and the only color I have on the tips were from 17 months ago -- the last time I managed to save up the money to have my hair done. Keep in mind, she will TEASE and tangle your hair as part of the "dye" job. Having it combed out again after the wash was incredibly painful. Again, the cut is amazing, but I paid to have my hair colored blonde again and got nothing out of it. It's hard to cope with saving up, managing to find kid-coverage, and driving out to Littleton all for nothing. She's very sweet, but Natasia will do what she wants to your hair and it may not be what you asked for at all. Very disappointed. I can't speak for any of the other stylists but do NOT see Natasia. You'll regret it as I do.

I have very curly, thick hair, and I'd like to think I'm not picky, but I do have standards!!! I've been searching for a stylist for a long time. I found a Groupon for Kayla. She is located close to my home, so it was pretty convenient. I was able to schedule my appointment online and her location was easy to find. She was incredible!! My hair looks so cute! It's blonde (not white) in just the right places! She cut it in a way that if I want to wear it curly I can (its so hard to find a stylist who is comfortable with curly hair). Even though I was a Groupon customer, she treated me like I was paying full price, and my hair looks like I did!! I have her card, and WILL be contacting her to do my hair in the future.

Jack is an exceptionally trained hair stylist, cutting celebrities' hair in Beverly Hills,…read moreincluding Brad Pitt's, and his skills are evident in each & every perfectly precise hair cut he has given me the past year, or so. After getting spoiled on both coasts, especially in San Francisco, at Cowboys & Angels, with Michael Madalinski, Tokyo, and Brittany, I saw 3 other stylists in Denver, my hometown, before I found Jack. And finding him was an elaborate work of art, in and of itself! I complimented a woman with beautiful hair at the grocery store, who was an aesthetician, then we exchanged numbers, and when I needed a new referral, she contacted multiple hair stylist friends of hers, in a giant game of lily pads, hopping across & through multiple professional business contacts, finally leading me to discover Jack. I couldn't be happier, or more grateful, for Jack! Not only are his cuts extremely specific and precise, demonstrating his proper training, he is also a wonderful human being, with whom I enjoy conversation. Highly recommend! The vibe of the salon is also artsy, chill, and they carry posh classic & innovative products! He also gave me a wonderful blow dryer recommendation for me to use at home.

When I…read morearrived, there was another client wrapping up their hair cut, and Connie, who was handling my color, had her trainee assist with me. While I didn't mind the trainee's help, it quickly became apparent that she was doing most of my hair--she handled half the root touch-up, the toning, washing, and half the blow-dry while Connie juggled another client at the same time next to me. I wasn't sure who was really in charge of my appointment. The biggest issue came at checkout when I was surprised with an additional $71 charge for a blow-dry. I had no prior explanation of this fee, and when I asked about it, I was told I could've left with wet hair if I didn't want the blow-dry. This charge seemed unreasonable, especially after already paying $125 for the root touchup. ($125 for a root touch up with no blow dry?!?!) The lack of transparency was very annoying. The staff tried to upsell me throughout my visit--suggesting brow services and conditioning treatments. While I understand they want to offer additional services, it felt a bit pushy and made the experience feel more like a cheap salon rather than a professional setting. While the color itself was decent, I'd recommend making sure you ask about all fees and services upfront if you decide to go. It seems like communication and transparency could be improved.
