Having just moved to Canby I thought I would give these guys a try. I know it is a smaller town with less traffic so I was a little bit worried that they wouldn't be able to get my shirts done in a timely manner. When I walked in with the shirts I was immediately greeted. "Those will not be done until Thursday"! I felt immediately like this was the wrong way to let a customer know when to pick up. Keep in mind that I dropped off on Tuesday and a Thursday pickup was actually totally acceptable. When I came in on Friday morning to pick up everything went well. Roughly $14 for 6 shirts not too bad. When I started to open my vehicle to hang them up I did notice that the hangers were backwards from any other dry cleaners that I have ever used. I thought this was a little bit strange but I had no choice but to roll with it. When I unpacked the shirts hung the incorrect direction in my closet of course, I did notice that they did not use any plastic clips, paper tags in the button holes, or plastic collar holders if that is what you call them. I was pleased with this actually I don't like having to remove tags from all of my shirts individually while installing them onto my body. After a few days when I got to the third shirt of the bunch I noticed a crease ironed into the front of my shirt.... sorry guys you had one job..... I was really unsure about using them again prior to this finding however I do not have time to deal with this type of mistake. read more

I have been doing business with Canby Cleaners since 1973 and have been happy with their service. This week I took a simple cotton duvet, 3 flat shams, a muslin bedskirt and 3 pillow covers in to be washed and ironed. I was told they would be done either Tuesday or Wednesday after 3. I wanted untill Wednesday to pick them up. When I arrived the man could not find the duvet or shams. I happened to look over and saw them laying on a counter unwrapped. I asked if they had been ironed, he told me "yes." I had noted they were neatly folded, I did not notice they had not been ironed until I got home and ready to put on the bed. I had to iron a king sized duvet, and the pillow shams. The bed skirt and pillow covers were done up in plastic and had been cleaned and ironed. The bill for the total was $73.00, Needless to say I will not be going back there again. read more

These people have been awesome to work with! I get my husband's clothes done here every single week and have been for years. They always get them done in one day (impressive) and sometimes have my clothes ready to go as I pull up. I have not had one single issue with them. Usually people tend to write a review when something bad happens but there are probably hundreds of people that come and go from this place who are very happy with their service. Dropped off husband's blazer Friday morning. I was told it would be ready Monday after 3. Went to pick it up at 4, and it was not done. Gal refused to call her supervisor. He needed the blazer for an interview first thing in the morning on Tuesday. She tried to blame ME saying that I should have told her I needed it Monday. But i was told it would be ready Monday, so WHY would I have needed to say something if it was already going to be done the day I needed it? No one even bothered to call me to tell me that it wasn't ready. NOT IMPRESSED. Will NOT be back and will warn others NOT to go here. read more

I have been going there a long time, 11 years, and have never had a problem until last week. Went in to pick up my husbands dry cleaning, 16 shirts and 7 pairs of pants, $80. My husband took out as tan pair of pants to put on the next morning and they were completely burnt up and scorched black all the way thru the pocket. I took them back to show them and of course the girl in there couldn't do anything and would have the manager call me. Well, Miss Bridgett called me the next morning and of course said they didn't do that, that we must have done it, ?? I see by the other reviews that that seems to be a pattern. Seriously, ?, who takes in a ruined pair of pant for dry cleaning ? My husband dresses immpeccably and wears very expensive shirts and slacks so we dry clean all of his clothes. I posted on our local city website and got 90 comments back on how bad they've become and how much they don't care about their customers. The Owner is unprofessional and does not value his long time customers. We have been coming here for 25+ years and have been happy until this week. We dropped off a king size duvet comforter to be cleaned. We picked up what we thought was our duvet, drove home, unwrapped the nice plastic cover and discovered it was the wrong comforter! It was the wrong size and a different brand. We called right away and spoke the acting manager. She was nice and professional and made several suggestions as to what may have happened to the original duvet (maybe we dropped it off at the other cleaners in town. Umm...no!). We asked that they search the premises or call other customers and ask if they may have gotten ours by mistake. I ended up asking to speak with the Owner, Jeff, to either get our comforter back or reimburse us so that we may buy another. He refused. Saying they had a policy written on the wall, (I did not read this or sign an agreement) that once you pay for an item you cannot return it or dispute the product. That the policy is there so people can't make false claims. I reminded him that we have been loyal customers for over 25 years and this was the first complaint/dispute we've ever had, we weren't the type to make false claims. We just wanted our King size, high quality comforter back or money to buy a replacement. He again refused stating the policy. Jeff, the owner, did offer to take the "wrong comforter" back and then wait to see if someone ended up returning our original duvet. Yeah, he wanted to take our original king size duvet, charge us for the cleaning and then keep the one they ended up sending us home with. You really are "taking us to the cleaners." We will never do business with this place again. Beware. Always, always check your belongings before you pay. Even if you have to take a King size comforter out of the package to inspect it. They are out for themselves, not for their customers. Especially long time community folks. This place is really going down hill. Go to the cleaners over by the Thriftway. read more
