She stole my clothes. It's been over a year. I took 5 items to her to have altered. After 3 weeks of no communication, no texts returned or calls answered, I showed up to the store and asked for my stuff. She had two items done and said the rest would be done in a week. That was lie. Haven't heard from her since. Every time I've showed up and knocked she hasn't answered. And the worst part: The she actually did is the worst I've ever seen. I do not recommend her service. She has poor communication skills, is unprofessional, repeatedly botched the alterations, denied fault, and took 6 months for a one-day job. The cuffs and waistband on my sweatshirts and sweatpants were stretched, so I needed her to sew new cuffs and a waistband. I gave her two sweatshirts and one pair of sweatpants in October or November 2025. I told her my waist size for the waistband, and I clearly explained what I wanted repaired and what I wanted left untouched. She told me it would take a couple of weeks because she needed to find matching cuffs and a waistband. I waited a month and a half, but she never called or texted me back. I called her a few times, but she only responds to texts, which I find unprofessional. I texted her in December, and she said it still wasn't ready. By January, I was fed up with waiting and decided to pick them up regardless of whether they were ready. She did a decent job finding similar matching cuffs for my sweatshirts, but I wasn't picky since they're just work clothes. However, her sloppy work left many loose threads 6-12 inches long, so I had to cut them myself when I got home. Unfortunately, she's too incompetent to repair sweatpants. She replaced the ankle cuffs even though I told her not to, and the new waistband seemed low quality compared to the original waistband from my $80 sweatpants. I gave her some slack on the waistband because I wanted to be nice. I took the sweatpants back to fix her mistake. She said it would be fixed the next day, but it's her typical business practice not to contact customers when alterations are finished. I waited two weeks to get my pants back because I assumed she was busy, but realistically, she just has poor communication skills. When I got them back and tried them on at home, I noticed the waistband was too small. For the last time, I returned the pants to correct the waist size. It is now April 2, 2026, and I finally got them back, but she sewed on a waistband that doesn't have a drawstring like the original waistband. When I asked for a refund, she copped an attitude and denied fault. She claimed it cost her more than the $10 I paid. I told her I only wanted a refund for the pants, not the shirts. She reluctantly refunded me $10 via Cash App because she doesn't keep cash. Before I left, I tried to tell her she did a good job on my shirts, but she cut me off mid-sentence by abruptly saying, "Have a good day!" I read her reviews and felt comfortable taking several expensive pieces of clothing to her for alterations. After having my garments for weeks/ months and after many attempts to contact her I stopped by her place of business several times before I finally caught her on site. I was told my alterations were finished, but that she had left them at her home. I returned the following day and found the alterations had not been done properly and needed to be redone. One pair of $125.00 pants in my opinion were ruined. One leg was too short, and the other leg was too long. I would not recommend this business to anyone especially a bride waiting for her wedding dress. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing alterations. My partner and I took our wedding suits here and she took was looked like pretty good suits on us to a next level. She not only did the work, but also gave us a crash course on what to look for when buying our next ones. I will absolutely be bringing things back to her when we need some adjustments. I had a reversible referee jersey that was way too tight but it had a custom name and number so I couldn't return it. I asked if the jersey could get a strip of black fabric along the sides and under the arms to make it bigger overall, which was no easy task because it was reversible and stretchy. I had a stunning lavander dress that another woman said she could turn into a skirt for me no problem, well I picked it up and it was not at all what I was expecting. So there I was 2 weeks out from my engagement photos and I didnt know what to do, there was no way I was going to take it back to the same person as before! In my state of emergency my mom and I found Kathy! We left her a voicemail on Wednesday and heard back from her the next day to bring it on in. I brought her my skirt and she took one look at it and said easy! She took my measurements and within a week I had an update and photos of my skirt. Kathy is very nice and cheerful. I got a beaded wedding dress hemmed, straps taken in, bra cups put in, and bustled for $345 - which is good pricing for the large beaded hem. If price is your main concern, I would go to her. However, I would not recommend her for complex (i.e. beaded) alterations that you need done quickly. At my first drop-off appointment, she apparently did not take enough information to make any alterations. When I came back for appointment number 2, we marked the hem length, strap length, and picked out the bra cups. After appointment 2, I did not hear from her for months. I assumed that she would let me know when it was done? So I finally reached out, and I don't think she had touched it until I reached out. When I came back for appointment 3, I assumed that it would be hemmed, bra cups in, and straps taken in so that we could make any final adjustments. Unfortunately, she had only put in the bra cups but had not hemmed or fixed the strap length. So I had to come back a fourth time! At the first appointment, she said we should definitely bustle the dress. At the second appointment she changed her mind and said it was not a good idea and wouldn't work with the dress. I reluctantly agreed. At the 3rd appointment, I asked again (the dress mfr said the dress was capable of being bustled). She said she'd look at it. At the 4th appointment, she had bustled it with no problem. Anyways, it was a hassle and annoying to have to persuade her to figure out how to do a bustle! Overall, I was fairly happy with the alterations. However, the top is still gappy and needs to be taken in more. I suggested that it may still be too big in the straps, and she thought it was fine. I did not want to push the issue because I would rather get it fixed at bridal shop that has more experience with beaded dresses. My big takeaway - when you drop it off, clearly state the day you will come pick it up, and schedule the pick-up. She is not organized, so she will not do it quickly unless you schedule the pick up. read more

I really didn't want to leave this review but due to Katherine's rudeness, lack of accountability, and lack of proper alteration my hand has been forced. I came to Katherine on the 30th of January needing an alteration done by the 5th of February, she assured me that this was more than enough time. I needed a dress to be hemmed to not drag on the floor and thin cups to be placed into my dress so my breasts wouldn't fly out during dancing, lol. I put on the dress with my shoes and she marked it appropriately, I left the dress with her on the 30th and she said it would be done by the 3rd of February. I hadn't heard anything from her by the 4th so I reached out and we set up a time the next day. When I picked up the dress I should have noticed the hem wasn't done but I had my 2 year old with me and was more concerned about the cups not being placed in the right place for me. She placed the new cups over the existing ones instead of removing the factory ones so it made it an odd fit. On the night of my event I realized that the dress was far too long. My husband and random people stepped on my dress too many times to count, I even tripped a few times. When I texted her about this she refused to take accountability about this. She said it wasn't possible and that she had finished hemming it THE DAY I picked it up. I provided her with before and after photos that I am wearing the SAME shoes in, I showed her photos of the stitching, etc. She claims to have used a silver thread and it is no where to be found. I showed these photos to my normal seamstress (who wasn't available for my dress which is why I used K) and she said it does not look altered. I'm truly saddened that this happened as I was so excited to support a local business but unfortunately due to how this was handled, I had to share this. After a week and a half after I texted her about the lack of hem, I had to text again to get refunded half of what I paid for. I was responded to with attitude and snark. I am giving K Alterations 3 stars because I was satisfied. Kathy was very polite and had a very quick turnaround time. I brought her a new suit that I wanted fitted for Christmas church service.
