Went a few weeks ago, so prime tourist season. Everything was crowded and no tables next to the canal. But passed by this place that was not super crowded. Noticed the prices about double the crowded places, but asked for a canal table and only condition was that each of us ordered a meal. Done!! We were seated with kind and prompt service. Got my aperol spritz and was by the water with Rialto in sight. What more can anyone ask for??!! Bliss I tell ya. Anyway, ordered a pizza which was giant for I've person, but was delicious!!! Overpriced based on location but to be expected I suppose. All were great morning we spent almost €200 for 8 people. Early departure next day and boat was picking us up just out front so thought I might ask owner and server if I could use their bathroom-"No we aren't open yet". Do you remember me from yesterday? Good restaurant that is in a prime location with good seafood dishes! Food: ++++ I would definitely get seafood here, and you can't go wrong with some pasta to go with it! We got one pasta dish with seafood (mussels, shrimp, scallops), and another with clams. The amount of seafood you get is pretty decent. Location: +++++ This restaurant is located right on the side of the Grande Canal next to the famous Rialto bridge. While we were eating, we could see the bridge from our seats outside and enjoy the calming sounds of the water, and watch the boats and gondolas roll by. Staff: +++ The only downside to this restaurant is the wait staff. Not very friendly and didn't seem happy to be working. Price: €€ After looking at the menus of the different canal-side restaurants, this had the cheapest prices comparatively. Spent 34 € for 2 pastas with seafood, and a fish entree. Worth it? I already wrote a review for the other Canal Grande but I will write one for this one too. Like I said before, it is a good canal, but it is not as good as the canals we have in the USA, for instance Erie Canal Lock 18 is just as beautiful and far less touristy, plus you can even get a Schlitz cocktail there. Note: I am not sure everyone here knows what a Schlitz cocktail is, so in case you didn't know you can try Googling it. read more

It's perfectly located near the grande canal. The ambiance was romantic, and quiet. We did put. 20 euros deposit to hold our reservation, but when we got there they gave it back to us. Very nice people. Friendly service and the food was very good. read more

YIKES Just go anywhere else. Way too expensive for what it is. I got the salmon. It was about 1.5 inches wide and tasted okay. The grilled veggies were just mush. Couldn't distinguish what type of veggies they were. Told them my issue with the veggies. They said that's how they're prepared. Basically: that's what you ordered, deal with it. Tourist trap. Once you walk by, they try to entice you in. The food menu is overpriced. We came by for their cheap happy hour drinks since it was just off the bridge and we wanted a nice rest. The view is nice though since it's along the waterfront in view of the bridge. Servers here have okay English, some are better than others. When our bill came out, they completely messed up. We specifically sat down for happy hour but they said we didn't order the happy hour items. After talking to a few servers to rectify this, none of them seemed to understand so we went to the original person who told us this and eventually the corrected this. From the many choices of restaurants along the Rialto, we decided to dine at Caffe Ristorante Canal Grande because of one of their female staff who was very friendly and helped explaining their menu and specialties. As soon as we were seated, she served us small cocktails and pate appetizers on the house. We ordered their Turistic lunch special menu, pasta, gnocchi, and grilled fish. All of them were very flavorful, the portion was generous and definitively value for money. Their restaurant was well decorated and you can either dine in or dine outside by the canal. Spaghetti with clams - lemony it was still good but not great Risotto with seafood- delicious flavor but really more like paella than a risotto Antipasto of boiled seafood- not worth I still don't understand how that was 17 euro for nothing View fantastic! We decided to dine at a restaurant on the grand canal for our last night in Venice. After checking out the menus at various restaurants we chose this place. Bad decision! I wish I had locked up reviews for this place before going here. We went with their prix fixed menu. 14€ for a 3 course meal. The food here is disgusting! Everything tasted like it was previously frozen and just heated up. I had their spaghetti with cuttlefish and couldn't even eat two bites of the meal! The whole dish had an extremely fishy taste to it. My husband had lasagna for one of his courses. That too was disgusting. I've had frozen dinners that tasted better than it. Service was nonexistent. He said they were full, however after looking around I think he didn't want 4 black people at his restaurant. The restaurant stayed empty while we ate at the spot next to it. Great little restaurant near the canal and Rialto bridge. We were skeptical given the touristy area but decided to try it out. The restaurant has both Italian and Thai food (two chefs). We tried boiled mantis shrimp, which is not common in the US - it's less like a shrimp and more like a delicate, sweeter version or lobster. Would highly recommend it! The octopus salad was also good and freshly made. They also gave us free prosecco and bottled water, as well as fruit at the end of the meal. read more

They say to not dine at the obvious places in Venice and instead get lost and find a tucked away location. This could not be more true. We stopped for lunch. We ordered a caprese to share and I got gnocchi bolognese. The caprese came out without tomatoes which are a staple in any caprese dish! He brought them out a few minutes later on a separate plate after I think they realized their error. My gnocchi was okay but unremarkable. Service was pretty slow. I had to get other server's attention to get water and our bill. They could also stand to have more restrooms. There are only two so I had to use the men's...shhh! :) The positives are that there is free wifi and it's beautiful right on the grand canal by the Rialto Bridge. read more

This restaurant's service was laughable. I was asked to move tables after I was already settled as well as the waiter being incredibly off putting with how he addressed the guests (not just myself). The food was okay but overpriced. There is also no real barrier between you and the canal when sitting outside so that was incredibly stress inducing. It was clearly a tourist trap but it look crowded enough to where I figured it must be worth it. I was very wrong. My first choice of restaurant to try was closed because it was a Sunday, but I won't be making that mistake again. read more

Typical tourist trap restaurant: great location, sub-par food. Expensive, and they have the nerve to tack on 12% service charge, whereas every other restaurant we dined at in Venice had this included. Service was friendly and good. Don't order the crab, which they have swimming around in a tank by the front door. It was poorly cracked and bits of shell were everywhere in the pasta it is served on. Lot of work to dig out the crab meat, and still shell bits were everywhere. I eat crab often and this was plain lousy. Table by the water made up for some of the shortcomings, but I will not dine here again, nor can I recommend. read more

We had tried several places and this ended up being our best tasting meal but yes a bit more spendy because you are sitting right next to Grand Canal. My meat lasagna was the best because it was not dry and not too cheesy like some others we had. My wife had the gnocchi which was also good. If you want cheaper food then you will not sit by the waterfront. Yes it gets busy so be patient with the service. I rely on yelp a lot when I travel to find the best places to eat, seeing how bad this place was I could not wait until I got home to write a review. I ate here without doing my research since the place I wanted to try had closed 10 minutes prior. Its clearly a tourist trap. They sell pizza and many other "dishes", but If you will only eat pizza you can not sit by the water, only by the sidewalk. They cramp the tables together so if you sit next to some chimney smokers like I was then your night won't be as fun. The Spritzer was ok...If I were you I would get the beer because they do not make it. My husband and I were not very hungry since we had a late lunch. We wanted to have some nice pizza by the canal and a drink before we leave tomorrow at 6 am. The pizza was meh, the price was cheap but honestly the 2 euro pizza slices in the alleys beat this one. I ordered the pizza that comes with tuna/onions and it looked like they opened a can of tuna and placed it on top of the cooked pizza and then warmed it up. We also were not special enough to get a basket of bread because our meal was not expensive lol. I would've never ordered a pricey meal here, some other tourist arrived and their dishes came out in 5 minutes...hmmm no thank you. They charge a 12.5 service fee, their service is wack and they would not make any tip if it weren't for that fee. When you look at the menu before seating they are very nice, then you sit and they will recommend all the expensive dishes that have no price, the more $$ you order the fatter their service charge tip will be. I visited this restaurant looking for decent Italian food and was highly disappointed. My experience started out strange when the waiter asked several tables to switch tables in order to accommodate a larger party. These patrons then elected to leave the restaurant on leu of the waiter's request. I should have followed these people. My waiter was rude: interrupting our orders, requesting that we order in a style that made his job "less difficult", and was often not available for service. Our food took approximately 200 years to come and what came was surely Chef Boyardee. Truly the worst food I've ever consumed. Our party of 6 ordered several different pasta dishes and Each was worse than the first. After several attempts at consuming this mush we decided our gag reflexes couldn't handle the food. When we explained to our waiter that the food was bad and we would please like a discount our waiter refused to make accommodations. His service was disgraceful. "Everyone else is happy but you. This is not my fault." We requested the bill and left. If you do one thing while in Venice let it be avoiding this restaurant. The worst restaurant and service to date. read more
