    On May 2 I had a positive COVID test. Given AHS's efforts to determine when I actually contracted…read morethe disease - AHS gave me the all clear (provided I was improving and free of certain symptoms) yesterday. I do have some lingering symptoms and continue to isolate. Today. A doctor ordered a stat chest X-ray for me to rule out pneumonia. The requisition was sent to CDC Okotoks. They called me - asked the appropriate screening questions and asked me to come in for the scan. Upon arrival they informed me that they would not do the X-ray as their company policy is that it must be at least 14 days since the positive Covid Test. They refused service to a senior who requires a stat X-ray to rule out pneumonia. While they apologized, they stated there is "so much misinformation out there". There isn't - in this case what I experienced is: a). Misalignment between CDCs company policy and the directives of AHS and the Chief Public Health Officer. b). Poor screening before they accepted the requisition and called me to book the appointment. And its conceivable that I experienced a lack of compassion and a service ethic. It was also clear that there was a difference of opinion amongst their staff as I overheard "we should do it - its for pneumonia. We can put on PPE". Regardless, I will ensure that I use the services of a more customer focused organization in the future - and recommend others look elsewhere too. Lack of clear company policy, company policies that are out of alignment with Health Orders and a staff that while apologetic - were clearly more interested in getting me out of there than getting me the treatment I required. This doesn't resonate as high-touch, high-service nor compassionate. Unacceptable to me for a firm that is part of the medical care value chain to act as they did today.

I do have a valid medical reason not to wear one, I was wearing a face shield which I wore for an MRI 2 weeks ago and this was deemed okay. I was deeply upset with this situation, I did wear a mask which I had to hold away from my face or not have my ultra sound. This was absolute discrimination

    Nice clean and organized Crowfoot office…read more The front desk people were very friendly and welcoming, but my experience got turned completely upside down when I met with the technician, Val. She was so rude and condescending, I don't know if she's always like that or just having a bad day but it made the whole experience go down hill fast. Right upon meeting her, no hi or anything to welcome me. Just barked allot of orders at me of what to do. If your looking for the military, no emotional experience, this would be that one with Val. I go for ultra sounds every month and this was the first time at this location and I can honestly say I've never encountered such a rude, cold tech. Usually the ones I encounter are kind, make you feel relaxed and true professionals. Val was the opposite and the whole appointment I felt that she would have rather be any where but there. At one point during the appointment I needed to face her to do a side scan of my stomach and she asked me not to look at her. So awkward when your facing someone. It's also such a strange thing to say to a patient? The 25 minute appointment consisted of allot of negative comments and the most uncomfortable when your in such a vulnerable state.I was very quiet and just listened since I just wanted to get it over with. After the appointment I was going to stop in to the front desk to let them know what had transpired at my appointment but they had some patients they were helping and I didn't want to take up any of there time since they were so kind when I arrived and I didn't want them to have to deal with Val and her lack of service. I mentioned this experience to my Dr after we reviewed the results a few days later, which I also had to get re-done else where since Val didn't even do a good job on my ultra sound, so a definite waste of me time to have to re-do it. My Dr suggested I contact Mayfair Diagnostics Crowfoot to let them know about what transpired at my appointment with the tech and to also let them know the employee didn't do a good job and I needed to go the following week to another diagnostic to get it re-done properly. My Dr also stated they could contact her to verify the ultra sound wasn't done properly and my concerns at the appointment. I would give the front desk staff a 5 star since they truly are friendly and want to do a good job. I would give the ultra sound tech Val, less then a one star if I could. The most cold, unfriendly person you can encounter and it's sad that this person deals with people.Will never go back to this location because of her. I will continue getting my ultra sounds else where and at least it will get done correctly and with a professional.
