All the employees I came in contact with were extremely kind and accommodating. I must especially mention Jiselle - Assistant Clinic Manager and thank her for her help with a home pick up. Since I was done so quickly, I should have waited more than an hour and a half, but Jiselle called Access Calgary and arranged an earlier pickup. I replied "sorry, I will not provide that personal information to someone calling me. It goes against everything security companies advise us NOT to do...we should NEVER provide our full name, address and DOB to an incoming caller. Let's find a better way to do this." The Mayfair caller had no idea what to do, other than she wouldn't schedule me, and I couldn't call HER back. I finally convinced her that we could select a convenient time, she could call my doctor's office to relay the appointment info. MAYFAIR MUST update their processes to come up with a state of the art booking system. This is 2025, not 1975.

I needed to get an ultrasound on my leg so I was sent here by the hospital. The offices are on the…read moresecond floor of a somewhat tired looking plaza behind Westbrook Mall. There is an elevator, although it takes forever which is weird given the lack of height of the building. There are very large, clear signs guiding you in the only direction down the hall you can really go. I had an early afternoon appointment. I walked in and there was no one waiting. The lady at the desk took my info quickly. She was pleasant although not overly friendly. I sat down and waited no more than 10 minutes (and I had been early). The ultrasound technician was very friendly and professional. She did her thing, always explaining what she was doing and where she'd be touching so there would be no surprises. It really put me at ease. The whole appointment took less than half an hour (including a short wait for results to take back to the hospital). If I need services like these again, this location is a top choice compared to some others. There is also a lot of parking which is handy!

On May 2 I had a positive COVID test. Given AHS's efforts to determine when I actually contracted…read morethe disease - AHS gave me the all clear (provided I was improving and free of certain symptoms) yesterday. I do have some lingering symptoms and continue to isolate. Today. A doctor ordered a stat chest X-ray for me to rule out pneumonia. The requisition was sent to CDC Okotoks. They called me - asked the appropriate screening questions and asked me to come in for the scan. Upon arrival they informed me that they would not do the X-ray as their company policy is that it must be at least 14 days since the positive Covid Test. They refused service to a senior who requires a stat X-ray to rule out pneumonia. While they apologized, they stated there is "so much misinformation out there". There isn't - in this case what I experienced is: a). Misalignment between CDCs company policy and the directives of AHS and the Chief Public Health Officer. b). Poor screening before they accepted the requisition and called me to book the appointment. And its conceivable that I experienced a lack of compassion and a service ethic. It was also clear that there was a difference of opinion amongst their staff as I overheard "we should do it - its for pneumonia. We can put on PPE". Regardless, I will ensure that I use the services of a more customer focused organization in the future - and recommend others look elsewhere too. Lack of clear company policy, company policies that are out of alignment with Health Orders and a staff that while apologetic - were clearly more interested in getting me out of there than getting me the treatment I required. This doesn't resonate as high-touch, high-service nor compassionate. Unacceptable to me for a firm that is part of the medical care value chain to act as they did today.

Booking via phone allows client to inform the center they want to have the service. But waiting time is too long. I wait 45 mins without a chance to talk. Booking online is convenient but the website does not allow client to choose the center they want to! Twice it arranges a very far from my place and I have to cancel the booking. I believe it would be helpful for the clinic to inform women in advance if the ultrasound technician will be male. While I understand the professional nature of these procedures, I was uncomfortable being asked to undress and have my body handled by an unknown male technician. Even in a medical setting, I feel it is important to be aware of the gender of the person performing the procedure so that women can make an informed decision about their comfort levels. I hope this feedback can be considered to improve patient experiences going forward.
