I recently went in to get some Anti virus installed on my ThinkPad laptop. The man who helped me out was absolutely no help. He recommended his personal anti-virus software, in which he proceeded to plug a USB into my laptop. At first it was fine, all of my spam was gone. But within the next couple days I went to check on my Crypto account, where I had over $20,000 in Bitcoin and XRP. All of this was wiped out and my account was left with nothing. I am led to believe that the man that installed his personal "anti virus" had stolen my blockchain key and got into my crypto account where he took all of my earnings. This was for my grandpa's retirement and he has been depositing his social welfare checks in there for over 10 years. Now he is in Cancun, Mexico with no way of paying for a return flight back here to the States! Have you seen what they are doing in Guadalajara?!?!?! This mobile/computer repair shop is here to try and steal your money. I had previously had a good experience with the seller with a computer fix. They fixed up my laptop with the small issue I had. Unfortunately there was a red flag even in this smooth process when the repair guy mentioned that he bought the part to fix my computer off of eBay, which usually doesn't have the most reliable sellers. Not long after my computer broke I took my phone in for a repair since it had broken around the same time and thought they were reputable. The repair guy changed what needed to be repaired every single time I came back for my phone. During this process I was called a liar and scolded, even though I had never lied to the guy. He ended up buying some parts from who knows where and in the process of trying to fix the parts, the parts broke. Even though the parts were broken when in their possession, the repair man held my phone hostage and wanted me to pay for the parts, which I unfortunately had to do as I needed the data that was on the phone. He then tried to send the parts back for a refund, but said the people he ordered from wouldn't take any refunds at all, even though the parts were still usable according to him. Anyone in business should know not to buy parts from places/people that don't accept returns at all. The worker also never explained that if the parts were damaged while in their possession, that I would have to pay for them, until after he said the parts were broken.On top of that the repair man didn't even give the parts I had to pay for to me, even after they said they couldn't take returns (which he should have known before ordering if they accepted returns). If you asked me to give a review before turning in my phone I would've given a 4/5 out of five stars because they did a decent job with my computer. But because of the terrible handling of my phone, the rudeness experienced when they caused trouble, and me being charged close to $200 for my phone to still be broken. My husband brought my son's cell phone screen in for repair in July and spent 150.00 on the screen, case and a special screen protector that the employee hit with a hammer. Two months ago my son came home from school with a broken screen. We stopped by the store to see if they can do anything and were told it was our fault and all they can offer is 20 off a new screen, and there was no backup on their product.The employee who came out of the back room was extremely rude and disrespectful his excuse was "we can not control what people do with their phones." read more

These guys are hysterical. I went in because I thought my camera screen was cracked- turns out it was just dirty..... I appreciate that they didn't take advantage of my stupidity and charge me for a screen I didn't need. Then they cleaned my phone and suggested a new case because mine is almost antique. So they put on a new case- which was way more affordable than prior cases and screen protectors I have purchased. Campus Mobile Solutions employees don't care about making money as much as they care about making their customers happy & try to do the best they can to help. I went in yesterday with problems restoring my backup to my new phone and CJ managed to help me. It took two days but he tried everything he knew and it eventually ended up working. I called apple twice & went to T-Mobile for help and no one wanted to work with me as much as CJ did. I am so appreciative for everything he has done for me and I can honestly say this is the best cell phone repair/help on campus. I have been to others throughout the years of going to UIUC & no one has had as good of customer service as Campus Mobile Solutions. I got my screen replaced here about 5 months ago. The service was great, super friendly, and quick. They also gave a warranty in case anything got messed up with my new screen. This seemed great, until 5 months later when my entire screen started to die. I took it in and the guy at the desk told me it was "humidity damage" that was my fault, and they could only give me a $20 discount on a replacement. Considering this has never happened to me in the 4 years of me owning a phone, it definitely makes me question the quality of the screen assemblies they use. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S5 2 days after buying it. The case did nothing to protect it and I, of course, did not have insurance because I've never been in this situation. I looked into Mike's Wireless and since the S5 had just been released, they had to ship it off to have someone fix it. I cannot go a week without a phone, so I looked into other solutions. I spoke with someone at Campus Mobile Solutions and they told me they would have to order a new screen, but once in, it would take 2 hours tops before I had my phone back. I wasn't able to come in until after business hours and they said that was no problem. I was extremely pleased with the customer service and the price was acceptable. I wanted to replace my iPhone 5 battery and thought it would be a good idea to get it done right on Green St. It only took them less than 10min to replace it and I was a (temporary) happy customer. Unfortunately, the day after - placing my first phone call after the battery replacement - I noticed that the microphone was not working. So I stopped by again and brought it up with Miko, who said he blames me for the broken mic but doesn't have proof so he will look into it. He then used a metal scraper to free the holes at the bottom of the phone claiming this might be the problem, which turned out to not be the case but instead created rather sharp edges around every single hole. He then replaced the mic with a new component which worked properly. I left him with the phone for an hour to come pick up the phone afterwards. Everything worked, but I complained about the sharp edges, which led him to quickly go into the back of the office and smoothened it with sandpaper. Needless to say that not only the area of the holes lost its anodization but he also got the edges of the the phone itself. No surprise if quickly dragging it over sandpaper for one to two seconds. When pointing this out, he only mentioned that he honestly doesn't care about it since it's a five year old phone. In all fairness, he offered to replace the entire aluminum rear case for free, but after seeing and hearing how he deals with electronic and metal components (using a metal spudger to disconnect components, which - in my personal opinion - smoked the microphone in the first place; applying sandpaper to the aluminum rear case; scraping around with a metal scraper), I was not expecting to get a better (or even properly) working phone out of this, so I passed. I blame myself for going for the cheaper option of replacing the battery, which led to this bad experience. But since he is using genuine Apple components, something has to make up for the price difference, which - at least speaking from my experience - seems to be quality and service. I learnt my lesson and will avoid this shop at all cost! read more

CJ was GREAT! I called and asked if he could replace an iPhone 6 battery and he said yes and they were in stock. He said it wouldn't take but about 20 minutes. Super. I took it in and he replaced it while I watched and it took him about 15 minutes. Plus he told me not to charge it til it got to 10% capacity as it would help the battery out. That was real nice. 40 bucks. Great deal. I had been calling Simply Mac at the mall and all they did was give me the run-around and it would take 5-7 DAYS! Not that my time is all that important but 5-7 days vs 15 minutes is no contest. read more
