PHENOMENAL service. I worked with PS the first time back in the early 2000s and was so impressed…read morethat I took them with me to 3 other employers since. Currently they're handling payroll for my non-profit Reading Partners in Oakland. We're in several states, and have a very complex payroll with AmeriCorps members who are SUI-exempt. ADP couldn't get it right and numerous other vendors told us they had no idea how to handle that complexity. Payroll Systems' Tony Bowden sat in the demo and when we asked how that would be handled he said "I'll need to think on that one because it's a bit unusual" and about 10 minutes later he said "I've got it...we'll handle it by pay code." Done. Not a single issue since go-live, no vendor errors, no vendor-created tax amendments. With ADP we had, on average, 6 tax amendments each year, all due to ADP's system limitations. Great software, great people, accurate processing of all transactions; then top it off with phenomenal customer service. Call and guess what? You're not a "case number" or a "company code" or a "ticket number". You're a person with a name and usually the person who answers the phone knows you by voice. You get a dedicated rep, quick response time, and the benefits administration piece our employees love because the response is quick and accurate. Make the move - you won't regret it!

From day one, John the owner has delivered white glove service that you simply cannot find at a big box payroll company. He took the time to understand my business, walked me through the transition personally, and never once made me feel like my questions were a burden. It is rare to find someone who cares this much about getting it right. His staff is sharp, attentive, and genuinely a dream to work with. Every call is answered with care, every issue is resolved with speed and accuracy, and I never feel lost in the shuffle. If you are a small business owner looking for a payroll provider that actually treats you like family, stop looking. Ledger Payroll brings the human touch back to business and it is everything I needed and more. Support local. Trust people who care. Go with Ledger.

She simply needs to call quickbooks to correct her mistake. We sent screenshots from the account and Jackie is 100% non responsive or helpful. Very unprofessional, especially after I paid her over 10k in a few months. She freely charged my account, yet doesn't have the decency to professionally off-board an account or at the very least take herself off as primary admin so my new accountant can access the account. If she actually is a bookkeeper speaking with quickbooks would be very easy for her to take care of this. Do not trust or hire this business. If this is not rectified, I will have no other choice than to take her to court for the money she has cost me and for the work she charged me for but didn't not complete.

I wanted to edit this review, because it made me sound like I reviewed while mad/upset…read more I have been working with this company for 5+ years, & I used to file single. Once I was married & we had complicated things to add, we made sure to go to Viet. I used to get to make an appointment with him in person & he answered any & all of my questions, before I filed. But sadly COVID hit & things changed to online. My husband & I have changed careers several times since 2022, & we had a baby, so there are several things to add into your taxes. This year, we spent over $15k in medical expenses, had our first child, & hoped we would get some kind of a tax refund. But unfortunately that didn't happen. When I asked about adding money to our IRAs, or why we didn't get to file itemized, or how else we can reduce our tax bracket, we were told it was a "paid question that required a paid appointment". Anyway, I think you can get your own taxes done for free or less than you're charged by this guy. He can't help you with basic questions without requiring money so... stay aware & ask questions!
