I purchased an RV here virtually found to be worth much less than I paid. This location misrepresented the unit to be in good condition. It turned to be a nightmare. The staff created a photo array and video leaving out obvious deficiencies in the thousands. When I called the Corp headquarters, they made matters worse by stating that they found nothing was done wrong. They did not represent the unit in its poor condition and placed a loan for 40% more than the actual value. Stay away from this Camping World due to their business practices resemble a bait and switch organization. "Our Pre-Owned Peace-of-Mind Promise means you can be confident you did not sacrifice quality for price. We thoroughly inspect every used camper inside and out, and we only sell used RVs that meet our high standards". Camping World also said this unit had a "clean seal." They also claim "Camping World is dedicated to providing its' customers with the best pre-owned RVs in the industry. Our pre-owned RVs aren't just acquired and then sold back out to the public. They go through an extensive process and are held to rigorous standards, ensuring they're a step above the competition. You can trust a pre-owned RV from Camping World." My used RV missed this extensive process, or they knew of the problems. I was confident of quality; they were not forthcoming. The repairs and customer service is horrible. They do not call you back. They had my RV for 9 weeks to make repairs, order parts. Parts that could have been picked up locally were ordered and took longer. Finally got the RV back and the dust inside was thick, they wanted it another day to clean. I would not recommend this place for repairs. I could add more but I think I said enough. read more

THEATER SEATING-DON'T BUY IT!! Part #'s: 70232, 70234 and 70236. Camping World should be held responsible for backing up products they elect to sell from third party distributors. We are very upset that after spending over $2,100 to replace our original sofa with a beautiful reclining one, it is destroyed in 2-1/2 years. We park our RV under a shelter to preserve it from sunlight and moisture and keep a dehumidifier in it when not in use. We only camp 3x a year. These items are poorly designed. First with metal handles that protrude between the sofa pieces. I've attempted to contact C.W. about this but they told me to return it for a refund BUT I don't have anything to replace it with. Not sure how they sell anything here with the receptionist making the determination on whether or not you see a salesperson... Went in today just to browse the inventory... asked for a sales person and was instructed by the receptionist to fill out a form with my info and what I was looking for.... well, I don't know what I'm looking for since Camping World was the first place that I started looking for an RV. I asked if I had to fill out a form just to talk to a sales person or see the inventory and she told me"that's not what I was saying".. so then I said, can I talk with a sales person... she then told me yes, after I fill out the form? Crazy... loss sale because of the "receptionist"....wow, then I told her that she was making this way too hard to even look she stated "have a nice day"... very nice, sarcastic on top of I guess being the boss. So, I guess there are many other places to shop just trying to support the local St Augustine business (even though a franchise the people are mostly from the area). read more

Great customer service, very straight forward. My wife and I purchased a new 5th wheel from Scott and Rick helped us with all the paperwork. They were both very professional, friendly and helpful. Scott is one of the best salesperson I ever dealt with. He wasn't pushy, was very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. I can't recommend him, Rick and this Camping World location enough! In February 2020 I purchased a 27' Forest River Ozark Toy hauler. Due to covid I was unable to take the first trip in it until November 2020. Well, we had a number of issues such as the fresh water outlet was mismarked so we flooded the trailer. There were several other issues as well. I took the RV to Gander RV in St. Augustine, FL where it was purchased on November 25th. I called number times to get the status on repairs and either got nothing but excuses or no returned phones call. In February 2021 I was told the RV was ready to be picked up. While checking inside we found new damage had been done to the 2nd bathroom door knob. Note: There was no issue with that door! Some how they managed to break the knob and wallow out the hole where you could see daylight thru where the knob was attached and the bolt was hanging cockeyed! Also, on the left side in front of the slide the flooring was scrunched up and was not repaired as the right side had been. It was in the initial damage report but the service department failed to fix that side. I left the RV there to have those items repaired but after numerous phone calls to Lexi (service person) all I was getting was excuses that they had to get the warranty department to approve. That is crap!! The damage to the knob was the fault of Gander personnel and the flooring issue was in the initial repair report and had already been approved to be repaired. It is now July 26, 2021 and I still have no idea when my RV will be completely repaired!! I am usually very patient and understand that Covid caused havoc but this problem is off the charts! I would never again purchase from Gander RV in St. Augustine, FL and I will not even suggest to anyone that they go there to purchase. Service after the sale is non existent! read more

We bought a New Montana fifth wheel, from camping world of Saint Augustine in October 2016. We brought it in a year later to have special things added and service done. After having the rig for three months, and countless phone calls to get things expedited. They still didn't have the work completed! The single most incompetent service department I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with! I feel very sorry for the poor people behind the desk. Undoubtedly they get yelled that daily. Three days after getting our rig back; Winegard system still malfunctioning,(no improvement at all). We asked to have washer leveled, their notes say cabinet it sits on is collapsing, ( so they didn't do anything!) But the kicker is the washer was reinstalled without hoses being tightened, ( no wonder they left the water turned off)! Asked to have stronger struts installed under bed, ( they replaced with the exact same struts)! And these are the things we can see! It makes me worried about the things I can't see, like did they do the service that they charged us for? I have no confidence in thatall! read more

Disgusted and Angry ! My advice- NEVER use Gander's service department in St. Augustine FL. We purchased a brand new rig and spent a great deal of money. After the first three months we noticed issues. Too many negative details to share but to sum it up, while on their property, a window was busted out and no one checked on the unit for months (while waiting for the parts to come) meanwhile it was during the rainy hurricane season... Weeks of raining inside our new RV so the cabinets and flooring started to separate (destroying corners). When I arrived to inspect the unit they told me that damage was "because you left the slides out". Keep in mind this was a brand new unit. Also the refrigerator stopped working - after the water leak. They took out our existing refrigerator that stopped working and put in a new one (sitting on their lot over 8 months waiting this time for that repair) the new one was too small, didn't fit so it sat uneven in the wall and while doing so they also ruined the wood around the casing, and tore the linoleum in the main living area. They refuse to take responsibility for all of this as well. BTW- when we dropped off our rig for repairs, all tanks were empty but when we picked it up, our sewage had to be dumped because their staff had been using the toilet for their personal use. Disgusted and Angry! Their service team and service managers will not work with you or fix their errors. They only care about the sale and you're on your own after that. And after your NEW rig has sat on their lot for over 400 days (not a typo, 400 days), you still have to drive to that location to get someone to speak with you because they won't return your calls. Be prepared to wait in their lobby for a long time because the supervisor is never available for a customer that has a concern, or a rig that has been on their lot for over a years time In total. Called after arriving from South Carolina upon realizing we were having electrical problems and could not get the heater to stay on. It's winter and a cold front was in the way so it was requested that the matter be given priority if possible. Just make sure that you check any work that you bring in to get serviced. We didn't really have a problem with the customer service employees but the quality of work from the service technicians and the service manager Ed, is what cause them to get this review. We spent a lot of money there doing annual maintenance and making sure everything looked good. We take pride in our assets and try to keep them in great running condition. We brought the camper in for a cleaning and to have the sealing around the roof checked. When we got it back, it was damaged it looked like someone stepped on the edge of the roof and pulled the roof away from the side. When we took it back and spoke to manager Ed, he said that he would fix it, pull the roof back and reseal it. He said they have been having alot of problems with service there and why he was transferred to fix the service department. I asked for his resolution in writing but her said that it wasn't necessary he was a man of his word. Needless to say, when the time came to fix it, he conveniently forgot the conversation. We brought it in a few days later so they could resolve the issue, when we stopped to pick it up a few days later, nothing was done. It was exactly how we left it. They said to leave it and they would fix it, they did add some new sealant but didn't pull the roof back as he had said that he would. We asked the service reps who stated that the manager didn't say that he would do that (my husband and I were both in the room and I know what he said; now I know why he wouldn't put it in writing. By now we were very upset but knew it wasn't the service reps fault. Not worth the anger we decided to mark it off as a loss and leave; however, they couldn't find our keys so we left it overnight again and had to drive back in for the third time. We went back today for the 4th time since they found the keys. By the way, we have to drive an hour round trip each of these trips. We wanted to talk to the manager, Ed, but he never returned our calls. Finally fed-up and angry we marked it off as a loss and a lesson learned. Went to hook up the trailer and they let the battery die. So tomorrow will be the 5th trip to Camping World. Frustrated doesn't even begin to express how we feel. Again, when servicing your camper, trailer or whatever you better check it out before you leave Camping World, there is a good possibility that the work was not done or there is damage. Go somewhere else if you can to get the service completed. read more

They will take in your unit for repair, lie about the status of it the whole time, then when you call them on the fact that they didn't do what they promised, they will lose all paperwork associated with your RV, included your KEYS!!!! (Yes, they lost my damn keys). So now my RV is significantly more damaged than it was when it went in for repairs a year ago, they won't fix it for the originally agreed upon price, and they still haven't replaced the keys. Camping World installed a new air conditioner and neglected to transfer an interface module located in the old air conditioner to the new. This part works with the Comfort Control Center and controls the furnace. They clearly did not know what they were doing and threw away a necessary part. Now I cannot use the existing furnace. I was told that my only option was to purchase another furnace. Since I was not the original purchaser of the air conditioner, there is nothing they will do to help. The service manager strongly and rudely claimed no responsibility for their error. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. read more

When we first went in to purchase a toyhauler the salesman we had was extremely mis informed on everything he assured us of!!! We purchased a 17ft Ozark Lite our salesman called and said it was inspected cleaned and ready for delivery. NOT!!!!! upon first view I noticed that the tail light was taped on obviously broken then realized there were SO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS!!! It was a NIGHTMARE on top of everything our truck could not pull it so we had to trade our paid off truck in for a bigger motor truck and now I have another payment!!!! We were do mad the trailer Never was safe to pull for us. We didn't even use it!!!! Spoke to George the manager he said he wanted to make things right. Eventually we dealt with a WONDERFUL salesperson named FELICIA she immediately jumped through hoops and sat Geoege down and made sure that we were properly taken care off. Duped in Florida - 2014 Camping World - St Augustine Florida. Here's our story. We found a Roadtrek on the internet. It was at Camping World in St Augustine Florida. We worked with a man name Brad Field. We live in Oregon. We talked with Brad extensively about the vehicle, asked about how they can be sure it is in good working order and Brad told us that they do a 225 point inspection on it. He told my husband that we would be very pleased with the condition of the vehicle. He sent photos, and really talked up the vehicle. He told us that they had all the repair and service records from the previous owner. We communicated with him a lot before making an offer. Then we purchased our plane tickets to the tune of $900 and off we went. Very excited. We were going to purchase the vehicle, stay in the area for a few days in case something didn't work and then meander our way back to Oregon. We were picked up in Jacksonville and driven down to Camping World in St. Augustine. When we arrived there were two mechanics trying to fix the holding tanks on the vehicle. The fill rates were not displaying properly. My first view of the RoadTrek sort of took me back. It was not the clean vehicle we had seen in the photos. The awning was missing (oh they just noticed that it was broken and ordered parts). They knew we had plans of driving away the next day so how were they going to put the awning back on? Our smartest move was to hire a Mercedes mechanic to come with us and do an inspection. This guy was smart and savvy. He measured the brakes (they were 50% gone). He insisted on driving to the septic dump with the men who were working on the RV so he could see what they were doing. On the way, a very loud squeal emerged and the mechanics just blew it off as something minor. Our mechanic knew differently and confronted them about it. Nobody had an answer. When we asked Brad Field (sales guy we had worked with) for the service records of the vehicle, he said he would have to go find them, and then he just never came back. I found him just sitting in his office. But one of the most telling parts of our examination was when we found one of those oil stickers on the corner of the driver's windows. It was a sticker from 2011! showing when the oil should be changed again. WHAT? Nobody had noticed that sticker and removed it. It probably meant that the vehicle had not had it's oil changed in 3 years! All in all, the RoadTrek was not fit to drive let alone purchase. To name just a few of the problems: water floating in the outside porch light, missing awning, rubber seals around the windows all cracked or missing, salt corrosion on the underside, some inside cabinets off their hinges, bad brakes, dirty inside and that noise (which if they had had a lift - they didn't - our mechanic could have shown them was not a minor problem but something much larger). We hadn't even gotten to the engine yet. We talked over the problem with our mechanic and he said, absolutely do not purchase this vehicle. Boy were we stupid or what? Duped by a dealership in Florida. It felt like we were in a Carl Hiaasen novel. We got pretty nasty with good ole Brad and he couldn't even look at us. He just kept sinking lower and lower into his chair. The dealership manager came to see what all the commotion was about and got all puffy when we told them they were a bunch of crooks. I told him that he should at least pay our plane tickets home or a rental car for us since they had gotten us to Florida on false pretenses. He dropped into the "I'm just the manager. I would have to talk to my owner." Stay away from this dealership. We learned a very expensive lesson. Stay close to home to buy your vehicle or send in a mechanic before you ever get on a plane to go look for yourself. Check out your dealership on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau long before you get interested in making an offer on one of their RV. We were naive in thinking that we could trust this company and their salesperson, Brad Field. You don't have to be! read more

Gander Rv in St Augustine is by far the worse. Absolutely no problem getting you approved, selling you junk, along with a useless extended warranty and sending you packing. 2 brand new RVs from this location because they lost ours in the back field in for repairs and calling us 6 months later to let us know it was ready for pick up in 2019. When we arrived it was waterlogged from being out in a field, all cubbies and outside kitchen moldy. We refused to take it. Bought in June 2018, they found it January 2019. So many incompetent employees. However, Dana worked with us and got us going with a brand new winnebago. Of course an up charge. Picked it up, brought it home and generator carburetor had to be fixed. Ok fixed. Now onto May 2021 after using it minimal in 2020. Slide out would not work after we arrived at a campground. Good Sam sent a technician blamed the switch, couldn't locate one. I locate switch order n ship to my house so I could switch it out when I get home $$$. Stop by Kelly Ford $$$they blame winnebago for ebrake light being on. Get home call gander rv, they send a tech to our home$$$. He says it's the controller, go online order it easy to switch out $$$. Nope not the problem, lucky I was able to return. However. I tried calling service again and they refused to take my calls or return messages. I take it to another Ford place $$$ connect it back to factory Ford to get ebrake light off and able to use cruise. All this time not able to use my slide from May until September 2021. Luckily I found a little local Gem, Robbins on US1. They charged me a service hour and $6.00 for the fuse. Nothing was paid by Ford or Good Sam. But all these locations kept kicking the can down the road. Claiming it was everyone else's problem. Now a kicker today trying to cancel my Fortune Good Sam Warranty... my money's being held hostage. The service department obviously rushes their techs through useless training and the Gentleman George was telling a customer that an RV he paid cash for was his problem because they failed to disclose truthfully issues with the RV he purchased. My recommendations for rv buyers is shop a mom n pop location where sales and service matter. And any repairs needed if not covered 100% again find a small local repair shop. read more

We came in on a rainy afternoon, wanting to see what was in stock as we are in the market for our next high-end coach. Had to fill out a card before even walking on the lot. No real argument there - gotta keep the riff raff out. After the first snarky remark the hairs on the back of my neck began to stand out. After the second, I started to get red in the face. This is a review of Camping world's service dept. The first thing I will say is that the ONLY reason I brought my 5th wheel to be serviced is that I have an extended warranty on it. Aprox 3 months ago, 29 Nov 2018. Brought in my RV for insurance work, and warranty repair on A/C. A/C covered but insurance paid for the rest. Damaged roof. Had to have a complete roof and and new A/C. No issues with the Roof and A/c repair. Problem arose when I picked up the RV. Batteries 100% dead. down to 0%. Evidently they didn't have it plugged. Charged the batteries. took It home.. kept it plugged in. Batteries would not charge.. Turns out the convertor was blown. Can't prove they did anything, but it was a pretty weird coincidence. Took it back in for the convertor. Covered by extended warranty. Picked it up about a week later. Again my batteries (new 6 volt trojans) were stone dead. Charged it, and checked convertor, and all was good.. Batteries checked good. Took it home, and put it in our storage area. Got a chance to go clean and inspect it aprox 3 weeks later.. Went to plug it in to my generator, and discovered that my 30 amp extension cord and two 50 to 30 amp adapters were missing. It was obviously my fault that I didn't check my equipment when I picked it up, but it's also obvious that the items were somehow taken out of my RV and left at Camping world. Subsequent call to the service representative resulted in nothing. Never received a call back although she said she would check to see. I'm very very disappointed in Camping world service department. The tech obviously do not take care of the Rv's as if they had, they would have ensured that it was at least plugged in, and made sure that if they used my equipment, they replaced it. Highly recommend that if you use Camping world service, take a very good inventory before dropping it off and also check when picking up. I failed to do that, and now am out of about. $75.00 worth of equipment. read more

Service and installation of Primus IQ trailer braking module was amateur hour to be diplomatic about it. Complaining regularly got me from floor mgr to service mgr to general mgr. no one accountable. Just passed the buck and never called back. This service dept (corporate policy?) is simply a mill to sell parts, with quick, shoddy installs at a markup and get you out the door with no accountability. I tried to get help repeatedly before writing something like this but they didn't care enough to even try to make things right. read more

We were on our way to this location today when I read all the terrible reviews....needless to say, we were a little nervous! We were VERY pleasantly surprised with our experience! The receptionist that greeted us couldn't have been more pleasant and she even said we were welcome to walk the lot alone if we wanted to. We chose to work with a salesperson since we pretty much knew what we want and don't want! Andrea, the salesperson was delightful and we saw plenty of other shoppers on the lot as well. Bought a 2017 Forest River FR3. Major electrical problem after storing the unit I went to use and found all three batteries stone dead cost me $400 dollars so the I could use it for a trip I had planned. I think they knew about the problem because when I took it there one of the mechanics told me the charged it a bit why maybe because he knew also the new batteries were also dead bought a charger. I was not in his office more than 2 minutes....fir real. He did not want to sell me what I wanted...a small pull behind camper. Guess I'd not enough of a commission. Treated with no respect, out of his office....receptionist looked puzzled at my quick visit. General manager was apologetic however the first impression had been made. My advice is AVOID camping world at all cost! We were greeted by a nice older woman trying to sell us good Sam membership. She told us about the great deals on certain items. I was there for a small part for our faucet. As I looked around, I noticed some "sales" items. Seemed like the price had been marked up, then reduced to a discount price well above any other retail store. That was one thing. The part I needed was not on the display rack, so I went to the parts counter, where I stood and waited for 5 minutes until 1 of the 3 people behind the counter decided to stop discussing their previous evening, and wait on me. I showed her the part, she said "I don't think we have that ". She then walked to where I just looked, came back and said nope, we don't have this part. I left. End of story. Oh sorry, not yet. Ed to the rescue. After our tow vehicle caught fire and was destroyed, we were 1500 miles from home without working left turn signal or brake light on our class C motor home. On our way back from Jacksonville Florida we stopped at camping world Saint Augustine because we're looking to buy an RV or fifth wheel we were a little early so we waited in the car for 35 minutes until it opened and staff showed up went inside and asked for a sales person. Was told to fill out a form with all our information in order to look. She said they had 20 acres of RVs and wouldn't let anyone just walk around without having a name I Asked well how would I know what a RV cost because we've been to a few big-name places they send a sales rep with you to give you information dry weight costs and such she said go to the other camping world May have all the cost prices. I wish I could give less than 1 star for this place. Found a part that we needed on there website for 50% off. This store will not honor the on-line price without signing up for a membership. I called the corporate number and was told that no membership was required for the sale price, the store still will not honor that price. Amazingly enough, WalMart even honors on-line pricing. We have dealt with this store since buying our RV there 5 years ago (it STILL has not had the promised repairs done from when we bought it). A friend took his RV in for repair and it came back in worse shape than it went in. Broken handle on the refrigerator (it wasn't broken when he took it in), he was billed for services not performed and a routine maintenance of his air conditioner turned into an AC unit that no longer worked. We initially had a very good experience with Gander RV but the follow up has been horrendous. I do not recommend you leaving without "walk through" repairs complete or at least an appointment on the books. They needed to order parts and asked us to come back in a week. My fiancé has been calling since before Memorial Day weekend. Three times this week he's left his number and been promised a call back from D in sales or S in service. We have now had to post pone our trip. The ordered parts and additional work was a part of our sale and Gander RV has not followed through. 08 NOV 2020 To: Gander RV and Heartland RV Management From: John D Spyker (Customer # 241620160) Subject: Experience with GANDER RV (Saint Augustine Fl-Dealer) and Heartland RV (manufacture) in reference to Pioneer RG-22 Camper/Trailer Summary: The Gander RV's services department's fell significantly short of any reasonable or expectation. The warranty that is offered on all new units is not a Gander RV warranty but a combination of several manufacturers' warranties. If there are issues with a new camper and the service department is required to repair it under warranty, they reach out to the manufacturer or component companies to claim the warranty. This causes significant delays in repair. Also, if there are any disputes from a manufacturer or component company, they proved unable or unwilling to resolve most disputes without intervention from the owner. Communication between service management, service personnel and service technicians was poor. Quality assurance is nearly non-existent. Service Management actively avoid conflict resolution. Service management did offer a few minor amenities (an extra sway bar and below standard repair to minor damage to camper at no additional charge), but this compensation fell significantly short of making things right. The manufacturer (Heartland) produces a product that is poorly constructed and designed while their warranty department goes above and beyond in their efforts to dispute valid repair claims. Gander RV continues to conduct business with this company despite reporting routine dissatisfaction of interaction with the company. Major Material Issue Summary: Problem 1: Broken Shower Drain- repair periods 1-3 - never fully resolved Problem 2: Wheel Well Fender Defect - repair period 1/2 - warranty dispute Problem 3: Leaking Toilet Flush Valve- repair period 2-3 Problem 4: Refrigerator- repair period 4 Other issues: Long repair times largely due to lack of Communication and reluctance to cover warranty related issues.
