After driving back to Ohio on the bone shattering I-75, noticed the smell of propane when we were setting up camp at East Harbor State Park in Ohio. Called up this camping world and were able to get in two days later. They did an excellent job of diagnosing the leak and correcting it. Was a line that went to our outdoor grill. Looks like we'll be using 2 pound propane tanks as they needed to cap the line. I really appreciated Christina and the team of technicians that worked on our home! Thank you. read more

This is a true story. We took our RV to this service department for a shower pan replacement. During that repair, they cracked the top half of the shower surround, which they were supposed to replace. One month later, we have simply been told, "Sorry, it's still on order," leaving us to deal with and complete that repair ourselves. Even more seriously, during the shower pan replacement, the drain was not reconnected. We unknowingly took approximately a 20-minute shower, sending an estimated 60 gallons of water into the basement/underbelly of our RV. This resulted in multiple trips of approximately four hours each way, significant time away from work, and an enormous amount of stress trying to make sure our RV was properly inspected and repaired. Because our factory warranty had only about three weeks remaining, we made one very simple request: stand behind the consequences of the drain they failed to reconnect for one year. Water-related damage does not necessarily reveal itself immediately, and we wanted reassurance that if a problem related to this incident appeared later, we would not be left paying for their mistake. We did not ask for money. We did not ask for anything beyond them standing behind the mistake they made. I was then told our situation was being "escalated" to a higher level and that someone would contact us within two or three days. It has now been a week, and we have received zero response from anyone regarding that escalation. Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. When we later arrived to pick up our RV during heavy rain, the main entrance door and a basement compartment door were left open. There was standing water inside, and it took four bath-size towels to dry the saturated areas. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. This could have been an opportunity for the service department and Camping World to take responsibility, communicate clearly, and restore our confidence. Instead, every additional incident--and now the complete lack of response to an escalation--has made that confidence harder to restore. We sincerely hope our experience leads to improvements in workmanship, quality control, communication, accountability, and the procedures used to protect customers' RVs while they are in this dealership's care. read more

Working on a deal for a Trailer that needed a tire fixed at camper's world Rossford Ohio. Had financing set just waiting for closing. I was told the trailer would be fixed and ready. Called to confirm pick up and set a time for 4pm to sign. Trailer was not ready or fixed. They had over a week to get ready. Money in hand a trip planned for the weekend with nonrefundable camp site. Now I have to cancel everything and lose money thanks to bad business at Campers world Rossford OHIO. In fact, save yourself the trouble and go to General RV. We ended up going elsewhere, saved a lot....but camping world won't give us our fully refundable holding money back. Bought a used 5th wheel in December which had been winterized and traded in a travel trailer. Encountered water leaks and a bad water heater once we opened it up. I was told that my old travel trailer had busted water lines and they requested $2K to repair. I'm not trying to pass along a bad trailer so I paid it. Camping World refuses to address water leaks and the bad water heater and won't discuss the $2K I gave them. There's a "Camping World Sucks" Social Media page for a reason. The process of trading in our old camper and purchasing our new camper was pretty seamless. That's where the customer service portion ends. We made a list of items needing fixed, as suggested. When we came in, we were met with comments like, oh that's just a nail, sometimes it's just loose like that. Brand new camper under warranty. Take the notes , submit the claim, and fix it. Simple. From that point, we've been misled on timelines, messages are left with no follow up, false claims of return calls and emails with no ability to confirm what number or email they're being sent to, constant excuses for everything. I went to camping world to have them fix the recently installed washer and dryer which was leaking so this was a follow up appointment upon picking up the RV. I had to hook up myself. I asked A employee to help me. Make sure that I had it connected correctly and he said I don't know it looks like it is all I do is drive the forklifts around so I believe that my fifth wheel was attached and everything was good before I pulled out of the parking lot, the hitch slipped off and smashed my tailgate as I struggled to get the fifth wheel lifted off the truck numerous employees walk by me got in their cars and drove to lunch and then they came back from lunch because they had bags of food with them. I feel that if I would have not had to return to camping world again, which is a 45 minute drive one way and have my washer fixed because it wasn't installed correctly. So my family and I are missionaries on deputation to Papua New Guinea. We had a issue with our RV that we are living in for the next year or so and it was totaled. I currently have my second plumbing issue within the 4 months that I have owned this unit. Called Christine at the service department and received NO help besides to bring it in. We had been looking for 8 months or so for a nice trailer. We found a used 35ft Coachmen Legacy. It was just what we were looking for, 2 slides in the living room/ kitchen area and 1slide in the bedroom. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend, but it was "the one" we were looking for. We went to pick it up and noticed that the one slide seemed to be leaning down. We told the Service man and he said it's because the slide wasn't all the way out. We have used it 2 times and decided to take our trailer in because that slide, all the way out, was dropping about 6- 8 inches lower than the other side. We took it in last Friday and got a call saying they had adjusted it as much as they could, but it's still dropping down. We were told it was going to be $360.00 for them to check and adjust the slide. Wow! We called and talked to the Service manager first because our new trailer was sold to us broken and now they want $$$ to adjust the broken slide. It has been since Monday night and we are still waiting to know what's going on. I am not happy with Camper's World At all. I will update this review when I get any news! I'm not understanding how they can sell a Used trailer with a slide that is not fixable! Plus we paid $25,000.00 for a trailer that can't be fixed and is only going to get worse! I'm not one to bash businesses, but they have absolutely no communication skills what so ever and Dan was an absolute terrible person to deal with. We took it in to get a quote on selling it back to them and get one of the treatment/coatings done on it and after they said they would call us back, they never did and then they tried to tell us they called us on the 19th, which they absolutely did not. Did not start out well and then went downhill. Certainly not buying from this dealership and I found what I want at the RV wholesale in Sylvania,OH. Based on the reviews and my experience I suggest starting there first. The new trailer I was thinking of purchasing based on floor plan did not seem to be well made. I described the floor plan that I was looking for to Walter, the salesman, and he showed me one trailer. When I didn't agree that was one that I wanted he seemed to be upset and asked something along the lines of there are a bunch of the layout you want but he wasn't going to show them all to me. When we tried to be helpful by mentioning some campers up front that had unlocked doors and the televisions were actually inside the camper he looked really upset about that. Worst customer service ever! I read the bad reviews and hoped they were untrue. I rarely complain or post negative reviews but I have to tell you "avoid this place at all costs" I was camping in the Toledo area over the weekend and suffered a flat tire on a Sunday. I put the spare on myself using a standard jack and pulled the camper to Camping World because it was close by and also , because, you know, they are Camping World! The retail store was open so I went in and explained that I had a mishap and didn't feel comfortable towing the camper home 100 miles and wanted 2 new tires professionally installed. The customer service rep told me the service Dept. Was closed and I need an appointment for service. I reiterated that this was due to a breakdown and she told me I would need an appointment but I was free to call the next day. So, I left my camper there and called the next day. I was told it would be a 30 day wait to get new tires. When I explained that i didn't want to wait a month , I was told "okay, when are you getting the camper off our lot?" This was Monday and I was home in Cleveland, I offered to move the camper the next day. Asking "would that be okay?" The response:" I guess it will have to be." So, I called Tireman in Maumee and towed the vehicle there. They replaced my tires the next day and were polite and professional. Never again will I set foot on Camping World property and neither should you. read more

It takes allot for me to write a review. I bought a new trailer here a few years ago. Had a few minor issues in the camper after a few months of use and dropped the trailer off in the October timeframe to have it serviced under warranty. During the drop off, I mentioned to them that I did not winterize the unit, and expected to have it back in a few weeks. Long story short, they didn't have a chance to work on the unit through December and never winterized it. This froze my water heater tank and it needed replaced. They refused to pay for a new one. read more

I recently had my RV serviced at the Camping World Rossford OH location. The unit was dropped off on April 24th and picked up on June 25th, 2020. While it was there to be repaired, approximately 188 miles were put on the RV. I talked to the Service Manager who said "I don't have enough time to fix them, let alone drive them." and offered no insight in to how the mileage was put on my unit. In an attempt to deflect my questioning he told me that the odometer is digital so it's likely a problem with that and I should go to the local Ford dealership to have it looked at. I took this absolutely ridiculous statement and did in fact contact my local Ford dealership, Brondes in Maumee OH. They found that to be quite odd as well, but they humored my request and did diagnostics, there are no issues with the odometer. Shoutout to Brondes Ford in Maumee OH for being excellent! The Service Manager at the Camping World in Rossford, OH blatantly lied about mileage being put on my vehicle while it was in their care for 2 months and has offered no recourse. read more

I was very impressed at first. My salesman Bob was great. Closed the deal Aug 2nd and havent had the camper hardly a day since. Drove it off and was told all was a ok. Got a call from service 2 wks later that the heater furnace was in to be installed unknown to me anything was wrong with it and i had to take it back in to be installed. After dropping it off no more than 2 hrs went by and i was called that they ordered the wrong furnace. ??? It has been there since. It was to get new plates 2 days ago. I have already made a first payment on it but havent had it. Also the generator was never started in front of me at the walk thru bc there was less than a 1/4 tank of gas so it couldnt be started bc of a cut off safety valve It is now my fault that the generator doesnt run. Even though i was made to believe all it needed to run was more gas in it by and through the walk through as i was taking notes. Just push the button on the dash and the generator will start once you have enough in it he said. I filled up on my way home and the generator doesnt stay running and Camper World says oh well i bought it as is. Well soon i am to leave town with Lourdes Bowling Team for Tn and this was why i purchased it. Another will be due and no camper and no generator and they will be talking to my Attorney. Of course my salesman is no longer there. Only 1 1/2 mo. Hes gone what does that say. I have no one to go to. Called the service desk twice only to leave msgs. No answers or return calls . We left CA June 2016 for Chicago and MI. Our RV had a couple problems which we took into Camping World for service. We brought it in to to get the slide out motor/ transmission, driver side, transfer switch, mivcrowave/convection oven, kitchen faucet to be fixed. Repairs were made, we received back in timely fashion. (The faucet which was put it is too large for the sink). Other items needed to be ordered. We would be contacted and scheduled for a quick 24hour turn around ... not. Within 2 weeks the kitchen sink was leaking, our carpets were sopping wet from new faucet installation. We found out that the tech forgot to attach a washer to connection hose. Parts came in, scheduled for following week. Transition switch was not changed because service manager of Camping World said it was working. Another issue was found with the slide out, brake light indicator, which they did not fix (they sent us home with a faulty switch! ) We drove 30 miles. When we got to our campsite we had issues with the transfer switch and parking brake lights. Within 1 month days the new microwave/convection oven stopped working. (it "fried" because of faulty transfer switch). Back to CW Rossford for replacement. Our refrigerator stopped working because the transfer switch, which also shorted out microwave, and was only giving partial power to our a/c. They did NOT fix transfer switch because they couldn't find the problem. Our appointment was 6 October, 2016. We drove to Kentucky and found we had a series of running light issues, which stopped working when we were driving at night so we had to stay in a gas station parking lot. We finished our trip and drove straight to CW, spent the night in the parking lot for our appointment the next day. Repair list was now: replace new convection/microwave oven, transfer switch, replace faulty parking brake switch, replace toilet ... Finally verified failure of transfer switch, which they had to order and when did, they found MELTED WIRES in junction box. We have been under a lot of pressure, frustrated, disappointed and didn't want to spend our time in CW. Joe, the Manager, never (not once!) returned our phone calls. One day we left SEVEN messages; the following day a customer service person returned our call. (is there a rule that service managers are not supposed to return phone calls?). Re: running lights - they put a different service tech on the job, replaced fuses only and did not find a short. I suspected it was electrical harness for the tow vehicle that caused the short. Joe wired a Pollack two vehicle harness on our car at no charge. I accepted his offer and bought the wire harness. We had to stop at another Shop at American Enterprise in Oregon, OH, because of brake light issues. I brought our NEW tow harness to them and they found out the it was wired wrong. He said Joe should have tested it! He wired it wrong and cost to fix was over $600, once again we had to pay for. We had to wait until DECEMBER 14th, 2016, for our parts to come in! They had our vehicle for THREE weeks - I called and said they've had it long enough, we want it back. We were told they needed to order just one more part, not sure how long it would take ... we said no thanks. When we went to pick up the motorhome they told us the generator wasn't working properly (it was when we brought it in) and we had to take it in to another shop. They said not to turn it on because it could possibly catch on FIRE! (what the heck???) Our plans to be in Chicago with my 99 year old dad, my brother from out of state, and be with family down south had to be cancelled. Since our RV still was having problems we had to rent a place in Oregon, Ohio! (Toledo suburb) We are absolutely disgusted with Camping World. We will never deal with them again in any part of the country. If you are considering Camping World for anything, read the reviews. The customer service was horrible. The General Manager did not make one return phone call. One day we left SEVEN messages. Camping World and "delighted customer service" is an oxymoron. If service communication is a promise, then you certainly have issues you are not aware of at Camping World Russford. I forgot to mention -- they put in a new toilet, which was oversized, my feet couldn't touch the floor and it blocked the drawers from opening. read more

We purchase a new tow vehicle while on a cross country trip this week. Since the truck was of a different model, it would be expected that my Equal-I-Zer WDH hitch would not be set quite right for the new truck. I was surprised how close it was though. However, the front of the camper was down a bit and the back of the truck was sagging a bit so yes, an adjustment would be necessary. I watched a few videos and easily came to the conclusion that I should leave this adjustment to the professionals. We happened to stop last night at the KOA in Toledo Ohio. I recalled we had passed this Camping World one exit back. I called this morning and explained our situation. They said it should be a quick half hour fix and to come on in. We arrived a few minutes later and indeed they had a service technician come right out and take a look at the hitch with me. He also agreed an adjustment was necessary. The tech took the rig back and had us wait. Approximately an hour later, the service advisor who checked me in came and got me and said they needed me out in the bay where they were working on the hitch. I met the brain trust of three or so guys working on the hitch and they explained to me how they adjusted the hitch to its limits and proper mounting for weight distribution and sway could not be achieved. As I eluded to before, I know what the WDH hitch does but I don't know why or how it works. But even I could see that the hitch was all whacked out. The tension bars were way up at an angle, the washers that set the pitch had been removed, the back of the truck was lower than it was before, and the camper was now nose up by several inches. The brain trust blamed the issue on my new truck, a 2020 Chevy Silverado Z71 diesel. They said air bags was my only recourse to get the truck leveled out. But either way, they said, this was the best they could adjust it. I knew the set up was wrong just by looking at it. I asked them to just put it back the way it was when I brought it in and I would worry about it another day. I went back inside where the service advisor had me pay for a half hour of labor. She said they worked on it for an hour but would only charge me the half hour rate. They did work on it and put it back to original for me so sure, I'll pay the half hour fee. They bring the rig around for me and just walking toward it from the building, I could see the camper was pointing way up. So now the truck was sagging more in the rear, the camper was sticking way far nose up, the washers were still removed, and the shank was upside down from where it had been. I went back in and spoke with the service advisor. She called in one of the brain trust to the service desk. A quick meeting was held in the managers office and the tech came over to talk to me. "Can I help you?" I hate that! You know what the deal is, just start talking with me about it. So he and I go out to look at the issue. Looks fine to him. In fact, it looks really good. According to him, you want to have the nose up and the tail down because it adds weight to the back end of the trailer. Umm hmm. I don't know much but some basic trailering principles are common knowledge even to me. He could bring the hitch down one hole but then the front end of the truck would come up higher, he said. "If it will make you happy I can do..." I hate that even worse. The "if it will make you happy"s continued. That's condescending code for F you. He tells me to take it for a test drive on the interstate and see how it rides. Either way, I am not letting the brain trust touch my rig again if their leader thinks this is a good trailer set up and there should be more weight in the back of the trailer. Time to leave. Furious, I drive off. My wife looks ahead to see what other RV shops are around. Moore's RV in North Ridgeville, Ohio was about an hour down the interstate in the right direction. Their most recent review was from a happy customer who reported how great they leveled out his rig. Great, this is the place to go see if they can undo what the brain trust did. We arrived, spoke with the owner who agreed the hitch was no where near adjusted correctly. He sent his tech out to get the rig and take it back to the service bay. The tech laughed when he saw it and I explained to him what had transpired. Less than 30 minutes later, the truck is sitting level, the camper is sitting level, the hitch looks more like when I first took it to Camping World. The tech explained how he uninstalled everything, reinstalled and properly measured and adjusted the hitch, I paid Moore's their asking price of half an hour's labor and headed back eastbound on I80. Found out the window leaked, said it was fixed was not, so they finally ( after 6 months) put a new window in it. But before that, my husband went to pick it up, we live an hour away, got there and said it wasn't ready. After the new window came in and they installed which took awhile. They said they would winterize it. Just went to flush the lines and a line burst because they didn't winterize it correctly. This is a brand new camper, not used. This Camping World was a trip-saver! Heading south we sprung a leak in our propane regulator, so we called looking for an emergency repair. They told us to come in immediately, took our RV back as soon as we got there, and had us fixed and on the road in two hours. They even had a nice grassy area outside where we could sit with our cats while the work was done. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a good experience with the service department. We took our travel trailer in to have a window repaired and 4 minor things that needed corrected under warranty. We were told to expect an 8 week wait on the window. No problem. My husband followed up and was told the window was in (sooner than expected) and "oh, I thought I called you". We drop it off on a Sunday so they could have it first thing in the AM on Monday. Was told it would be 1 day to fix it. Go to pick it up and its not ready (my husband had spoke to the service rep. multiple times that day). We pick it up on Tuesday, and check it over and the only thing fixed was the window. The services rep. said the other items were listed on the work order but they were not done. (yea no kidding!!!) So we have to bring it back again to have them fixed. Then we get home and realize the rug by the door is missing. I call, they check with the tech. who worked on it, and of course they don't have it!!!! I don't have much confidence in the tech. who couldn't even follow the work order. Very dissatisfied with the service department and would never recommend them. read more

The significant lack of follow up and operating without integrity is appalling! My new RV was sold to me damaged, a cracked frame under the passenger seat, discovered when taken to a local shop for a headlight adjustment and winterization. As a result the last 3 months the RV has been at the Camping World Service Department in Rossford, to be fixed. Yes they admitted to the damage being done while the unit was on their lot. Since the unit was there to be fixed we requested an additional sway bar be installed at the same time. We picked up the unit and drove it home, the 133 miles to Columbus. The steering was terrible and we fought to keep it on the road all the way home, thinking the forgot to align the unit once the bar was installed. Taking it to our local dealer, after notifying CW and they approved the work that needed to be done, the local dealership, why BTW, found the original damage, informed us the new bar installed was extremely dangerous as it is not meant for our unit. This company has put our lives at risk twice and something others need to know. Do not do business with this particular store, and share with the CEO. If he cares about his business he will ensure this and other issues like this one are addressed before the worst happens. read more
