This store seems to always be busy. I like that they have a pretty good selection of many items and they have lots of good, well know products. We usually stop in during the holiday season for any last minute ideas. The check out service is okay. It's kind of a weird setup almost forcing a line longer than it needs to be. Ugh! Service was horrible. I buzzed for help, needing a pair of shoes. The associate got the shoes, handed the to my grandson and left. It was not that busy in the store. The shoes did not fit. I had to buzz for help again. The next associate was a bit better....at least he didn't leave. He never offered to size my grandson and told us the back room was chaos and had trouble finding shoes for him. I did not buy shoes.....and wont be back. read more

Was in Dick's today to look at kayak's. Not one employee greeted me even though I passed about 6 several different times. Was by the kayaks for 10 minutes and nobody came over to ask if I needed help. Customer service is lacking in this store. I guess I don't fit their normal "demographic" so no help was offered to me. Being in Miami I really enjoy going to this dick's store for a couple reasons. First I can find gear for all sports, summer and winter. I can also find outdoor clothes that I would be unable to find in Florida. An added bonus is that when I visit in the winter I am able to find great deals on summer running gear that I can use as soon as I return to Florida. As far as people living in Ohio/southern Michigan, I am jealous of your ability to always find the sports gear ou want without having to go on line. The store itself is huge. Two levels, well laid out, and departments clearly marked. Staff is easy to find, if you even need help. The area is clean, and even during the bust times around Christmas it does not seem to crowded, except at the registers where things often slow down to a crawl. I like this place for the selection, and the convenience of finding all of my non super specialized sporting goods here. read more

The customer service is horrible. Period. The associates were hard to find-and once found, talking with other employees. We were looking for baseball cleats & we got, "oh not sure if we have any in-did you really want me to check?" That was our response. Whew. The size of the place-you would think they are stocked to the gills-but nope. It was very disorganized & limited supplies-and no help knowing or getting an answer when there might be more stock. I went into the Westfield location to pick up an order for a friend who had ordered online. The salesgirl could not have been any more of a bitch. She was rude and unprofessional and told me how things were going to be. I was never thanked or anything at all. I will never shop at store again horrid horrid customer service. read more

I just wanted to take time to say Thank you for the horrible customer service today! I was told I could order a product online and have it picked up in your store in Toledo, Ohio. Only to be told by a rude person at the store it was not possible when the person had all the required documents to pick up the purchase. It was for my grandson and he was unable to pick it up! So I was able to make the same transaction at Walmart and bought 2 dumdells for the price of your one! Because of the service I received today! I will no longer do business with Dicks! Typical Dick's sporting goods. Sales never seem to be great. No huge pro's or con's just an average store.

Horrible return policy! Basically they can refuse to accept the return/exchange of any item they want (it's written into their return policy.) I received a fleece jacket for Christmas and had no receipt. They refused to do an EVEN EXCHANGE for the exact same jacket in a different size because I didn't have a receipt (duh of course I didn't have receipt..it was a gift!) Luckily they were able to look up the original receipt using the purchaser's Score Card...but otherwise I would have been out of luck. Oh and in order to look up the score card, I had to provide the purchaser's phone number, zip code AND full name. Cashier called over 3 different managers and they were all very rude making me feel like a shoplifter for wanting to simply do an even exchange. They make up their own rules when it comes to returns so buyer beware...I would NEVER recommend anyone to purchase gifts at this store. Most other stores have much more reasonable return/exhange policies. read more
