I love this store. It's been there for as long as I can remember. If you've never been in here because you aren't in the military and don't understand why you'd want to, you should stop in. They aren't just military gear, they have all the camping gadgets for your outdoor enthusiasts. They carry leather belts, sleeping bags, batteries, hats, gloves, snow pants ... recently I was looking for a specific sweatshirt for my husband I went to three different popular chain stores and they were all sold out. I came here and they had a huge variety! If nothing else it's fun to look around because they have such a wide variety of products. read more

I've read other reviews saying employees treated them like criminals when trying to exchange a pair of boots. I had the same experience trying to exchange a pair of clogs for a different size. Also reviews saying they were followed around like they were shoplifters while shopping. Same experience here! One said they thought it was because they were black. The surplus items they carry are overpriced vs the condition generally speaking. Ive found rust in the ammo cans so make sure you check them out if you are thinking of buying one. The ammo is typically over priced if they have it. Service people are extremely rude. Most of the non-surplus items appear to be cheap knock offs of the originals that are also overpriced. Seems there are a lot of petty reviews about showing up at closing or no way to identify you qualify for a discount. This store staff I've encountered are friendly, helpful and the store is well organized into categories. This is our go to for scouting supplies. I'm also a veteran and enjoy seeing and telling my kids about the stuff I used in the Army that's stocked here. If you rated the store like you're supposed to and not for its ability to meet demands of irresponsible shirkers you'd see this is a well stocked, ready to rock and roll supply store, not a daycare. read more

Woodville is one of those places that brings you back to the yesteryear of American society. Take a trip across the Maumee, and into beautiful Oregon. Trust me, it will be well worth it. Drive past the various gambling "Internet Cafe's" and a couple whore-ridden guesthouses, you might even pass the 'ol 25 cent booths. And then, like a dream come true, lies Woodville. As an avid outdoorsman, and liker of good deals, I can say that Woodville has served me well. Everything from some sale Carhart, to Charlie Day's favorite shirts this place has a bunch of awesome steels. If you head to the back real people standing behind the glass case will help you find just the knife you want from Gerber, to CRKT, to that battle ax your lady has been begging you to bring home for D and D role play night. Plus, they have a great selection of cooking tools, blankets, and stoves for car camping; MRE's and backpacking meals; and a bunch of little extra's. The surplus is awesome. I got a pair of old Russian-Issue Gortex pants for 10 bucks! Everything is a good deal. Bottom line: friendly people, hometown feel, a trip into the past, with prices to match. Haha, I guess I am not surprised that their rating is 2 stars. Ive lived in this area my entire life and have been going to Woodville Surplus since I was very young. It was always a treat to visit as my entire family served and were very active in hunting, trapping and fishing. Unfortunately, in the last 10 years, they have been slipping in all aspects of the niche they fill. Yesterday,however was the last straw. I had gone in to find a suitable mace arrangement for my daughter. We had decided on a couple different styles. I also had two of my grandsons with me. One was 11 and the other was 4. they found some cheap wooden rubber band guns to keep their attention while my daughter and I considered what to purchase. So the guy in the picture when you open this page thought it would be a good idea to corner the two small children and aggressively question them about purchasing the .25 cents worth of garbage they were playing with. I asked him if there was a problem and his reply was "I want to know if they are going to buy those" I assured him they were not, and neither was I. The best part about Woodville surplus is that they are right across the street from Towers Armory. We went there and found what we needed for not only cheaper but much easier to find. They also didn't have any issue with my grandsons looking and touching benign items stocked on the shelf. Your out of time Woodville, you have been replaced with the internet and much, much more professional organizations. You must know this otherwise you wouldn't have been so concerned about the garbage that you have pointed at just kids. And honestly, if you would have kept your ignorant crotchety mouth shut I would probably have bought both of them. Too bad I can't give zero stars. read more

As a long time customer at the Sylvania store, I will not return after today. I was unable to get my hospital discount without my badge. This means I cannot stop in there on a whim to spend more than $100. As a repeat customer, this is so wrong. What, I'm going to buy scrubs for the fashion value?? Not to mention that my department placed a huge order for lab coats with our name and department embroidered on it. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I plan not to go there, the Oregon store, nor their hospital based sales in the future. read more

I can only review about the nursing scrub selection as I didn't need anything but else but the store was interesting! Seemed to have a bit of everything, aimed at hunters and gunsmen. The scrubs were awesome though, great styles to pick from, lots of colors and availability of sizes. Prices weren't the cheapest but not horrible. Was a great place to find after struggling to find uniforms. read more

Bought a pair of thick snow boots. Wore them around the house, as instructed, to make sure they fit correctly. I needed to go down a size. Took them back, and the owner refused to exchange them because he believed them to be worn outside and absolutely couldn't resell them. They were brand new, never out side. Wore them around the house for a couple of hours to make sure they would be comfortable enough for a days work. Each employee looked at me like I was nuts because I wanted to exchange them. I followed their instructions, and then they basically called me a liar. And acted as if I was a criminal for wanting an exchange of new product for new product. If they had a no return policy, I could accept that, I would not have bought boots from them. Speaking to the owner, he was dismissive and rude. Don't shop here. That's $60 wasted. read more

I came to this with every intention to buy a gun and a shotgun,But the man behind the counter ignored me at first then after being there for about ten mins my husband asked a question and the salesman was very rude and nasty and acted as if we were wasting his time within the first couple minutes of talking to this salesman I had already decided that I was going to go to cleland s or towers armory because of how rude he was I have never gone on Yelp to review anyone or anyplace but how we were treated made me feel compelled to do so also he acted as if he knew everything with my husband being a retired cop my husband is quite educated on things and was giving wrong information and talked down to my husband also we asked for a certain type of gun and he just we don't have it didn't offer to order one or to contact us when they get one he was a complete prick I dont recommend this place at for the man won't give you good service read more

I am personally no longer a fan of either Woodville Surplus store for purchasing scrubs. Every time I go to buy scrubs they are always out of my size and I have to order them. It is extremely inconvenient the ordering process. The shipping takes even longer 2-3 weeks for just basic navy blue scrubs. read more
