I do not get to shop at Bass Pro very often, and it had been a while since my last visit. Each time I enter a Bass Pro Shop, I am awestruck by the decor! I am not a huge outdoor sportsman by any means, but it appears Bass Pro has a good selection. With as many people as there were in the store, they must be doing something right. I would say the value is decent based on prices paid for items purchased. Customer service is good as staff seems knowledgeable and always willing to assist. read more

I was at Bass pro last night trying to pick up an order from the firearm counter and the 2 guys that "helped" me were very rude and had an attitude the entire time like they were very put off by doing their job. I spent $1600 online and was trying to spend another $700 in store. But with the horrible service I received I made no purchase in store, only online. First thought was such a beautiful store the layout was perfect they have excellent merchandise ok prices but that's understandable for the times we are in. Service was was good, the only problem was at check out the employee know there were problems with the card reader and asked to bend my card and that didn't work 3 times so we moved to the next checkout and that one worked fine. Why not fix or replace that unit you have 10 checks outs. read more

I went in to pick up a pair of sunglasses. I tried to order them online for pickup and I was able to because of limited supply. If I choose to ship them, they may not arrive in time for Christmas. The price on the website was not the price in the store. The lady checked with the front desk and said it must be an online special only. The website did not say online only for the pricing. I wanted to get myself a pair and my husband since it was $60 off for a second pair. I was so frustrated that I left. I will think twice before spending my money there. I ended up going to another business and got the exact same pair cheaper than was advertised at Basspro shop. read more

Bass Pro Shops is like a Goth Cabela's. Deer antlers are nailed everywhere and it's very dark inside. You almost have to feel your way around. But, you got to hand it to them. They take theming to a new level. The sign pointing out the restrooms said "25 cents-soap extra". Stuffed fish are chasing each other over the salesroom doors and the finish is rusty and dusty and woodsy. Who designed the place definitely had a sense of humor! My sister was boat shopping and she wanted to check out Bass Pro Shops. She was looking at their clearance pontoons for the marina she and her husband have, and wanted some thing to fill out the fleet. The salespeople were (unconscious, clueless, pick a descriptive) hanging around a counter and missing the buying cues. Even with me taking pictures of boats and their prices wasn't enough to get them to come over. And, having been in sales myself, I didn't want to interrupt their reverie. I don't give business away-they have to come get it! So, we walked out of the boat showroom and went to look at supplies. They are pricey, like West Marine, and if it's something basic, you might want to go to Meijer to get it. I had picked up boat fenders for $7.99 last week at Meijer and here they were $15.99 for the same size. Know your prices! The best thing they had was a combo sandwich/fudge shop. It reminds me of Cracker Barrel with the similar products and general store theme. If you want to sit a spell, there are checker boards to play at while you rest your feet. The employees who cut the fudge are generous with letting you try before you buy. Watermelon and root beer fudge were the stand-outs, but the chocolate caramel nut was the best! read more

I wish I could leave three or four seperate reviews for Bass Pro Shops, but under the yelp system I can not so I will add up three reviews to give them three stars. My first review is for their horrible boats sales department. Now this review should have been written in October and I thought I did but I must have been as absent minded as their sales staff. If I am planning on spending 18,000-25,000 on a fishing boat, how about some service? Why did I have to walk around looking for twenty minutes before I was even approached by a salesman? Obviously I was wrong when I said hello to them as I walked by their station and they were deep in conversation. At least the one waved at me. Once I got someone and started talking about sizes, options, and delivery times; he had to step away for a phone call. Instead of the other guy coming over to talk to me, he needed to watch his coworker spend ten minutes on the phone. What I am to say or know, maybe he had to be there for his buddy to provide moral support or offer his expertise that he didn't share with me. After forty minutes, I walked away and nobody noticed except me. Unfortunately I had to go to a different location, a marina 75 miles away, to get the service, knowledge, and attention to spend 21,500 of my hard earned money with them instead of Bass Pro. They do have a great selection of fishing gear and equipment. That is the main reason I come here. The internet can be deceiving and I like to see what I buy before it goes on the end of my rod. The draw back to shopping here is that few in the department are knowledgable enough to give advice or offer a recommendation when you can find them. My solution is to read the reviews for something online because the customers know the products better than their salesman and sales-ladies. Also had an issue with the redworms I purchased in October and November. I swear their redworms got smaller as the year they went on. After Halloween, they were so small a #2 hook split them into two. Not good. I suggest opening up any live bait before paying to check for size, quality, or consistency. Last area I shopped and had issues was in their firearms department in before Thanksgiving. I was shopping for a tactical light for a Kimber 1911. Three different employees tried to get me to buy a rail mounted light they had in stock for a pistol that does not have a rail. I tried to explain I needed something that mounted to the trigger guard and they insisted that didn't exist. Upon my insistence they didn't understand what I was asking for they told me rail mounts were adaptable and I could modify their suggestion. After feeling like I was arguing with basketball referee that called a first down, I left and found the Crimson Trace, trigger guard mounted, tactical light on Amazon.com and made my purchase online. I do like their apparel departments. The employees there do a good consistenly good job. They have a wide variety of items in all sizes. The employees are friendly, able to make suggestions or provide alternatives, they know where things are located, and they keep things on hangers, folded and organized by side. I think their apparel in general is a good value and their sales are pretty good. After a dozen trips there this year their store and parking lots are generally clean and well stocked. They are organized in a good way and the floor has food flow. I like their decor and the restrooms have always been clean. After spending several hours in the car on my way to the lake, I like that I can bring my dog in with me to give her a break. Bass pro does have a cafe that I haven't been able to visit because I have always had my dog with me. My brother always stop there for sanwiches and brings fudge to my mother who raves about it. They have a greeter at the door to say hello, get you an ad, and try to direct you where to go. Several times he had a treat to offer my dog which was a nice surprise. I have never had an issue checking out. They have always been pretty fast and efficient and very friendly. I will continue to go back and hope that their service improves. Unfortunately they lost out on a lot of business from me this year as a result of their employees, not their inventory or what they could order. read more

We always try to stop here when visiting our son and daughter-in-law. It's a really cool place. The reason for 2 stars is that while visiting today, we were greeted several times, told about a resort in our home state and told to have a nice day...wonderful. But when I really wanted help in the shoe department, I was ignored for 5 minutes. This place is huge! I went there for the first time to get pictures with the Easter Bunny. It's great that they offer these holiday photo shoots. The prices are reasonable if you decide to buy a package and if you don't want to spend money, you still get a free print from them! My kids and I went for the Winter Wonderland. We picked up a time to get pix with santa and wandered through. Half the games area the items were broken and not staffed. I noticed the line for santa was huge and barely moving even though they all had tickets. The whole point of having a ticket is to not wait in the line... When we saw that the kids said is was not worth it. I went to return the ticket and the lady tried to tell me that it was only going to get longer if I came the following day and had major attitude. I said I did not care, then we wouldn't come back. Staff makes all the difference in customer service. It's a free area, no reason to be mean to parents when they return a ticket and say no thanks. read more

Horrible service in the boats department. We were promised parts to repair our boat as we live over 3 hours away. Contacted multiple times over a 3 week period just to have them change what they were saying and then demand that we send the part back to them for evaluation. Scrap a couple more weeks. Wasted a huge chunk of fishing season waiting on them. Can't get a straight answer and will not stand behind what they say or their warranty. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! read more

Had to go to Bass Pro today to get additional parts for installing upgrades to our boat. The man in the Marine center was so incredibly helpful. He and the assistant manager went way above and beyond to help us find what we needed, even thinking outside of the box to meet our need. But by thinking outside if the box it caused us to need to purchase items a little differently, so they took us to customer service. And there is were Bass Pro has a real challenge on their hands: the THREE young ladies working customer service were not even willing to get on their phones to use their calculators to figures out what sales tax would be. Like they didn't have a clue how to be helpful or how to put any initiative into even acting like they cared. Just sat there drinking their drinks...and no, they weren't on break. Even when prompted to do so by me they just sat there and looked helpless (look could have easily been interpreted as defiant). My husband had to figure out the sales tax. I feel sorry for you Bass Pro. Great workers like your Marine man and assistant manager, but worthless and frustrating attitudes in customer service. Kudos to the men! read more

I was looking for a pair of inexpensive polarized sun glasses. This place is huge! If you havent seen it on the side of the highway it is the giant barn that says Bass Pro Shops w/ the big fish picture. They really have everything hunting and fishing here from guns and poles to boats and gear. really everything also has a deli type restaurant inside and plenty of people here to help you. read more

This bass pro has almost any soft plastic(no keitechs) or crankbait you could buy but I couldn't find more than two different brands of shakeyhead jigs and they had three under spins left and no brand variety. They need to step up the terminal tackle section. Maybe they should refer to top selling tackle products online and stock their shelves with those..ie owner beast hooks, scrounger heads... I know of some gas stations that sell more variety of terminal tackle than they do. read more

The place is gorgeous. I'm an artist and I love muraling and I couldn't take my eyes off the aesthetics in this place. I'd love to work on a project like that. Anyway, the store is huge and has just about every kind of outdoor equipment you would need. We were just there to look around so we didn't need much service but the service we did receive and heard others receiving was friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are steep, so i would recommend this place of you were looking for a specialty item you can't find anywhere else. You could really spend a couple hours in there walking around and take the kids to see the huge fish tank, waterfall, murals, and animal displays. read more

Worst experience ever! We got here at 7:10pm after work with our five year old daughter and two year old special needs son, the lady asked our daughter if she was here to see Santa and then tells us they can't see him because they're out of passes! You all advertise that Santa is available 10-8 and bass passes are available to "skip the line," but no where does it say they're mandatory or that you can't see Santa if you show up at 7! False advertising and rude service. Never mind we drove 30 minutes with our son who has a trach and feeding tube, our daughter was devastated, left sobbing, not understanding why she couldn't see Santa. If you can't see Santa until 8, don't put that online. I have created a Google account and Yelp account specifically for this incident. NEVER have I felt the need to leave a review like this, but this event just left me so disgusted. read more

I was in the area working and wanted to buy a shotgun. I called the store and ask if they had the one I was looking for and they did. Ohio state law does not have restrictions on buying a long gun (shotgun,rifle) if you are from another state (Texas). So I drove an hour there to purchase the gun and they refused to sell it to me without doing a background check just because I was from Texan. I have purchase a lot of stuff from basspro through the years but will not be going back to this store read more
