I highly recommend you going ANYWHERE ELSE! We hoped that we could walk away from the experience with the service department and say it was decent after they had our camper 4 months, but that was not the case at all. After months of getting the run-a-round to get the bed lift and a few blank tank and toilet seal issues repaired by warranty, we got our camper back in worse shape. The service department broke more than they repaired. After contacting corporate and the manufacturer directly, the damaged items were ordered and given to us to replace ourselves. We were satisfied with this and just decided it was a lesson learned and we would never take it back. We finally took it out camping ONLY to discover that they made the toilet and black tank issues (which were minor to start) more SEVERE! The manufacturer paid them for the work and they didn't repair anything, in fact, they made it worse. Now we are going to be forced to pay out of pocket to fix what was already paid by warranty to be fixed. I do not think they know how to fix anything! They are crooks and they are robbing manufacturers and not completing the warranty work. read more

Bosco is in charge of the Service Department, and I have nothing but high praise for his work ethic, problem solving ability, conscientiousness, and expertise in his position in this company. He is extremely patient and goes above and beyond his "call of duty," and with a great deal of respect for the consumer. He does his work expeditiously and to perfection. This young man should climb the corporate ladder quickly and if CW recognizes this outstanding employee they will reward his excellent work. Continuous bad service. From the purchase of our RV they treated us poorly, answering questions and service were a joke. Every time we needed service they had more new inexperienced technicians and they never can seem to fix the problem. Bought a satellite and the install was messed up. The worst is, since they moved to a new location, it is a nightmare to get in and out of the facility. We will go elsewhere from now on and support RV dealers that care about their customers. It seems camping world is too big to care about customer service anymore. Do yourself a favor and visit the local dealer anywhere you go! You will probably never regret it. read more

We had an issue with the extended warranty that we bought with our RV. I was contacted by the General Manager which was nice that they cared. We settled our issue in a fair manner. I appreciate that they cared enough and was fair when an issue came up. Thank you Camping World for tackling the issue head-on and being very fair to get it resolved. read more

No parking for dually pickups, employees fill parking lot and leave no room for store customers. We ended up parking in a area that partially blocked the poorly placed loading dock, a salesman told us to park there. A few minutes later store employees were giving us crap about blocking the loading dock. Truck driver was also bitchy about us parking there. Don't even try to shop here if you have a trailer in tow. To drive several miles out of the way to get to a store with little parking that charges more then the easy to get to competition is foolish. We will not go back. Quick synopsis so you don't have to read my sob story but you might not waste your time on this sorry excuse for a company: 1. If you call you will talk to the front desk, then be transferred to an unanswered voicemail. EVERY TIME. No one will call you back either. Just ask to talk to the manger. 2. No on can give you a clear answer for anything 3. Plan to drive to the store at least 4 times before you are done no matter how far away you might live 4. When you think you finally done with their nonsense, you might be about halfway there. 5. Don't expect anyone to apologize for anything. Including but not limited to; unanswered calls, unclear answers, incorrect paperwork, wait times, etc. Absolutely awful! My husband and I did research on a camper that was on the lot. We came in knowing what we wanted. No one had to "sell" anything to us. However, we almost walked away during the paperwork because everything was so messed up. No one could give us a clear answer on anything. We live almost two hours away and would have loved to be able to drive off with it that day. It became clear that that wasn't going to happen but we were fine with that. They charged our bank account $5,000 (our down payment) BEFORE they ever told us what the final price of the camper would be. We got that figured out finally and agreed on a price. This was on a Saturday so we understood that they would have to hear back from the credit union before we could move forward so we left. We were assured everything would be fine and we could come pick up the camper Monday once Camping World called us. Monday we didn't hear anything from anyone so we called. We talked with someone at the front desk who directed our call elsewhere. From there we got a voicemail. No one ever called us back. Tuesday morning I called again and got the same go around; talk to the front desk, then transferred to an unanswered voicemail. I called back 4 hours later to get the same run around. Mind you, we are now a day past when we were told we could pick it up AND have already put the $5,000 down. Between my husband and I we called 3 more times that day with zero response. Finally when I got the front desk for the final time that day I asked to speak to the manager. Come to find out NO ONE EVER FILED OUR PAPERWORK! The credit union hadn't even been contacted. They never apologized, they just said "things had been really busy because of a sale that they had for July 4th." We finally figure out that we can come pick up the camper on Thursday and set up all the appointment, etc. So we think we are in the clear. I am not free on Thursday but my husband is. I get a call that not all paperwork is signed so they need me at this appointment too. So I have to leave work early and drive the two hours there to sign what I later find out my husband could have. Later that day he drives the two hours to actually pick up the camper. We finally think we are done. Think again!! Nothing is ever done with this company. I get a frantic call on Friday saying that they had me sign the WRONG PAPERWORK when I left work early and drove a totally of 4 hours so I would need to come back in. No - they could not fax it or mail it. I had to come there. So off I went, AGAIN! No one ever apologized for their mistake. My husband and I actually went out to celebrate being done with Camping World that night. Then I get another call. They didn't save the document that had my pay stub so they would need that ASAP. I cried. I begged my husband just to take the camper back because such a company did not deserve our money. Almost 4 weeks later, my husband and I are getting ready for a trip to North Carolina and realize our tags haven't come in. We were never given a temp tag so this was vital to our upcoming trip. Camping world had the best deal so I drove to Knoxville and purchased my Fifth wheel RV. I was concerned about some of the reviews but I decided to give them a chance, WOW BIG MISTAKE !!! couple things need it to be addressed with the RV and they are taking care of it, once it's all done I will post more reviews about that. UPDATE !!!!!! After about 2 months they haven't done anything with the RV, I have been in contact with Ryan (sales person) during that time and he assured me that it was in the works. Ryan told me that they were waiting for the RV manufacturer (Keystone) to aprovea the work. After many emails and text messages I got tire of the runaround so I called Keystone. They told me that the work had been approved, so I make a trip to Camping world in Knoxville TN. First thing I do is ask for Ryan, but his busy with another costumer, I explained what's going on and they directed me to the service counter. I explained to them what has happened and when they look in the computer they had no record of ANYTHING for my RV. I guess Ryan only cares about making the sale and getting his commission. Even while there talking to the service people and looking around the store he (RYAN) did NOT come to see if he could help with the situation. Now I'm waiting for the RV to be picked up again but hopefully the service department will do a better job, WILL UPDATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS. Second update!!!!!! The RV has been at Camping World of Knoxville for almost a MONTH now and have not heard from them. Don't buy a camper from them if you ever expect to have warranty work. As many of you know, if you buy a camper, you will have warranty work! They are horrible about warranty and try to void it at all co$t. They put you off, they tell you they cant find anything wrong or blame the problem on the chassis instead of the coach (C Class). Have a lot of trouble bathroom door will not latch, Support for bathtub was not added at factory, can not use Had two leaks on roof, water heater want work, paneling in bedroom coming lose AND front door drags. Even bought extra coverage. Was not told the truth. I advice everyone not to buy from Camping World or a Heartland camper, Been trying to get a call in and can not get a return call. Recently purchased an outdoor shower and bought the bs about the warranty and purchased it. Cashier told us if we had any issue within the time frame they would pop open a box and give us the part needed. Well the shower head is defective and after the manufacturers recommendations to correct the problem we still have the problem and it's even worse. Called the Camping World store in Louisville TN where it was purchased to verify what we had been told and discovered we would have to pay another $20 + to them to replace the item nor could they pop open the box as we were misguided to believe. I can buy the piece for $9.95 from the manufacturers website so that is a no brainer what we are going to do. We bought a brand new camper there 2 years ago also and was given the same lines more or less and the camper had some minor issues which they would not address shortly after. I am done with Camping World after these issues as there are other places to buy everything they sell. They do not stand behind their products or any of the paperwork they give you to seal the deal. read more

Purchased my first new camper from Camping World in Knoxville TN. I wanted to give an honest opinion of my experience. For starters I want to say our sales person Kimberly was great. Since we lived several hours away Kimberly ask me what I wanted in a camper regarding features, floor plans, size and tow weights. She sent us some pictures and specs of campers that met our needs and followed up several times asking if we needed anything additional. We checked local RV shops but ultimately decided on a Pioneer BH270 from Camping World due to its features and price. Now the one thing I didn't like regarding the negotiation process was I feel the extra fees need to be given up front. No RV dealers I looked at charged a dealer prep fee other than Camping World. They also add a freight charge onto their advertised sale price. I haggled and the dealer prep fees was removed. I ended up paying the freight charge for the sole reason that even with the freight charge Camping World was still less than any comparable models I had looked at. After I had agreed upon the price and placed a down payment I had another dealer send me some information regarding Camping World and some of the many angry customer complaints that are listed on the internet. Those horrible reviews almost caused me to back out of my purchase due to fear. That is one of the main reasons I want to write this. Was my buying experience perfect? No.. but it was very good and I would buy from this Camping World again in a heart beat. Like I said before, our sales person Kimberly really made this a great experience. The negative: This location needs to fix its scheduling. We had a 1 pm appointment to sign paper work, go over our new camper with a technician, and have a hitch installed. We arrived at 12:15 but weren't able to complete everything until 5:15! They were very busy so I understand being behind a little but 5 hrs was unacceptable. The staff there was very nice and constantly apologizing. They even gave me a $50.00 gift certificate which I really appreciated. Also since all of our negotiations was done by telephone or email I was under the impression our paperwork would be ready to sign when we got there but it wasn't. I had spoken with the finance person, Chris, three days before we arrived and I informed him of our down payment and that I didn't want an extended warranty. So I was very surprised that my paperwork wasn't ready and that Chris kept trying to sale me on the warranty that I wasn't going to take. I wouldn't say he was pushy but was really trying to get me hooked on the advantages of the camping world extended warranty. Bottom line is I never, and I mean never, buy extended warranties. We had already discussed this three days prior by telephone and I didn't want to discuss it again. I wasn't going to buy it. The Positive: The selection of units was very good. The Camping World store has everything you can think of and most of it is priced well. Some things are higher but it is very convenient to get almost anything camper related you can think of in one store. You get a free three year Good Sam Elite membership which gets you discounts at campgrounds across the nation plus 5 cents per gallon discount on fuel at Pilot gas stations. Was treated great by everyone. Conclusion: If not for the 5 hr wait I would give this location a 5 star rating. I would buy from here again. I can't speak for all of the Camping World location but this one is top notch. read more

First I ordered a tv bracket that the stupid sales guy said he ordered, guess what, never did. Then I went to ask about it, the girl at the counter with a mouth full of food directed me to a shelf and said that's all they have. Finally got my tag and registration, guess what, didn't even have my name on it!!! Every time I call the general manager is off, guess that explains why they suck. Visited on June 3, 2015. I assume the salesman thought he could take advantage of two 50-ish ladies. We asked to see previously owned and new fifth wheels. He kept showing us used ones and ignored multiple requests to show us new trailers. He priced a 2 year old used 2014 Grand Design Reflection 303 at $55K. A few miles down the road we purchased a 2016 Grand Design Reflection 303 for only $42K. read more

Made a special trip to their store to pick up a table base after confirming it was in stock - it wasn't. For us this was strike three - they're out! We heard a customer told by a salesperson they had no used RV's - only to have another pipe up and say they did have 6 or so. I spoke to a rep via their online chat to find campers comparable to on at another dealer. I was given a list of options and picked 2 that I liked. The rep said someone would call to speak more, they never called. I then called and spoke to a rep on the phone. I talked about a camper I liked and she assured me they would price match their competitor and told me they had some at their knoxville location. I drove there after work to see it even though it was out of my way. Upon arrival I had to seek out a rep to ask for help and then had to wait since that rep couldn't help me because it wasn't his turn. Then the rep that finally came wanted all my info before showing me anything even though I knew exactly what I wanted to see. He then left and after 10 min came over with another rep that had evidently spoken with the same woman I had on the phone earlier. He had 2 campers he wanted to show me and neither were the ones I had wanted to see. When I asked about the ones I wanted he told me that they couldn't sell those at the prices I was told on the phone and that the reps shouldn't have said they could price match. So I was told different things and lies to get me into the store just to be shown campers I didn't want. I left and will not be going back. The reps on the phone seem enthusiastic but lied and the ones in the store seemed not to care about helping or what I even wanted. read more

My Fiancé and I went to Camping World of Knoxville in hopes of purchasing our first RV that we were looking at online for a couple of days. The first time we went down there, our sales representative was Jim Preston and as soon as he saw us (mindful we are 21 and 23 years old) he treated us like kids and was very rude. When touring the RV, he did even try to sell it to us, he treated us as if we were wasting his time. And when asking about financing he made up some numbers that made it seem like it would be an outrageous payment for twenty years. So, we left and came back about a week later to get a different sales person and we got Frank. He showed us the RV and proceeded to tell us it was a fabulous RV that required little to no work because it had been taken care of. He told us that the man who had lived in it was a contractor and lived in it for two to three months at a time while on the job. Frank then told us that the man came in and traded it in for a bigger one. Turns out the man who lived in it actually died and his wife brought it in. (We were disclosed this information till the very end). We walked through the RV and again we are first time RV buyers so we did not know what to look for, we decided to go forward with this RV and Frank was not happy that we were not financing through camping world and had put in our application to a Credit Union. He told us that no one would beat their financing especially to someone of our age. We shook off the negativity and told him that we should here from our bank this week and come up here with a check to purchase the RV. That was a Friday and by Tuesday morning, Frank had called my fiancé 17 times pestering us about getting this RV and telling us another person wanted it but he wanted us to have it. And he called the credit union 5-6 times pestering her about our loan. They called us that Wednesday again (because it was the end of the month and they were trying to sell it) demanding we come get it that day that they wouldn't hold it for us and if we did not come get it that day he was going to call the other person interested in it and give it to them. We came up there the next day, we live 2 hours away and we have a family friend that would look over the RV to make sure it was in good shape since we had no clue about it. Frank got very irritated that it was not just my fiancé and I and told us that our friend could not do the walk through. One of the matters that was in agreement was the windshield be fixed because there was a small chip in it. The windshield was filled and you could still see the gash in the windshield and when I asked Frank about it he got very hostile a told me that we needed to leave and go home because the windshield was fixed (keep in mind we had come to camping world with a check to pay this RV off). When we asked to speak to a manager, Marvin, who was very polite and helped us tremendously, Frank denied everything and told us we lied. Marvin told us he would guarantee the windshield for 90 days and if it cracked or anything he would fix it. We were happy with that and proceeded with the walk through. Also, to keep in mind we were told this RV was sold as is but had little to no work needed, that it was a "fabulous rv." After doing the walk through, this RV was trash. There were lights that did not work, the awning did not work, the water pump did not work, nor did the heat, the black tank was missing a hose so the whole system was unusable, and the back of the RV had water damage, which we were told the wall was damaged because the man had a coffee pot sitting there and the steam had done it. Needless to say, we will not be back to Camping World because of the lies they fed us. Both Jim and Frank saw were did not know a lot about RV's and took advantage of it. read more

This place had my fifth wheel for over three months and was continuously having to be contacted to find out the status of my repairs. Their phone system was down for several weeks, so I went by there to check on everything, only to be told that they couldn't contact the company (Open Range) to get the needed parts. I got online and on the phone for them and got everything going as for the order. Another month goes by and I still haven't heard from them about the status of MY camper, THEY are holding hostage. I did get a phone call through to them at this point, only to be told the orders had not been correct. They, whoever I talked with, apologized and told me they had to fire the person who I initially dealt with because she was inept and had lost all my paperwork, (which turned out to be a bald faced lie because on my last day (today - 5/7/15 - she was walking around the store in a Camping World outfit - guess she just got promoted - that's called the Peter Principle, by the way.) And around two ago, after they had my camper since January of this year, they called and told me they could not honor the original quote, the woman, first gave me for taking out the slide (to determine what needed repairs, because she did not know what she was doing.) At first I pushed back, when they told me they were going to now have to charge me another $500 just to take slide out, because they should stand behind their quote, no matter what. But, no, stupid me, since I haven't got to go camping this year, YET, I foolishly told them to go ahead and do it. Well, to bring this 1st chapter to where it stands for now, and let me stress, FOR NOW, I drive up to get my camper. I stop at what I thought was a service desk (my bad, it said parts on a sign hanging 10' above me, only to be told I had to step to the service counter, where I stood for almost 20 minutes with no one offering to help me, (there were three persons, no four, at the parts counter just feet away, with at least two of them doing nothing - these people need some serious training in making happy campers at their Camping World - unbelievable.) Finally, I got to see my camper only to find that the 'poopy-hole' caps that had been eaten by squirrels had not been replaced as I had thought was going to happen. And I reached down to take off the partial cap to show them and the sharp edges of the cap sliced my thumb open, with feces running out of the pipe and into my now open and bleeding thumb. They did apologize and got me a Band-Aid! And then without seeing the final bill, I asked for a consult with the General Manager - I just wanted to share all that had went on during my ordeal, in hopes of getting some type of break on what I was originally was told would be around $2k, but now would be $3k because of all the work on my big slide, and to let them know that they had some customer service issues that needed to be addressed. It was like talking to a brick wall. And I wasn't going to argue - so, I just said, let's just get this over with so I can get out of here. And then, that's when the bottom literally fell out - they gave me a bill for just under $4k. I was not a happy camper at all. I signed everything but with some additional narrative - stating that I would be disputing this bill. Then I was told that if I didn't sign without my narrative I couldn't have my camper - they had already ran my AMEX card. I told them to try and stop me from taking my camper since I had already not only paid for it, but treated me like a piece of filth, similar to what washed out and into my sliced open thumb (think I could need a tetanus shot or further medical tests after going through that?) Thought we had found the perfect camper. The salesman told us that an older couple had used this camper as a trade in on a bigger camper. he then told us that the freezer was having some problems but that was all that he thought was wrong with it. we ask if he could keep the price around what we wanted witch was between 7-8,000 and he said he thought that he could. everything was good and we had the money on the way to do the walk through the sales manger called and said that the refrigerator was not working, the microwave didn't work, there were holes in the awning and a piece of floor was coming up from where the slide in was. we were ok with the awning and the microwave and the floor but the refrigerator was going to cost us around 700 to 1,000 dollars and keep in mind that we already had them a check and ready to pay. we told the salesman that if they would take care of the fridge that they had a deal well that was just not going to happen so we told them no deal. when we went to do the walk through we had to wait for 40 min before we could see the camper missing our grandsons ballgame and the tech gave us some clear tape to patch all the holes in the awning. the sales mangers are not pleasant at all. I fell that if they were not willing to fix something as small as the refrigerator then it would have been bad had it had been something like a water leak or damage. they didn't even offer to do half on a new refrigerator so we just didn't feel the need to even ask them to do anything else because they were not willing to work with us. the tech was nice and so was the salesman but when it got down to business they were willing to let us walk and not even work on the deal. poor service and unpleasant mangers make for not a good experience...Rick read more

My motor home refrigerator needed replacing, I called camping world they had it in stock. I purchased it and had them install, long story short 2 additional trips were required to correct their installation,plus a full freezer of fish caught during my vacation in Florida was lost. This is the third time since 2008 that I've had problems with their installations the 1st two were new awning installations, I think I've finally learned my lesson. Go anywhere but here. read more
