I recently dropped my Class C motorhome off at Camping World of Concord because I had fried my power cord, my sewer line was leaking, and my slide was leaking. After sharing a past experience with another Camping World, my point of contact, Ashley Brown, went above and beyond to assist me. She ensured that I was kept up to date on the progress, assisted with filing the warranty claim, did her best to have the rig fixed so that I could return living in it, and did many of the above while out of office sick. She was very professional, offered suggestions/feedback/tips about future appointments, facilitated a quote for an open insurance ticket that the original Camping World never submitted for me, empathized with my situation, and truly wanted to restore my faith in Camping World. We are still waiting for a title so we can put a tag on our motorhome We paid cash We have called many times They refuse to get us a title. We have not been able to travel as our 30 day tag expired in September I even tried calling the main headquarters of Camping World, they don't respond or care either. Brought my camper to Tom Johnson for warranty issues. They had my camper for about a month and was unable to complete the work before I had to take it. I'm waiting for them to mail me a part so that I can fix it myself. The tech I was working with said that he mailed it ( a month and a half ago) but yet I still haven't received it. I find it difficult to believe him only because one of the untruths I was told was that a particular project was completed and when I showed up unannounced I discovered the project wasn't even started. Talked to the service manager and because I didn't purchase the camper there that they had to take care of "their" customers first. Wow, I thought I was a customer or at least a future customer. Guess I was wrong, and with plans on trading for another style, I'll have to find another dealer who treats everyone as "their" customers. After looking Tom Johnson Concord,NC up on the BBB I discovered numerous complaints about their service department. I guess I should have done that first. They have the WORST service customer service of ANY business I've dealt with. Our camper had MINOR issues (a new 2015) and was in service for a month. When we were going through JUST AN APPOINTMENT, we couldn't make one because the woman (Brenda???) didn't understand what we meant. ??? So finally, it's "done," and they call us to pick it up. It WASN'T done, and not only did they NOT give us a print out of what was done, they said that the part was never in to fix it (it was just a VENT COVERING! A VENT COVERING! take one off the lot and replace it!). They said they winterized it. But I don't have an answer about any of the other issues. Why not? Because a month later, NO RETURNED PHONE CALLS, no mailings of an invoice, nothing. We are supposed to be camping next weekend. We took it in JANUARY! We will NEVER, EVER buy from Tom Johnson or Camping World again. I suggest no one else do the same. It's a shame, because we bought a truck and can definitely consider upgrading! So many major issues, my husband took it in to the shop and they claimed to fix it, he knew they lied, because the fake cabinet in the bathroom had never been opened! They called and said it was ready.... My husband hooked it up at the campground that next day after picking it up and water started spewing all over our camper from everywhere, flooding it! I ended up making my 5th wheel purchase at Sonny's Camp N Travel in Concord and I am glad I did too!

My elderly parents purchased a BRAND NEW, 2021, Jayco Class C RV back in October of 2020. So many things have been wrong with it since the purchase - broken seals in the bathroom, broken seals on the refrigerator, among a list of several other issues. This service department has half-fixed these issues numerous times, sending it back to service now for the third time - back in January. The RV is still there, not fixed, while my parents still make payments on their brand new camper that for some reason has had so many issues. They've only had the opportunity to use the camper twice (how they noticed the issues in the first place). While this next part is unrelated to Camping World and their disgraceful customer service, my dad received a cancer diagnosis back last September. The entire reason my parents purchased the RV in the first place was so they could spend more time together. Now, the camper sits in the service department, still not fixed, and they continue to jerk my parents around. My parents even had to pay someone to fix the toilet the last time the RV came out of that service department because when they went away, the toilet was never completed with the seal repair and was never reattached! So the bathroom flooded when they attached the hose and turned the water on, and couldn't use the facilities in their own camper for the first two days they were on vacation. Waiting patiently for camping world to help them, they gave up and called someone to come fix it. CW has YET to refund them for a mistake THEY MADE, and claim they need a receipt - which has been given to 3 different people on three different occasions. This is because their staff and management change so often, that they have never dealt with the same representative more than a time or two. This place is absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service, and it is very apparent that they take advantage of the elderly. If this wasn't the case, the camper would be fixed and my parents would be traveling in it as they hoped to when they purchased it. Dear Mr. Marcus Lemonis, I am writing about the unsatisfactory experience my wife and I have had with our service on our 2022 Thor ACE motorhome. On 29 September 2021 my wife and I purchased a motor home from Camping World. We spent two days at Myrtle Beach Camping World and finally decided on a 2022 Thor ACE 27.2. The purpose of this motorhome was to provide residence for a medical treatment I was receiving at Duke University and would be needed for a stay scheduled 10 January 2022. After a lengthy administrative process, we did a walkthrough and discovered a couple of issues. The driver's inside arm rest popped off and couldn't reattach, There was a small tear in back of the driver's seat. The front slide awning was binding up the slide's closure so it was removed and taken back into the shop. The sofa screen window is missing two clips to keep it in place and there water in the television bay outside. We were assured all of these issues would be resolved at the Camping World closest to us and a service order was written up before we left (Order 154120). We scheduled a short stay at Thousand Trails RV park on 24 October 2021 to further evaluate the condition of our motorhome and realized the exterior door to the unit would release and open while driving. The HDMI cables were not hooking up to the devices. After a stormy night found water pooled inside the unit on driver's side by leveler control and on dash. We also found water in television bay. During the period of 25 October through 29 October 2021 we repeatedly called Camping World Concord to schedule a service appointment since it was the most convenient from our home. However, no one ever returned our phone calls. Oct 29, 2021 we sent an email to marcusvip@campingworld.com regarding the lack of communication from Concord. We received a form letter in response saying we would be contacted in 48 hours. No further follow-up communication. Due to a lack of response, we scheduled an appointment for 3 November 2021 at Camping World Colfax. We dropped off the motorhome and did a walk through with service tech Jeff Hyle. We went through all the issues and we gave him a written list as well. On 4 November 2021 we received a call from Colfax saying there are no notes in the computer for our warranty repairs at time of delivery in Myrtle Beach but he would follow up and give us a call as to the status. On 5 November 2021 Jeff from Colfax requested the Service Advisor's name in Myrtle Beach. Jeff stated he could not locate any service notes in the computer. On 10 November 2021 we received a copy of an email from Rick Rhodes, Service Manager in Colfax to a Service Manager in Myrtle Beach stating we brought the RV in with the punch list and they need the broken topper to claim for the warranty and asking what was the we-owe. This was a long email chain stating staffing changes were causing some miscommunication. After two weeks and no communication, we contacted Jeff at Colfax on 22 November 2021 and requested the status of our repairs. He said he tried to contact Myrtle Beach and could not reach anyone at the service department. I immediately called the Myrtle Beach service department and received a call back from Shawn Mcdermott within five minutes. We asked for a copy of work order 154120 to be sent to myself and Jeff in Colfax. Myrtle Beach service manager Shawn Mcdermott sent us a screen shot of the service request and his email to Colfax saying he noted that there are no notes because the work order was opened on 11/22/2021. On 6 December 2021 we received an Email from Jeff Hyle at Colfax stating the tech has our work order and our RV is next for diagnostic. On 15 December 2021 we received a copy of an email from Jeff Hyle to Myrtle Beach asking if they located the slide topper. This has been 6 weeks and neither of the service departments has identified where the slide topper is. The email from Shawn Mcdermott Myrtle Beach stated they never received a response on the topper and cannot process warranty without the topper. The email chain circles back to staffing changes. On 17 December 2021 we received a phone call from Camping World Colfax and discussed the following issues: Driver's inside arm rest popped off and couldn't reattach- the chair weld is broken. Will replace chair Small tear in back of the driver's seat- Will replace chair Slide awning (front) was binding up the slide's closing so it was removed and taken back into the shop.-Will replace Sofa screen window is missing two clips to keep it in place-Will replace Noticed water in the television bay outside- o/s bay seal needs replaced Water leaking inside driver's window- The frameless window is not seated correctly, will remove and replace RV door popped open while driving and had recurring issues popping open-door frame needs reset, striker pocket needs redrilled to align properly Door would not lock in the closed position-door frame needs reset, striker pocket needs redrilled to align properly D read more

Service appears to be non-existent. We took our new travel trailer that we purchased from the Concord location in for some warranty work in the middle of June, 2018. After having the trailer for a week, we picked it up without any repairs being made. That was okay - they said they were waiting to hear from the manufacturer for approval to perform the warranty work. It's now 3 1/2 weeks later and we haven't heard a word from the Camping World. I called the service department this past Monday and again today and left voice messages requesting an update on the status of the warranty authorization. I'd like to address my experience with camping world in concord. We knew nothing about a camper but being sr. Citizen we felt it would be fun . So we went there met Dylan our new sales person and he was very informative and helped us along the way it took us about two months to purchase but we finally did buy a Flagstaff Epro we're enjoying it very much and I must say whenever we do have any issue at all big or small Wendell in the service department has been nothing but gracious and helping us and going the extra mile when we were confused and didn't understand some of the small things in the camper I read a lot of bad reviews about camping world but I have to say it's been one of the best experiences with the service department I have ever had I highly recommend camper world in Dillon our sales person and Wendell as a service person. read more

It seems as if my review is redundant, if one reads the previous reviews of Camping World of Concord attitude toward service. I will say, that if I had read any reviews prior to me purchasing a 2019 Coleman 2855BH, I would have ran the other way. They do whatever it takes to make a sale. At first, I was told my credit score was 2 points shy of allowing them to sell me a camper with no money down. I agreed to go home and retrieve a credit card to be able to put $1000 down on the unit I chose. As I was driving home, I decided to nix the sale, as nothing had been done to finalize a sale at that point. So, I didn't go back and I ignored the phone calls from the sales guy. I felt bad at not saying I was not going through with the sale. I finally answered a call a week later. Anyway, to make a long story shorter, I agreed to buy the unit I chose. Get this, with no money down. I just had to get down there right then and there and sign my life away. That should have been a red flag, but I didn't notice it. One of the papers I signed was for an extended warranty. Waste of money. Don't do it. I had noticed from the first time going camping in my camper, the water pressure at the kitchen sink was almost non existent. I called to inquire about getting it looked at. I explained to the service rep what was happening, and all he said was "it's out of warranty." Yes, I know that. I have an extended warranty, I told him. What I wanted for him to say was " okay, bring the unit in and we'll take a look." What I got was "Oh. That's nice you have an extended warranty." He wasn't the least bit interested in helping out a customer. From what I have been reading on this review site as well as in a Trailer LIfe magazine, others have a hard time getting any customer service from camper dealers. So. Don't say I didn't warn you. When we started looking for a RV we looked at multiple places and then came here. Our salesmen Jordan and Rick were awesome! Jordan found us an RV in our price range and sent us pictures. It was love at first sight! We finally got to go see it and drive it, it was Sunday and they close earlier on Sundays, but the finance department and Jordan and Rick stayed until we got things somewhat finalized. We finished everything else over the phone and by fax over the next 2 days and we go to pick up our Brand New to us RV on Saturday!! Buyer beware!!! I should have read the reviews before I bought a camper from camping world. My camper is only 4 months old and we bought it for a trip to Canada. Well that didn't go well. I live in Charlotte NC and my camper has been sitting up in Harrisburg PA for over a month with a bent spindle on the axle. The serviceman in PA said he has seen these issues recently on that kind of axle. Update .... axel fixed at no charge a month and a half later and they "camping world" knows I spent $700 to just get the camper to there shop. But they won't communicate with us about it. They are less than 2 miles away from my house, but i will never buy anything from them again. read more

Really, really bad customer service. When my elderly dad and I politely asked a group of employees sitting around if one of them could quick ring up the two items we had because another customer was having involved issues with their only cashier in the store, we were rudely told that not one of the 20 or so staff hanging around could help and that we could go ahead and just "wait in line". After another 5-10 minutes of "waiting" without any acknowledgement from the cashier, we asked for assistance more forcefully and a very nice woman immediately appeared and gave us a 20% discount for our inconvenience. The other customer was still discussing his issue with the cashier after we made our purchase! If only the nice lady had been called over when we had asked the first time :( read more

I echo the other complaints with servicing your RV. No need to get into details but the lack of communication and the time to complete the warranty work is unacceptable. Coming up to three months now. I only had my traveler trailer for 2 months. These were issues that the brand new trailer had before I bought it. Still no end in sight. We had purchased a 2018 Bounder35k and after 1 trip the steps stopped working so we took it in and within a week we got a call that is was ready. We got ready to go on another trip and the steps did not work, so we called and were told the service department is a week or two behind. We made an appointment for 9 days away. On our appointment day we took it in and told we would get a call 3 days from now. Those three days passed so we called and no answer from the service department. After trying for two more days l left a message for the general manager to call us. No call back. BTW during the times we called we also sent emails. After 22 days of our motorhome sitting across the street we drove over and picked it up so we could go on a trip with our grandkids. We were told the parts for the steps would be here in three days. On the trip the steps sometimes worked as if it is a loose connection somewhere. I am not sure if the parts they ordered is the problem but l am sure l will pay for them either way. I may give Camping World of Concord NC one last chance to get their act to read more

First, I am a disabled veteran on a limited budget. Secondly, the sales person knew this from the start of our search for an RV for my family. We settled on a 10 year old Newmar Ventana. It appeared to be in great shape however, since it was 10 years old, I purchased the extended Warranty/Service agreement. Cost $8000.00. I didn't even blink since I planned on keeping the bus for years. I asked the person selling me the warranty/service agreement if it was a bumper to bumper agreement. Looking me dead straight in the eye she said yes. Imagine my surprise when after camping just 5 times, in two years since we bought the bus, we now have an $7,700.00 repair bill. The leveler system has to be completely replaced because it is inoperative and is obsolete. No biggie I thought! I have the warranty/service contract. WRONG! When I called Camping World Concord to be provided with greater understanding, I was told since the parts are obsolete, the warranty/service contract that I paid $8,000.00 for is not responsible. Why you ask? The system is obsolete and if you had read line 9 before you bought the warranty/service you would have known this. Now, no one told me this when I asked and was told "bumper to bumper no exclusions at the dealership. Moreover, when I tried to explain my wife is an attorney and a former judge and she didn't see line nine immediately, the finance manager hung up on me. Telling me to contact their attorney. I strongly urge you to reconsider buying from this dealership. I have found other Camping World stores more up front and honest. I feel like I was completely taken advantage of. I would not ever do business with Camping World at Concord again. I paid over $8000 for a 45 point inspection, repairs, and two new tires for a coach I was purchasing. I explained that I wanted the inspection to determine if the coach had issues and if so, I would use their information to negotiate on the price with the private seller. The inspection was supposed to cover electrical, inverters, outlets, generators, appliances, etc. I purchased a new awning-over $1800, I paid for repairs to a slide that was not extending correctly-over $694. I paid over $600 to have the roof repaired after it was inspected and determined that it needed to be cleaned and resealed. After receiving the results of the inspection, I ended up purchasing the coach from a private individual. I picked the coach up on a Sunday from Camping World and drove it back to my home approximately six hours away. As I was driving the coach home, I was advised by a motorist that I had some type of tape coming off my roof. Further, the house batteries were not charging even though I was traveling. Additionally, the refrigerator was not working. When I stopped, I attempted to extend my "new" awning. It did not work. It would not extend. The slide that I paid to have inspected and repaired would not extend properly. (Same problem as before.) I have been informed by Cummins that they believe I may need the inverter replaced-$4500. Did I inform you that the macerator pump does not work? After contacting Camping World, I spoke with a "supervisor" who informed me that she would offer me no assistance unless I gave them the right to inspect the coach. I informed her that she could come to my home and inspect the coach, but that wasn't good enough. She wanted me to drive the coach 12 hours to Concord to permit her to inspect. Amazingly poor inspection. I was never advised that the refrigerator didn't work, that the macerator pump did not work, that the inverter did not work, that there were three holes in my roof that had tape over them that was coming off. Amazingly poor repair work. The brand-new awning does not work. The repair of my slide does not work. Run from these people!!!!!!!!! read more

If you need your RV repaired I suggest you find another place. Worst service department with which I've done business. But I don't blame the service people. I blame management. They don't give their employees the tools to give good customer service. That's sad because the service people take the brunt of the complaints. I made an appointment, why they take appointments is a mystery to me, for warranty work. I dropped the unit off and two weeks later they call to ask when I am bringing the unit in so they could make the repairs. They didn't know the unit was in their lot. They then kept the unit another two weeks, and this is in January by the way, so now we are up to one month since I dropped the RV off. I emailed them and complained and told them I wanted it fixed. I didn't want my RV in their lot all this time. It was only then that they decided to get on it and make the repairs. Today I went to pick my RV up and they didn't have it pulled off the hill where they keep them and told me they would have someone pull it around. I waited 35 mins before I confronted them on this and expressed my displeasure that they were wasting my time. I will never take my RV there for repairs again and suggest that others find a repair shop with better service. Oh and I would like to add my name to the list of people who took their coach in only to find out that the work was in fact not completed. read more

Tom Johnson was the Worst experience I have ever gone thru...bought new coach and it's been in shop 38 days since I bought it 50 days ago.. AMERICAN EAGLE 2014 45T...Can't believe this dealer sold me a lemon and has done nothing about it...except blame Freightliner and American Coach. To be fair the coach has been to 3 different freightliner shops and they can't seem to fix it either.. We bought a 5th wheel last year. Complained to them about a low tire. They had it in for service for over 2 weeks. They said they fixed it but we've had to keep putting air in it every time we traveled. We just took the tire over to Discount tire and they said that the tire had been plugged. They said we were lucky it didn't blow out on us and that it's not legal to plug an rv tire. So someone at Camping World plugged the tire. They are now getting us a new tire. The service department never answers the phone. We always have to drive over to get an answer on anything. Poor service. read more

Run!!! Do not buy anything from this company. Awful customer service. This is the worst experience my husband I have ever had with a company. We purchased a new 5th wheel and it has spent more time at the Camping World than we have owned it. We have taken our 5th wheel in for warranty work several times...every time it takes a couple of months to repair and nobody will return phone calls. So this last time was in May that we had it in for work it was ready in July. We pick it up (promised it would be fixed and cleaned) and cleaning was not done. Due to us being in a hurry to start our vacation we didn't noticed that someone had damaged our awning (looked like they ran it into the side of something) until we we were cleaning it. Employee with camping world damaged it and didn't report it. So we take it back. It's September 18, 2019 and they keep ordering the wrong parts. Husband received a call a couple weeks ago that it was ready and someone would deliver it. So an hour after they were suppose to deliver it to us we start driving over there to pick it up. We received a phone call as we are about to arrive that they had ordered the wrong part and it wasn't ready. They have ordered the wrong part 3 times now. The people working the desk laugh at you (I guess they think it's funny that we are paying for something we don't get to use..I don't know). My husband is contacting a Lawyer so if anyone that is having issues from Camping World in Concord please comment/contact us. I hope I can help someone by this review so they don't have the headache we have been having. I wished I would've read the reviews because I would have not stepped foot in this business. read more

I would give zero stars if I could...... We purchased a 2019 Flagstaff pop up camper on July 8th, 2019 from the Concord location. We went camping the same weekend and found that the camper had several issues. Three major leaks that have caused water damage on counter tops, 3 doors on the camper would not open, the lock to the main door fell apart in our hands when we went to lock it, 2 stabilizers were bent, the radio does not work, the AC dumped a lot of water on us and one of the vents feels like the air is constricted. My husband took the camper to the service department on July 17th to have repairs. Ashley Brown and the entire service department has been a nightmare to deal with, lies, avoiding returning calls and very rude. We were told it could take up to 10 weeks before it will be completed. Keep in mind we had only had the camper for a week. Today, my husband got a call that we could pick up the camper. When he arrived he was told that NO repairs have been completed or even started. Never in my life have ever seen anything like this. We are the owners of a 19 year old Nomad and not once have we had any issues. So now we have to make payments on a camper that will be sitting on Camping Worlds parking lot until they get approval through the warranty company??? There goes the trips we were taking our kids and grandkids on until the work gets completed. What a shame......I will never recommend this company to anyone to purchase a camper. To the sales department......John Kirven has been amazing to us. John has tried to help us in every way he can getting the service department to start making the repairs. Our RV was dropped off in January for the free 23 point check up and we were having trouble since the day we bought it brand new with the slide. I thankfully had a 6 year extended warranty. They took over 5 months to fix it, the store manager and service manager refused our requests to talk to them, and we had to resort to calling Marcus Lemonis helpline who finally was able to get them to fix it. They also told us that we needed a complete resealing as it was never sealed correctly. It was a brand new 2019 and had under 3000 miles. They charged over $1300 for the sealing and they charged shipping on parts to fix the RV plus $226 for them to wear PPE's why they fixed our RV! This is a very shady RV sales and repair place. Go anywhere else but do not go there! I wish I would've read the reviews on them before we ever took our RV to Camping World for service. We considered hiring a lawyer but decided to warn people instead. They also tried to tell us our battery needed replaced which was not true. Beware of these people! read more

Although my husband was very happy with the help he received, I was disappointed that, as I found the grocery cart outside, I had to hold open the front door with one hand while trying to push the cart in with the other, all while three reps stood there watching me, offering zero assistance. I am capable of doing what needed to be done by myself. But, as I accomplished it, I thought of older people who might not have been able to push in the cart. My suggestion is automated door opening or some sort of push button for people who have disabilities entering your stores. Just a thought. read more

I put up a review the other day saying that camping world and the salesman Danny Dixon made it right. Well that changed . My husband went signed the paperwork and paid a down payment and was told to come back Friday January 28th to pick up the camper. We got a call from Danny Dixon needing some paystubs and W2 's and we sent them. Little bit later I was on the phone with the salesman Danny Dixon and told me that we aren't getting the camper after he just told us we were. While on the phone with him he called me a liar and was telling me it would be ten days before we could get out down payment back. We did get our money back that day since my husband spoke to a manager. I wouldn't never tell anyone to go to this place and buy a camper . One they get you ready and excited then they call you a liar and they have no problem lying to you and no customer service at all. The general manager was rude as well. No care at all if they screw you out of money or anything. The worse place ever !!!!!! Will be getting a camper but not from here!!!!! Zero stars would be more like it. Beyond horrible experience! Rude sales people, incompetent service techs, outrageously high prices. You can expect a call back from their customer service department when hell freezes over. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I was working with the customer service staff for checking-in my travel trailer for some repairs and a recall notice from Keystone. I was very pleased with the very friendly young ladies helping me get what I needed. Though I was made aware it won't be looked at for several days, it was nice for them to let me know ahead of time. In a perfect world it would be done same day, and if I was traveling, I would hope they would have put my coach next up. Just so you know, when you schedule an appointment, a week or more out, it is not to fix the problem, it is only to get a place in the queue. Do not ask for your tires to be courtesy checked for air pressure, they charge $65.00 to do it as a "service" item. This sounds odd especially if you are spending a thousand dollars in the store and garage. I did get a brake controller installed in my truck on the spot, that made me happy. Another service tech talked to me about my issues and offered many logical reasons and took time to explain the reason behind the failure so I would not repeat the same mistake. Kudos. read more
