Can't get anyone to call me back. Only time they call you is if you are going to buy. Told me after my camper was fixed they would buy it. Quoted me almost 3 times what the cost to actually fix would be. Had it fixed by them. Still no call back. Pretty sure that's against the law. Now the GM is avoiding my phone calls. Went to RV show in Greensboro to purchase accessories but instead purchased a new trailer. Griff our salesperson from Myrtle Beach was amazing. No pressure lots of knowledge and handled us very nicely. We picked up at the Colfax location and Derek reviewed every detail about the new pull behind. He knew every detail, everything we asked and more. He was such a nice man and appreciate him taking all the time with us that we did. Hopefully we will keep this trailer for a while, but if we need to upgrade or have any questions we definitely coming back to camping world. read more

Mechanics did a great job; however I found the Service Reps to be shady and non-responsive. 1) I was initially told that a generator fuel pump was covered by a warranty; however after install they stated I had to pay out of pocket. 2) Then I challenged the bill and they removed some frivolous charges and stated I would be refunded 2hrs labor and the labor rate reduced "across the board". Then later stated that "across the board" only applied to the fuel pump and not the other work I had accomplished. 3) I have gone up the food chain with their Service Department and spoken with the GM. I placed no less than 6 calls attempting to get reimbursement and get promises but no return calls as of this writing. Either intentionally or gross incompetence, it appears to be a strategic ploy to frustrate the customer to the point of just giving up. I wouldn't take a kids bicycle to the but if you do, have any oral statements placed in writing as their word is worthless. I did think the mechanic did a decent job. read more

We bought our 34 ft RV there in 06/2023 for $42,500. We contacted Camping World 09/2023 to sell it back to them. We only needed it to live in while we built out house. We spoke with the Colfax location, then their consignment department, then customer service. Their quote was $18,500! $24,000 less than it was worth 15 months ago. I realize the RV would depreciate in value some, but not $24,000. The consignment department told me we were taken advantage of and paid too much for it. Other companies I tried to sell the RV back to said the same thing. Now I am stuck with an RV we don't need anymore and can't sell. The Service department is unethical and possible committing fraud. The Serice as the worst I have ever seen! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM! It took them over a week to say that it needed to be replaced. Got $3000.00 The fabric was fine, the arms did not appear bent to me. Out of line yes, but not bent. The motor worked with no issues. I then found out the Service Agents are paid on commission. I was told to file an insurance claim. I Thought I was being overcharged and the Service Agent was noting acting ethically and possibly fraudulently. I brought my concern to the Service Manager, who had the estimate revised to $1,200. Again, I stated only the end cap and tube is damaged. I revised estimated $670 and "it will work" So I had the work done. Six Week later it was completed. I went to pick up the RV. The battery was Dead, I could not open the awning and inspect the repair. The broken parts I asked to be returned were not there. And my Hitch was Damaged. The Awning was used once and the End Cap can off the Roller Tube, damaging the End Cap, the Roller Tube, the other side (Front or right side) the awning. Also damaging the arms on both sides and the side of my RV. I tried to drop off the RV but the Service Manager was off. I spoke with the General Manager. He was argumentative. Stated "We recommended the Awning be replaced". I tried to explain to him that this started out as a simple repair. Maybe the job wasn't big enough to make money for the Service Agent I just wanted the end cap and roller repair. Which did not happen. The GM implied I was cheap because I did not replace the Awning and the damage was somehow my fault. It appears the end cap was removed and was not correctly secured or attached to the roller tube. The Cap was only attached by less than of 1/8 of an inch of the roller tube. Not enough to hold the awning together. Do they offer any kind of warranty for your repairs? I contacted Camping World Customer Service and the reply I received that I was told that the awning needed to be repaired and it would have failed if not replace. That the awning was repaired per manufactures standards and the correct screws were placed into the roller. (Enough through that is where the awning failed) The roller should have been replaced. That they were not going to do anything for me because I was told the whole awning should have been replaced. But the FACT they attached the end back onto to roller with less that 1/8 inch of material and into end roller that would have held the screws. Camping world failed to replace or repair the parts that I requested. When the awning failed, they refuse to offer any service warrant. It is simple they failed to replace my parts that I requested. It appeared they wanted a larger work order. It appears they were up charging me and acted unethically and possible frequently. read more

We got all the way back to our truck when the salesman came out and asked what it would take for us to buy it that day. This was on Labor Day. We told him our condition. He went back in and talked to his manager. He called us back in and we agreed on a price and terms. We gave them $3,500 as a down payment, signed some paperwork, and was planning to pick it up on Wednesday. Tuesday he called us and said that he needed over $4,000 more and our payment was going to be an extra $50 a month. I realize that it was a holiday, but they didn't say if the bank would approve the terms or not. So we did not approve of the new deal and we got our money back. We were very disappointed. Took out camper in for a couple of issues with roof, insurance adjuster came looked at it approved repairs as there were a couple of tears in it. Instead of bringing camper inside or cover it, they left It outside and now we have a lot bigger issues A our mattress is water stained, had to throw out bed clothing that was wet, and insulation in the nose is all soaked!! The first thing I have to say to anybody considering buying a camper from Campers World in Colfax is BUYER BEWARE!!!!. Sure, a lot of people do not read reviews and I was just as guilty as many who took the reputation of Campers World and didn't read them. Well, I hope when you read this BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! When I saw one comment from a person stated DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM....I TOTALLY AGREE!!! If I could give them a 0 or negative in numbers I would. Let me start from the beginning. We went online to search for a smaller unit for our kids to go camping. We had luck with other Campers World and believe me when I say we have bought several campers over the past 20 years and all were trade ups to bigger units. Online there was a super good sale clearance of 2022 units and we saw a few that we liked and wrote the VINs down. So, we drove 2 1/2 hours to look at the units. When we got there, the salesman started to show us units, and guess what...none of them were the ones we were interested in. When we asked the salesman, he said they were on hold for others and we unavailable. So, he started to show us other units. Come on...all of them!!! When we finally found a unit that we liked, the next step was to get approved for financing. All those steps took about 3 -4 days, and because we were so far out of town we ended up faxing everything twice; the first time the paper work was lost which was not good. Finally, we go a call that we were approved and went in for the signing of paper work and walk through. Now, I want to warn EVERYONE who does decide to buy a camper from here to watch and look at everything in the walk through. Our bad, because we had purchased campers in the past we knew what to look for and that was a HUGE mistake. The walk through was horrible regardless. TAKE TIME and look at everything. The table was down in sleeping position and the person said "oh you know how to put the table up so we will leave it". MISTAKE number ONE. The next mistake was the furnace. It was around 75 out so when we tried to start the heater using the thermostat, the guy said "oh it won't come on because it is too hot. MISTAKE number TWO. We took his word that it worked. When we got to the place we were going to set the camper up at, come to find out the heater did not work. We emailed service department and the manager of the department was very argumentative and said to us that there is a button on the side of the heater; well guess what....we could not find it. We ended up taking the camper for servicing in Marion Campers World and had to pay $75 for analysis and parts and there was a button located behind the drawer. INTERESTING to say the least. Next step was signing papers. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PART BECAUSE IT IS A SCAM...I MEAN A SCAM!!! The finance department is very deceptive. We began signing papers with no explanation on anything. Told us that he got us a better interest rate because of all the additions .... OUR BAD...what additions? Come to find out they were all the extra things that financing usually goes through but didn't and we signed thinking they were honest. Lastly, I want to say this to anybody doing ANY business with this place; TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE and you will be served well. Other Campers World are much better; Marion and Concord are great. My husband and I bought this camper brand new. Our initial service of the purchase of this vehicle was fine because we did it all over the phone. When we went to pick up the RV, that's when the problems started to arise. Things that typical first time RV years don't know what to look for or what you see in the attached pictures. For instance, the caulking in the shower that you wouldn't know isn't there until you notice a leak in the bathroom over into the kitchen. The sink that looks like it has dropped was cracked underneath because they used very thin wood to hold it up. Which also caused leaking. The sink which provides no water pressure and leaks. The list goes on and on our service has not been great and this is the condition of the supposedly completed repairs. We are so disappointed in the service we have been given and an rv that was brand new and can't get the repairs done to look brand new. read more

Horrible. We bought a mobile RV from Camping World in Raleigh (Garner) in July and paid them to do the dmv work. After two months they still hadn't filed the paperwork with the dmv even though they kept telling us they had (as I called to enquirer along the way they kept telling me they'd already done it and were just waiting. Liars!). Because of the delay and the dmv being behind in paperwork due to the pandemic we still don't have the title to this vehicle. I'd like to sell this vehicle now but cannot. After hiking recently in the mountains and almost getting stuck in the woods at night, we decided to take a look at campers. We stopped into Camping World, and Ryan Brown was our sales associate. Ryan was super! He asked the appropriate questions and was able to narrow down what he showed us to just what we'd like. He showed us several travel trailers, and then said "I think you'll like this one the best." He was right, as that was the one we bought! That afternoon, we signed the deal and it was a fair price. A few days later we came by to sign the rest of the papers and pick up our Forest River Cherokee Travel Trailer. Ryan helped us find good insurance, and also took us through the Camping World store to help us shop for our necessities. Without Ryan, we would have been clueless as to what we needed. This is all new to us! Chase, the finance manager, did a great job explaining everything to us (service agreements, warranties, etc.). We learned that we have great coverage on our travel trailer. There were a lot of papers to sign and read through, but Chase made it painless for us with his explanations. Across the street is the service department where we met Dwight. Thank goodness for Dwight. He was awesome and gave us a run through of everything inside and out on our travel trailer. He explained everything and answered all of our many questions. He also set up our truck to pull the travel trailer. If you're interested in getting an RV/Camper, I highly recommend Camping World in Colfax. So, I must say, that after my update, the conditions of the dump station at Camping World have improved considerably this past month. Whether my complaints were the result, I'm not sure. avoid buying a unit from herr after buying our unit on 03/14/22 from this camping world location. we decided to upgrade to a bigger unit. come to find out that after 45 days they have mot even summit the paperwork to the dmv for the title. i have been trying to get an update on where they at at this process and theyd either ignore our calls out hang up on us. is impressive how much they customer service has change since we bought the unit. all their management team can careless once you get out of the dealerships. starting with their general manager that put the blame on a third party company and avoid his responsibilities and his financial manager chase rhodes that had the audacity of calling my mom and my wife thives. as a camper all you want out of an rv is to create good memories that last a lifetime. if you are on the same mentality my recommendation is that you avoid doing business with this dealer and their poorly train staff. if i were someone on the upper management of this company i would identify the poor customer service culture they have and the immense gap on employees training as far as customer service and soft skills. this dates is kind of hard to get away with the old culture of doing business. read more

Worst place I have ever dealt with. They do not deserve any stars as far as I am concerned. I recommend recording your conversations with the service department and keep a memo of record and get everything in writing that you can. It took 5 months to get warranty work completed and was lied to about repairs made. It's a long story but I have documentation that backs up my statements above. Check out their other reviews before doing business there. If you buy your RV from another dealer and go there for service or warranty work you will not be valued. I was even told to pick up my unit before the warranty work was completed or be charged a storage fee so they could service other units that were purchased there. Forest River told me that I could go to any service center that sold their products. I always shop around and will travel to another state to purchase big ticket items if I can save money. Even with my vehicles if I drive four hours away to get a better deal, I can always go to my local dealer for service and warranty work with no issues. After my first dealings with Camping World of Colfax and finding out after getting back home that my camper still was not fixed, I took the drive to the dealership where I originally purchased it. After inspecting my unit the service department turned in a warranty claim to Forest River and was denied the claim because of an open ticket still at Camping world of Colfax. Forest River contacted me and sent documentation proving that the parts ordered for the biggest problem had been delivered and signed for. They even had the names of the people who signed for the parts. These parts were in their possession when I picked up my unit. I was told that those repairs had been made already. I was in a hurry when I picked the unit up and only did a quick look at the repairs. The control module inside the door was actually hanging off the wall and I went back inside and they sent someone out to remount it to the wall. I was told that it had been repaired and they must have forgotten to remount it. So I had to return the camper to Colfax again to have it repaired. I missed over a day from my job in travel time plus a tank of fuel or more trying to get this resolved. I was disrespected at Camping World and more or less threatened with a storage fee if I didn't come pick it up the first time. Plus the comment that my unit was not purchased there and that is was basically in their way didn't help the situation. I wonder if they turned in the work order to Forest River as being complete before it actually was? I was disrespected, lied to and bullied. I have waited a week before making any comments hoping that I would cool off but the more I write, the more disgusted I get. Purchased a camper from this place and had a pretty good experience. My salesman was nice and I feel like I got a decent payment. What I had issue with was when I was going to purchase some supplies at that same place. No attendant was at the register. On top of that when she did show up she wasn't even friendly. We just purchased our second travel trailer from camping world in Colfax. Ethan Riffe was our salesman and was very helpful answering any questions we had and helping with the whole process. Chase Rhodes helped us with the finance portion and was also very helpful in answering any questions. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that we have a few issues already with the camper that we're going to have to get fixed. We're unable to lock the deadbolt on the door due to the hole in the door frame doesn't seem to be drilled low enough for the lock to come all the way out. Also, my husband had to fix the blinds on the top bunk that the string was too short and the whole blind fell. I wish that I could assign a negative number of stars. This place has to be the single, absolute worst place in which to do business with in the US. I purchased my trailer here...my experience was equal to dealing with a horrible auto dealership. When driving away with my new camper, they let me drive away with an incorrect-sized ball (smaller than for what the trailer was sized). I only purchased from Camping World because I was trading in a trailer that was purchased at another Camping World location. I didn't imagine that the Colfax location would be as horrible as it is. I was supposed to receive a refund of my previously purchased extended warranty and GAP insurance. Sales/finance manager had me fill out the paperwork and said he would send it for processing. Five to six months later, I had yet to receive the $1,500 owed. I called Good Sam; the paperwork had never been sent. I emailed scanned copies of the forms I had filled out earlier (directly to Good Sam) - and I received a check. I called and emailed the CW of Colfax to complain. The manager simply blamed my previous dealership. No apology, just excuses. I knew he had reportedly emailed at least one of the forms to the other dealer...but nothing was ever received by Good Sam. There was no follow-up with Good Sam or the other dealer. Out of sight, out of mind. I politely requested the money I would have made in interest if I had received the funds when they had reportedly sent the forms (~ $75). No response. When one of my frameless windows in the trailer was broken, after trying every other place I could think of to get the window fixed, with much regret I called Camping World of Colfax to request that they order the window for me. I called AT LEAST five times over a 2 to 3 week period. Absolutely no response. None. Sometimes the phone would ring...come back to the woman who answered the phone...she had no clue...she would try to transfer me again. It was like I was in a never-ending call loop from he**. Two times I called and left a voicemail (with no indication of whose voicemail it was)....again, no response. You might think...they probably were avoiding his call...but I never identified myself (out of my own paranoia). I only needed them to order the window from the manufacturer. Simple. They couldn't return a telephone call (heaven forbid that they answer the phone to begin with). Looking back on this experience, I like to mentally kick myself for wasting so much of my time trying to reach out and communicate with this business. I have spent this much time drafting this review, not to get this off my chest (I've already done this with family and friends), but to hopefully save you, the reader, from wasting your time and money on this organization. You may want to shop in their store, but I would not recommend any other interaction with anyone at the business. One simple locking-of-eyes with an employee can result in a slow, sucking removal of your soul. Don't make eye contact, keep your head down and your hand safely on your wallet or purse. Shop for a camper somewhere that will be responsive, professional, and is willing and able to communicate with you. It should not require that much work on your part to spend that much money on a camper. Regarding my window....I called RV-Outlet in Danville, spoke directly with their service department. It was amazing, I called...I asked for the service department...they transferred me...and I actually I spoke with someone. I requested the window be ordered, gave him the necessary information. He ordered it. It was delivered and installed within 2 weeks. It is amazing how much better RV-Outlet appeared in comparison to CW of Colfax - and all they had to was simply be functionally competent. Nothing overly special, just competent. However i am mainly mentions here is the trim panel on the slide section was pop up because it was lack of screw as i understand that this part should be cover under warranty it's Base stone on the sticker stick on the side doors camper said structural under 3 years warranty . i pulled camper up there wish they would fix it but the guy name Jason try to excused and kept saying that the panel not under warranty . I called Camping World to determine if they had an item I was looking for and spoke to the cashier Kelly. She told me they in fact had the part and I thanked her for checking. I did not ask her to hold the item for me. I was able to go there the same day and the item was no where to be found on the shelf and it appeared the item was sold out to my disappointment. The cashier asked me what I was looking for and she said that I spoke to her on the phone and she put the item aside for me when I called because it was the last one . That was very nice especially since I did not ask her to do that. So the drive there was not a waste of time and I got the item I wanted. In February I took my 5th wheel 150 miles to Camping World of Colfax, NC from where I'm staying in Virginia to have a slide rebuilt, my electricity fixed, and my pipes replaced in my bathroom. Three weeks later they called me to let me know my camper was fixed. I paid them slightly over $9,300.00 for the work. In August I get up one morning for work and my lights were not working. I took my camper back 150 miles to Camping World. I reminded them of the previous and said while it's here please replace the bathroom sink faucet, seal the bathroom vent closed, and put on a new set of stairs on the outside. Approximately a week later they said my camper was done. I drove 150 miles picked it up brought it back to Virginia where I'm staying. I set up my camper only to find out the steps were not put on, the faucet was not installed and I had no electricity. I don't think they actually even opened my camper. Due to me being heated a co-worker of mine called and convinced them to pick it up and fix it correctly. They sent someone out in the next couple of days to pick my camper up. They kept it four about 3 to 4 weeks and brought it back to me. I do have electricity now, the steps are now installed, the bathroom sink faucet is installed. Today I discover this when this tropical storm is coming over us from Hurricane Michael. My vent was not sealed shut and water was pouring in soaking my bathroom floor as if you turned a faucet on. They have called me wanting $900 dollars from me as well. Keep in mind I had to pay for other living arrangements while my work home was in the shop. I was lied to and treated unfairly. once again, brand new camper in for service. they have had it 2 weeks THIS time and still have not ordered the part. We have had this camper for one year and they have had it 5+ months. 3 times for the same thing. Always get it back filthy, they park it under the nasty tree I guess. Once we had to get it ourselves, had a heck of a time nobody even offers to help, that after waiting 45 minutes for them to bring it out. So no camping again this weekend. Are they going to start making payments for all the time they have had it? "we'll give you a gift card" yeah, that happened. New service manager? ok... not helping there either.
