EDIT: Norris Automotive issued an apology on a review, after reading other reviews I do believe…read morethis to be a genuine mistake from them. I brought my car to Norris Automotive because it was local and my vehicle had to be towed. From the very beginning, this turned into one of the most frustrating and dishonest service experiences I have ever had. I was told my car was flooded, needed a tune up and a new battery. The estimate was already steep at $600, but since the car was already there, I agreed, thinking at least the work would be done properly. Then I get the call that car is ready, the total is now $705. Annoying, but I stayed hopeful that the extra cost meant quality work. I was wrong. I pick up my car, pay the bill, and the receipt says I was charged for new spark plugs and a new battery. That's it?? When I get home, I pop the hood and to my surprise, the same corroded battery is still sitting there. On top of that, my engine cover is now cracked, something that was not damaged when I dropped the car off. I call immediately. Ryan puts me on hold and comes back with, "If you come back tomorrow, we will put the battery in." No explanation. No apology. No accountability for charging me for work that clearly was not done. At that moment, all trust was gone. I would not trust this shop to put air in my tires. I told them I wanted my battery money refunded. Ryan says I have to bring my card back in. On the drive over, I notice I was also charged an environmental and supply fee, something I would understand if they had actually replaced and disposed of a battery, but they did not. When I walk in, Ryan tries to play it casual and asks for my card. I ask him directly, "So I am paying $500 for four spark plugs?" He looks me dead in the eye and says yes, $110 for the spark plugs and $290 for labor. Oh, you mean the same labor that was supposed to include installing the battery they never installed. Absolutely unbelievable. I also ask about the environmental fee, he only offers half back.. Wtf? This place charged me for work that was not done, damaged my vehicle, raised the price after the fact, and offered no reasoning other than it was "an honest mistake". So you admit you have no quality control? If you value your money, your car, and your peace of mind, do not go here. Receipts of initial battery charge and refund attached. Stay clear.

Great customer service!…read more Our church has been using this shop for years and has always been pleased with their service. Ryan always provides wonderful customer service and makes sure our vans are safe for travel. If you are in need of a mechanic, I highly recommend their shop.

I won't bury the lede: I will never return to Wilson Tire…read more What originally drew me in was seeing lots of cars out front - many of them police vehicles. I mistakenly took that as a sign of quality. But now I realize public sector contracts don't require the same scrutiny -officers aren't paying out of pocket, so if service is subpar, it's no skin off their backs. My Chevy Tahoe's AC had gone out and was blowing warm air. Knowing a bit about cars, I figured it could be the compressor, clutch, condenser, or freon. I stopped by an auto parts store to recharge the freon and discovered it was already full - so no leak, and likely not the condenser. That pointed to a compressor or clutch issue. I called Wilson and spoke with Jason, the shop manager. I explained what I'd already checked and asked for rough pricing: compressor, clutch, and what a full replacement scenario would cost. He broke it down and said worst case - if everything needed replacing - it would run around $1,700, but that was unlikely since I had freon. Sounded reasonable, so I told him I'd drop it off the following Monday morning. He confirmed that was fine. At 8am Monday, as I'm getting ready to head out, I get one of those automated texts: "Just a reminder, your appointment is tomorrow at 10am." Confused, I called and spoke to a girl who said, "Oh, I just have to enter something and it automatically sends that - don't worry about it." That made no sense - why send a reminder with the wrong date? Still, I dropped the car off a little after 8am. Less than three hours later, while driving back from Raleigh, I get a call from Natalie saying my car is ready. I'm surprised, and ask what the issue was. Her only answer is, "Jason gave you a quote. That's what we did." I explain, yes, he gave a quote - but it was a list of hypothetical possibilities. A quote isn't an authorization to proceed without a diagnostic or my consent to move forward. She keeps repeating, "You agreed to the quote," and says she doesn't know anything more. She state she talked to Jason and that he is on vacation. I said great - I'd like to speak with someone who actually diagnosed or worked on my car. I asked her for the total cost, since I had her on the phone and it could point to the issue, since I had the breakdown that Jason gave me. She says, "$1,700." That's when I got irritated. That was the maximum worst-case number Jason gave me, and now they were trying to charge me that? I ask again for someone who worked on it to call me. She says she'll have the lead mechanic or Jason call. I agree, but before I can finish, she starts yelling at me, saying I agreed to the quote and that she's "just the receptionist not a mechanic" and doesn't know anything else. Then she hangs up on me. Spoiler alert: neither Jason nor the mechanic ever called - despite her saying they would within 10 minutes. About 30 minutes later, Destiny - the assistant manager - calls. She's polite, professional, and listens. I explain everything and she acknowledges there was a breakdown in communication. She confirms the real total was $1,100 and change, and the issue was the compressor and belt. I asked her directly: "If I had just accepted what Natalie told me and come in ready to pay $1,700, would anyone have caught the discrepancy?" Her answer was vague - something about too much freon. I'm not sure if she meant in the system or what Natalie was looking at, but it didn't make sense. It left me feeling like I would've been overcharged if I hadn't questioned it. When I came to pick up my car, a woman (likely Natalie) bolted to the garage as soon as I walked in. About five techs were just sitting there, watching silently while I paid Destiny. No one greeted me. It was uncomfortable like they were ready to be bodyguards, rather than be productive and work on cars or call customers with diagnostics.... That Wednesday, I drove eight hours to Tennessee. And guess what? The AC stopped working when I arrived. I sweat through the entire week. I popped the hood and found a rag left in the engine, condensation on the AC lines, and pools of fluid leaking. My mom had even pointed out the leak during our drive but I brushed it off as residual fluid from the recent service. When I returned, my husband took the car back and specifically asked that Jason call him after the diagnostic. Like any shop should be doing. If that's not already standard, it needs to be. People deserve to know what's happening with their vehicle. It turned out freon was leaking from the service port. Bottom line: I will never return to Wilson Tire. The lack of communication, the attempt to charge me the worst-case number without explanation, and the dismissive, unprofessional treatment - especially from Natalie - were unacceptable. I truly believe they've gotten too comfortable with contract work where no one checks the bill. But when it's my money? You better believe I will.
