Terrible experience; Multiple Trips. I attempted buying a bike from this dealership about a year ago; but they refused to sell me one because they did not believe I could afford it; and wrote me completely off after just a few trips to their store. I took my business to the Ray Price Triumph dealership in Raleigh where I was treated delightfully with mutual respect; and purchased the same bike just weeks later that I had tried to purchase from Select. I did not mind paying $3,000 more than I was to pay at Select; simply because I enjoyed the fantastic customer service and genuine care. I believe It pays to be nice to people; and I don't mind freely giving my money in the direction of people who provide excellent customer service and make you feel special. Good job Ray Price! I later brought the new bike in for service where they did a good job. However, months later my bike was in an accident caused by another person and I took it to their shop out of convenience to my location. After the insurance adjuster came out and declared it a total loss I could not get my bike back from Select. They held the bike ransom and would refuse to release it though I was the owner. They even said they were going to charge $3500 in storage fees because the bike sat there when it could have easily sat at my house in my garage for the months it took insurance. I even spoke with Ryan in person. At that moment he had the chance to make things right and release the bike. And he knew about my prior bad experience at his dealership. Yet they still refused. I am very disappointed in the way I have been treated MULTIPLE times; and will never do business with this shop again. I warn those who visit, to do so with caution. I would recommend Ray Price in Raleigh or a Dealership in Charlotte. I am not one to leave bad reviews. And don't normally complain. In fact, all of my other reviews are 5 stars. But this was horrendous. And to think I was treated like this on a $17,000 purchase... its just bad Business practice. read more

I've has service by them/never bought a bike there. They are cordial, unhurried and, to boot, the service is incredibly good. Routinely the mechanic and the Service Manager talk to me about the service both when I bring it in and when I pick it up. TL;DR - Buyer Beware at Select Cycle, even their written offers may not be honored. Jen and Ryan at Select Cycle negotiated a deal with me for a 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster on Friday, and then refused to honor their WRITTEN OFFER (which I still have a copy of) the very next day when the owner John decided he didn't like the deal. Do not bother to negotiate with anyone at Select Cycle except the owner, John. Apparently NO ONE ELSE there has the ability to finally approval a deal. Not Ryan, not Jen. Just FYI - i'm a well-qualified buyer, and experienced rider. I had cash in hand for a down payment, if necessary. I qualified for Triumph's 0% financing offer. I've owned 3 motorcycles before, and was 100% serious about buying a Triumph that day. When my wife and I spoke with John in person he told us a "mistake" had been made with the numbers; that he didn't understand everything about the situation, but that he wouldn't do the right thing and honor the deal. Apparently he understood just enough to refuse to honor the offer. Also, if the owner really doesn't understand what's happening in his own shop, do you really want to do business there? I can't help but wonder if the whole ordeal wasn't some sort of underhanded negotiating tactic, and if they've pulled this garbage with anyone else. read more

I had a great buying experience here due to Craig who was knowledgeable, courteous and attentive to all my questions; This would have been five star rating until I tried to make my first service appointment on my new Royal Enfield for its first 500 mile service. After calling to schedule a service I was told they couldn't fit me in for like three or four weeks. And I was also told that I could not wait while they serviced it and would have to leave it overnight due to it being too hot to work on. I'm from out of town I have no way to do that and it's just ridiculous that I can buy a bike there and can't get it serviced. I would be more than willing to bring it in 1 or2 hours early to cool down. If I waited the two or three weeks, I'll have well over 1000 miles on it and I don't want to be running it like that with its original oil. If I can find another dealer, I will bring it there but RE dealers are not that common so may end up having to do this service myself which involves removing the gas tank the valve cover to get to the valves, and I really didn't want to get into that. So, with this inability to get serviced I reduced their rating to two stars. When I bought the motorcycle, I introduced myself to the manager telling him this is my new motorcycle shop. But well now I guess it's not. I will try to find it dealer that even if I have to travel far to get to it that will actually service my needs. No pun intended. read more

My first time at Select (purchased bike at another dealer), but Ryan and the whole team treated me like a valued long time customer. As well I saw the same courtesy extended to everyone who walked through the doors while I was there. Craig invited me to observe as much of the servicing (300-mile oil service and valve check) as I cared to and encouraged me to ask questions. Once they learned I was returning to motorcycles after 25+ years, they shared tips and maintenance suggestions, never once pressuring me into gear or products. I wait when my bike is being serviced and the atmosphere is casual, and they have a wait comfortable wait area. During my recent service, I needed tires and their price was very fair. Prices I checked on accessory parts are competitive. They also re-tuned ECU and the bike runs much smoother. read more

Very deceptive sales department. I inquired about a bike, after a relatively slow response we began negotiating. We agreed on a price, and they did not ask for a deposit which surprised me. I have bought many motorcycles over the years and expected to give a credit card for deposit but this was not requested so I did not offer. Meanwhile I secured a truck for pick up and even went ahead and ordered some accessories online. I then contacted to work out the details pick up, since the sales persons specifically asked when I wanted to pick up. At which time I was told it was sold. It is clear that they were working multiple buyers for the best offer simultaneously. This is what gives sales a bad name. I would never do business with this company and will advise all I know to do the same. I had to then cancel pick up and will need to return the items I had purchased. Reputation is apparently not as valuable as a few dollars to this dealer. read more

My wife took in a Yamaha Vino with less than 1000 miles on it - it had set all winter and the fuel system needed cleaning out.It ran fine but wouldn't take gas properly. They supposedly had completed this "repair" and took it for a test drive when it "blew up". It had never been worked on by anyone but them and had been purchased new. Called other scooter mechanics and they said it sounds fishy at best. Not only would they not put the bike back in running order, but they charged my wife full price for their supposed "repair"! Never been worked on before, less than 1k miles, ran when we took it to them and just "happened" to blow up after they worked on it. Can you spell "mechanic error"???!! Now she has to pay to pick up a bike that they blew up. I would like to have the manager alone in the ring for 5 minutes, but I guess I'll have to settle for a BBB complaint and a lawsuit in small claims court. They could have done the right thing but didn't. By the time I am done with them they will wish that they had. Hey ScooterNerds - you SUCK! read more
