Buyer be aware! They DO NOT STAND behind their products! I bought a 2026 Coleman light from this place and the heater didn't work. Took it back and they said it was the mother board and they had to order it. Waited for a call back, finally about a month later I had to reach back out to them to see what was going on. Took the camper back in to get fixed. Thought everything was good, trusted that they fixed the issue. I have a medical condition which makes it's paramount that I have heat. Well come to find out in the mountains of Tennessee the heater didn't work. It was 65 degrees with the heater on with only the fan running and the pilot light turning off and on. Sent them an email about the issue again. This is the third time! The tech guy calls and said maybe it's the lines from the propane, dude the heater hasn't worked from day one nothing is clogged up. They like to blame everything but themselves for selling a lemon. I asked either to overhaul the heater in my brand new camper or replace it. And still nothing. These people are pathetic. I spent almost $40,000 on a broken camper that was supposedly brand new and a 2026. Do not buy from the people! I'm still waiting for a call back, I'm not holding my breath. GO BUY A CAMPER SOMEWHERE ELSE! They couldn't care less about you. read more

Bec and Erek have listened closely to my issues, taken them very seriously no matter how silly I sounded, and have provided the solutions. Bec has been a great communicator with status updates and genuine concern for my anxiousness during the repair process. We drove 7 hours for a camper in Calera, Alabama. We were told we had an 11:00 am appointment. Each salesman told us to give them 10 to 15 minutes and they would get us started, which never transpired. At 1:00 we were finally told they were having "difficulties " with our camper when they were preparing it for our walkthrough When we questioned what difficulties, we were given 2 different stories about what exactly the issue was. After sitting for hours and hours we finally were taken back at 4:00 pm to sign paperwork, only to find out the price negotiated on signed contract was NOT the price on the financing paperwork. An additional almost $6000 more has been added in. When questioned, the sales manager claimed it was financing fees from the lender. This amount was NEVER disclosed prior to making an almost 7 hour drive. Our experience was so bad another couple who were about to purchase a $120,000 motorhome with $20,000 down walked away from their deal. They said they would never do business with this Camping World and more than likely no Camping World anywhere. The sales manager Trey was rude and arrogant. He spoke to us as if we were children. He told us "this is how it is, take it or leave it." He has no business dealing with any customers not being in charge of a dealership. His behavior was not in an office with closed doors but on the sales floor where other customers could see and hear how rude he was. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe Trey! If I could give a negative review I would! Run don't walk away from Camping World in Calera, Alabama! If this is how Camping World conducts business, don't waste your time! Management runs credit when asked to hold application. Picked a Camper and husband went to start paper work while I was with my ailing father. When he gets there and starts filling out paperwork he found out that we couldn't get the camper we had put a deposit on. He had filled out his application before this happened. They tried to flip us to another camper and he told them to hold the application until I could come look. 24 hours later we get a notification his credit had been pulled. My husband and I recently purchased a travel trailer after shopping online for several weeks. We are camping beginners and had a lot of questions, as well as models that we wanted to see in person. Devonte was so patient and took his time with us. He didn't rush showing us every single one we requested. We also took our two boys who are 6 and 12, as this was to be a family memory. It also came a huge storm which put a kink in our shopping. However, the GM Jonathan, was firing up the grill serving fresh grilled chicken sandwiches, chips and drinks. Cornhole was going and before we knew it, the storm had passed and we were back to finding the perfect camper. Devonte diligently listened to our needs and wants, worked with our budget and got us a deal before we left that day. The service department was excellent and quick to have my vehicle ready to pull our new camper just in time for 4th of July! Our experience was superb. I was hesitate after reading reviews. However, as an office manager I understand customer service, managing negative feedback, and the opportunity businesses deserve to make improvements. We had a terrible experience in purchasing our RV here. We negotiated the price, financing etc online, text and email. We waited a week to schedule an early appointment so that we could get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. It's a 7 hour round trip drive so we wanted to get back home before dark to park and unhook our new RV. We have had lots of motor homes but never a fifth wheel. To make a long story short we waited over 4 hours to get in with finance. Once in, it took less than 20 minutes. No idea why they made us sit out front for over 4 hours . We went on our first trip and discovered the toilet had a foul urine scent even after flushing it at the campsite. Upon returning to CW for repairs on this new camper CW service dept, we were told to leave it and we could pick it up in a week or so. After three weeks, said it was ready. They charged us $185 to flush the system again, even though it had been thoroughly flushed. Nothing was done for the toilet. Nothing was done about possible condensation. The only thing done was replaced the microwave. The service rep, Jamie, was cocky and rude and totally not interested in helping our problem. We are very disturbed by the charge on the flush as we just purchased the camper three weeks previously. Will not purchase or recommend Camping World in Calera. read more

We dropped our Arctic Fox Travel Trailer off at their location February 13, 2021 for winterization and minor services. We also asked them to wash it. They called us May 7, 2021 to tell us that they cannot get parts and to come pick it up. $600 later for nothing but a walk through and not even a wash. Never going back. read more

We tried to purchase a motor home but the price kept changing based on how much we financed. Could not even get a price for cash or less than 25% financed. They seem more interested in getting a kickback from the banks than selling a camper. Be careful as they try to force you to finance more for higher kickbacks. Not even sure this is legal.We even made an offer at their quoted price with 25% financed but they would not accept it without financing 85% at an unknown interest rate. My review addresses service only. Pulled into CW early one morning with a burned up TT a/c. Layne took care of us right away. He made sure we were comfortable while we waited. Replacement of the a/c unit was made the same day, he even let us spend the night with full hook ups to make sure the a/c was working as it should. While our salesman tried his best (he was super new) the finance team, the managerial team were so awful there are not appropriate words to describe them. Lost documents, ridiculous delays, someone else's contract sent to me (that included ALL information for the other party and their purchase) . When issues were brought up- they were either ignored, dismissed or apologized for without remorse. They sell extended warranties through Good Sam but Good Sam has no control over Camping World service methods. They do not returns calls. They do not document customer issues or request. Our motorhome has has been on their lot since June and still not repaired. We actually made an appointment and it still has not been repaired. In May of this year we purchased a Keystone Montana 20th Anniversary Edition 5th Wheel. Everyone was pleasant and we got a very good deal. At the time we noticed some areas in the camper that needed to be fixed 1. A leaking hydrolytic jack 2. Back rear light not working 3. Back up mirror was damaged WE left it there 3 weeks , went back to pick it up, had to wait 2 hours (this was a scheduled pick-up) and all that had been done was it was washed. They did replace the light while we were getting instructions, after my husband noticed it had not been replaced. We went round about with them but finally got the mirror mailed to us, after 8 weeks, We went on the first trip over Labor Day weekend, and low and behold. 1. The icemaker was not connected correctly. 2. The jack had not been repaired or replaced, still leaking 3. We lost all running lights 4. The love seat arm was leaning and the seat is not straight 5. Bedroom thermostat was not working 6. Water pump not working 7. On the way back to camping world the bedroom door fell off. Back to Camping World we went, using emergency flashers. It was there 3 more weeks. They fixed the lights, the bedroom door and fixed the icemaker issue, or so we thought. We just got back from a trip, guess what? 1. Icemaker is not getting water to make ice 2. Front door did not seal and jarred open going down the road. 3. I get a call from the service manager, in October, the thermostat and jack are in, after about 6 weeks In today's world things can be over-nighted, what is the problem? We were told they had to go through warranty- well heck, it is a brand new camper, it better be under warranty. When I ask about my love seat recliner I was told it was a design defect and was not under warranty. That is absurd!! If you bought a new car and the seat was messed up would you not want a new one? Of course you would insist on it. The one is the store did not have the design defect they were saying mine did; why not just replace the loveseat with one in the store? Why don't they keep parts in the shop? This is very frustrating and completely unsatisfactory. If you wrecked your car you could get it fixed in a week, why not a camper? I would appreciate any help I can get to get my camper fixed, or replaced in a timely manner, so I can enjoy going camping. The sad thing about it all, we bought this camper to enjoy, not work on it. If the service department would have serviced it to begin with, making sure everything was working, most of this could have been avoided; instead you have a very upset customer. I want it fixed or replaced with another just like it that things actually WORK! Oh the heat does not work either! What a LEMON!! This is my opinion that was influenced by my own personal experience. We were manipulated into purchasing a new trailer unit in April 2023 at Camping World in Calera. The unit, although new, had multiple imperfections however, the salesman assured me that I could bring it back and have it repaired at zero cost. I also received emails stating there were a couple recalls that needed to be handled to keep the warranty. I dropped the unit off on November 3rd and received a voicemail on December 13th that it was ready for pick up. We drive from Tuscaloosa with expectations we would be driving home with our camper in tow. But no, we get there only to discover our camper had been flooded!!! The bathroom, kitchen and living area all soaked with standing water! We have never experienced any leaks or problems prior to this! The only explanation I can think of is someone must have left our doors open. Of course they denied this and made it seem that it was no big deal and if WE WOULD LIKE, we could leave it for a leak test. As if I would be taking it home flooded!!!! Well fast forward to today, the service manager, Joseph/Nathan Stephenson told me he was 95% sure the water came in through a leak from the slide-out due to US not blowing off the pinestraw on the roof!? We don't even have pine trees on our property but regardless how is this our fault when they have had our unit since November 3rd? I tried to take the humble approach but after Nathan made multiple rude and condescending remarks I decided the call was no longer going to be productive or beneficial so I decided to end the phone call. Also, Nathan bragged that he has had many clients attempt the "attorney" route and are unsuccessful due to how big camping world is and also because I signed a work order stating that camping world is not liable for damage on their lot (this is not true, they are liable). Pretty much he said good luck without saying good luck. Via email I asked for his supervisor's contact and all he replied back was " My supervisor here at the dealership?" After I said sure, I'll take any and all contacts he would like to share he then stated he could not give me his supervisor's contact and said i quote " Contact corporate. You will find all information needed on our website." Also, I'm sure my unit was not winterized and now who knows what will be wrong. In my opinion, this company is a scam and prides itself on hiring the most egotistical, master manipulators, never wrong, so called "men". Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere, anywhere else but HERE! Also, if you have to deal with Nathan/Joseph Stephenson, i genuinely feel for you but know you are not alone. I will never conduct business with Camping World again. I bought a new camper in 2019. I had so many problems. I had to take it in for service 6 times because the heat was not working. They also quoted me a price for some repairs (which I still believe should be covered under warranty) and then sent me a bill for twice as much as was quoted. I have never posted a review until now. I won't get my $1,772 back but maybe I can help others avoid this disastrous place. My wife and I pulled into Camping World about 3 hours before they closed with some small maintenance items. We needed a new battery, carbon monoxide detector, and a quick explanation of how our propane gas system worked. We were told the "orientation" would cost $185 and the rest would be estimated at $700. They also said some laps would be fixed on the roof. Four hours later, with no explanation or preauthorization, we're told the cost was $1,772. I knew that if I questioned the nice lady at the register, I would get a manager in front of everyone confront me about the costs so I just sucked it up and figured another lesson learned. We left with a camper that now looks like crap due to the laps redone on the roof, a battery that was replaced at a cost of $175 and $74 more for the labor, carbon monoxide detector at a cost of $249, an orientation that was so bad the guy said he didn't know how the fridge worked with gas and no way to redress the problems since the placed was now closed. I am so steamed at the way we were treated that I would seriously encourage those about to get maintenance done there to rethink their alternatives. read more

I went in with a return and they first said they had to issue a in-Store Credit, and then made excuses why not to refund their product with a Reciept in hand. After they insulted me they called the cops and said they were affriad. I'm a Medically Retired Vet who like most vets my age want to travel and camping is in my budget... but the employees at this chain store does not stand behind their 100% Customer Satisfaction guarantee. and if you say the word "hell" they cry that you scare them, and call the police. Phenomenal service. I called when my new trailer suffered a leaking roof. They were able to expedite my appointment, performed an exhaustive review of the trailer, and submitted warranty paperwork not just for the roof, but several other issues that appeared over the several months since purchase. They then patched the roof for the interim, negotiated full warranty approval in 24 hours, and expressed the trailer in for repairs 48 hours later. If this wasn't enough, they performed those fixes in 1 1/2 days. Look, we as customers expect people to bend over backwards to provide us an impeccable experience and often forget that they're people on the other end. Factor in those employees are often overworked, underpaid, and bear the brunt of our frustrations - it's a wonder anyone would take that job. That said, the staff here are top-notch and exhaustive in making sure we are taken care of and back in our homes in no time. Bottom line, I totally recommend this staff, specifically the service & parts departments as well as the repair technicians, if you want to take care of your investment in a quick and professional manner. Friendly people but unfortunately, this service facility, and perhaps all service facilities, routinely apply fraudulent charges to service bills. I made an assumption that southerners would treat me fairly and honestly, because I've met so many warm and honest people down south. I will be more careful in the future. What happened to me? I brought my camper in for refrigerator service. They did not do a thorough evaluation of the problem, and I'll expand on that later. I did not take a good look at the bill before I left. Reviewing the bill, they swapped a few parts and did not check the flue for obstructions, which was part of the manufacturers service recommendations, and did not repair anything. I read the manual so I'm somewhat familiar with the methodology to test this refrigerator. The service manual I read online recommended professional service specifically, because of special test equipment was needed. This facility did not have the test equipment, so they really do not know for certain what the problem is. They did not offer to find the part they said I needed, and said it was unavailable. I knew that was nonsense. I was able to find it. I'd have it ordered now I if I was sure that is the problem. Why could they not do this? This reinforced my belief that they were sure what the problem actually was. My guess is they would not want to order a part and pay for overnight shipping costs if it would not fix the problem. When I got the bill, I was focused on using my iPhone to try and find the part (using the part number the listed) that I needed and did not study the bill very well. I should have studied the bill more carefully before leaving the store. My main concern was getting the recommended part and keeping my food cold. I was stunned to see the bill include charges for "Freight" $20.00 and "Shop Supplies" $19.34--nearly $40 in fraudulent charges. Additionally, the description of what was done did not include using test equipment, and instead consisted of swapping parts. They did not inspect the flue for blockage--a normal part of this sort of repair. There were no parts installed, nor were any shop supplies needed. This is fraud. The manager told me this was a "mistake". Later one of there employees told me these charges are "automatically applied to all services". So they routinely charge for "Freight" and "Shop Supplies" as part of their billing software without any basis in the service performed or the nature of the service performed. No mention was made of this prior to the service. How many other people have been ripped off by this store--routinely--by mistake--every time they process a bill? They admitted to me their software adds these charges to all bills. That is systemic fraud. Two phone calls to this service center did not garner a response. I complained to the main corporate office, and was able to put pressure on them to make something happen. The local service center offered to refund the "mistaken" charges only if I returned to their facility. And later offered me a $25 gift certificate to offset my fuel cost for another trip to their store. It's fraud to apply charges automatically without regard to the actual service being done. Every "mistake" will always penalize the customer. There will never be a "mistake" that favors the customer. By building it into their billing software and let it "accidentally" slip through, they can then blame the software for the mistakes, when the whole process was designed to yield perhaps $10,000 per month additional billing. To recap: I feel they did not adequately diagnose the fault in my refrigerator, because they did not inspect my flue. I was charged for service they did not complete. I plan to inspect the flue for an obstruction myself tomorrow. After that I will take a change on ordering a new circuit board and see if it fixes my problem. The bottom line: I was so upset by the fraudulent charges, and the poor diagnostic work, I will never again do business with Campers World. When informed this charges are applied routinely, I started to feel my blood pressure go up and my chest get tight. I declined the $25 gift certificate--I won't be going back. This sort of nonsense will kill me. I declined the offer to bring my RV back again--I've wasted enough time. I don't like to being so upset. I am voting with my feet and taking my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible Experience! I have had my camper going on three months and was just able to have a camping trip this past weekend. Lots of issues with the camper and camping world did not try to make any good efforts to fix them. I ended having to pay an independent service tech to come out and fix sewage, hot water heater, and many other things that camping world would not fix on a brand new trailer. I took it back up there and they did not fix any issues and the warranties and Good Sam stuff is a complete waste of money. I got the best warranty they offered and extended, but it does absolutely nothing. I do not recommend buying a camper here. If you live in Birmingham or close by, it is worth the drive to go somewhere else.
