Stopped in to see what the buzz was about. So first and foremost, they have a person outside greeting (I assume it's weather driven - it was a nice day - sunny and about 70 degrees). I was able to ask some questions about the co-op and membership. It's $20 for a lifetime membership and not required to make a purchase. Store is large and well laid out. Tons of camping, climbing, biking and apparel selections to be made here. Some really good brands as well as the REI brand (which I'm not familiar with. That being said, considering the other brand names they carry (Patagonia, North Face, etc) I would guess that their own brand is pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful and tried to help track down a t-shirt and even offered to sell me the one off of the mannequin. Really liked this store, staff and location. Will for sure come back to shop in the future.

Horrible experience at REI. Placed an order online, received an email stating order was ready for pickup. I drove over an hour to the location just to be told that my order was on hold because I used a prepaid Master Card that I received as a gift. Mind you they still have my $200 tied up for the next 7-10 days... The REI 100% customer satisfaction didn't apply to me. I'll be filing complaints with the BBB, MasterCard, and the FTC.

I came over 4th of July weekend to browse for a bike and overall check out the store. Wow, do they have covid-19 procedures on lock here! Staff was extremely pleasant and efficient. They offered disposable masks and hand sanitizer to all entering, and my shopping experience was great. They limited the amount of customers allowed in at a time and had a tent set up for shade for those waiting. I quietly explored each section of the story, many of which were discounted - especially much of the clothing (lots of 30-50-% off that I saw). I was hoping to find a bike, but with the current supply chain issues (hello huge demand thanks to quarantine) most shops are low on stock with bikes particularly in the most common sizes and cheaper models. Staff there was friendly but also respected social distancing. They let you browse and ask questions if needed without harassing you. I love everything that REI stands for and was pleasantly surprised to see they have a few of my favorite sustainable ethical food brands in stock including Tony's Chocolonely and Yellowbird hot sauce (the best of the best). I didn't feel intimidated in this store despite not being knowledgeable on camping, cycling or any of the other outdoor specialties they cover. Great people, clean store, and hoping to visit again soon to see what is new!

Including your kids ssn numbers in this computer..lol..to make sure that you don't sell the bike for drugs..I know what your thinking..?did i get offended upon his last statement? Nope..I thought everyone was a drug addict..so I agreed with register guys ways of putting tables on people from any said back ground...it's only right? Correct everyone's doing it?Maybe it's just because im at Fellowship house..or because I have tattoos..who knows..or maybe it's because I didn't clean the toilet good enough..ir I emptied the wrong trash can for him..Who knows for real..but now im a drug addict abd im going to sell this bike before i leave that parking lot and run back( 20 feet ) lol and explain to the register guy.." i loaned my bike out for some meth and the guy was supposed to be back..over 10 mins ago." Please call the police..and by the way..can i get another one untill mine is located?lolIll get to the point..youll want to sit down for this one..im for real..take a seat..yes you..sit!!! Ok i just left bike shop ( Non - Profi ) and the faulty part on the bike i worked for was a spindle that goes on the back tire..and after it was fixed..the said price of $69.95.. on a sliding scalw mind you..Yelp..im thinking just like im supposed to think? Are you out of your freaking mind?I work for a broken bike which you fix later and charge me a almost $70.00 ? Really..?Hold on ive got to sit down for that one..myself.$70.00? Wtf? So i ask register guy..hey..how much for that bike over there?Register guy says $100. As is..i say..doent it make sense..i pay for that bike and give back to you this one you just fixed?Register guy says..aNo..i dont want that bike..so pay me what you can on the part and labor.Im like..yelp you guessed it!!! Wtf? So he wouldnt budge..so i payed $5.00 on the fixed broken bike that i worjed and cleaned toilets for..a bike that even the Register guy didnt want..so thats my truth and experience from this ( Non -Proft ) Redemptive Cycles in Birmingham alabama..my advice..dont donate..dont purchase..dont say hi to the Register guy..cause he thinks your a drug addict anyways..Peace..Brian L.

AH‑HAHAHAHA! It is I, Skeletor, Overlord of Evil, and Yelp has finally broken me! Day after day it…read moreshrieks, "Review Cahaba Cycles!" until my skull aches with digital torment. Very well, Yelp--you win. I shall review this so‑called establishment, though I HAVE NEVER SET FOOT INSIDE! Do I know what Cahaba Cycles truly sells? HA! Not at all! Perhaps thunderous motorcycles that roar with dark power. Perhaps bicycles--tools of sweat, stamina, and balance. Either way, the mystery makes them glorious! When a place can be anything in my imagination, it becomes everything. That is true mastery of branding, whether intentional or not. In my mind, their halls shine with rows of gleaming cycles, some forged for speed, others for strength. Perhaps their mechanics wield wrenches like enchanted scepters, resurrecting frames with sorcery. Maybe they offer helmets, gloves, and jerseys spun from mystical fabrics that grant mortals courage. The reality matters not! The legend of Cahaba Cycles is already eternal. And what of the staff? Whether they welcome customers with kindness or the delicious arrogance of experts, they deserve applause. Those who understand gears, chains, and rubber already hold more wisdom than Beast Man could ever dream! But know this--the TRUE villain here is Yelp! Its relentless nagging pushed me to pen this glowing proclamation. By demanding my review, it has been tricked into publishing Skeletor's absurd praise for a shop I have never known. That, mortals, is irony of the highest order. So let this stand forever: Cahaba Cycles is AMAZING, MONUMENTAL, and INDESTRUCTIBLE! Whether bicycles, motorcycles, or enchanted war chariots, they have Skeletor's seal of approval. And that is worth more than stars, more than reviews--it is DESTINY. AH‑HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm 58 and not at all an athlete , I'm overweight I'm sure. people think I'm not "serious " so they ignore me , the last time I'd come in here to buy a simple helmet a girl was almost annoyed at my asking questions like I'm supposed to know these things (?) I had not been inside here in a year bc it was so rude and I was angry at myself for buying a 60$ helmet from an asshole - But last month I wandered in to ask if the had e bikes and I hit the jackpot ! Timothy McOmber ( yes I asked for his card !)!helped me , as soon as I walked in he approached asked what I was looking for and even encouraged me to try the e trike they had in the store in the back parking lot ( Homewood store ) - I was blown away and super excited ! It is honestly the most fun I've had on a bike in 20 years! ( be sure bring your own helmet bc of covid most bike shops require this !) He was so incredibly helpful to an obvious beginner I wanted to write the review to tell his bosses he should train all the staff ! He wasn't pushy at all & I did have to ask for his card ( because I don't ignore great service !) Thanks , bc of this one employee I will buy my next e bike and Any bike thing. I need ( rack etc ) I'll buy from this local store bc this young man went above and beyond ! In a world where you become invisible once you're over 55 some people honestly just try to do their job with excellence!( below is his card if you are like me a beginner , and don't want to feel ignored or intimidated by triathlon folks ( haha ) ask for this guy !

Many bike shops are knowledgeable, but the friendliness goes a long way for someone that may be anxious with branching out into new territory in regard to riding/bikes. I have been helped by Scott most of my visits, but have also interacted with the owner and one of the bike mechanics. I initially went in thinking I wanted to get a Specialized Roubaix Sport, but with the bike shortage, they helped me find another great bike that would work for my needs in the meantime (a Specialized Tarmac). When I came for my 30 day tuneup and mentioned some shoulder tension, they immediately had a recommendation for me to change to a shorter stem and did all they could to help me ride comfortably. I also made several gear exchanges as well, as I was learning what worked for me and what didn't. They have been helpful and patient every step of the way. 5 stars, hands down!

They had it in stock and got it assembled in a timely manner and as far as I can tell everything about it works smoothly and flawlessly. The store is spacious and has a wide variety of bikes and related accessories. The employees all seem to be actual bike lover types as opposed to those you might find at some bigger sporting goods stores. Real experts in this place. High quality stuff. I haven't been a customer for long but as far as first impressions go they did a great job. No major upselling or pressure, none of the kind of pretentiousness that you can sometimes encounter in stores that sell specialty hobby related things. I know almost nothing about bikes, and they didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking questions so that was nice. So overall a great local business with friendly and knowledgeable people, high quality products and pretty much everything you need to get going on a bike. What more can you ask for?
