Kathryn D giving trample instructions

Redemptive Cycles organizes group bike rides around the city that they call Trample. The rides are on Thursdays and start at 6:30. I rode this past Thursday, and I had a great time. The trample is not a race, and doesn't look like the Tour de France. It is a leisurely, social ride that I felt very comfortable with. I love to bike, but I am not a serious biking enthusiast. I ride a mountain bike, and don't own a tight fitting bike jersey and outfit (nothing against them, just not sure I could pull it off). The route was flat, and very enjoyable. We rode approximately 10 miles, and it took about an hour and a half. The ride organizers manage the traffic. They ride ahead and block traffic so that the group can stay together. I estimated there were at least 100 riders on this night. But, I was told it was larger than normal because Corporate Challenge teams were participating. I loved seeing different parts of the city from my bike. We rode west of I-65. We made a loop that went by Parker high school, Legion Field, Bookwood-Princeton hospital, and Edgewood cemetery. I recommend the trample ride, and the Redemptive Cycles shop. I definitely will be back.

I've purchased two bicycles through this Cycle shop and today I purchased my third! The associate Ben was a massive help with setting myself up for a new bicycle. The previous two bicycle's I bought are now back at their shop looking for new owners! It's a treat to browse over their inventory while an associate does the proper walk through of the bicycle up for purchase. A very thorough group of individuals!! It is a great feeling to be a customer that is valued by the supplier. A wonderful company overall.

Good folks doing good work with bikes. I donated a couple of my old bikes and accessories to them and I feel good knowing that they will help people who really need it. If I need a bike I will go see them first.

AH‑HAHAHAHA! It is I, Skeletor, Overlord of Evil, and Yelp has finally broken me! Day after day it…read moreshrieks, "Review Cahaba Cycles!" until my skull aches with digital torment. Very well, Yelp--you win. I shall review this so‑called establishment, though I HAVE NEVER SET FOOT INSIDE! Do I know what Cahaba Cycles truly sells? HA! Not at all! Perhaps thunderous motorcycles that roar with dark power. Perhaps bicycles--tools of sweat, stamina, and balance. Either way, the mystery makes them glorious! When a place can be anything in my imagination, it becomes everything. That is true mastery of branding, whether intentional or not. In my mind, their halls shine with rows of gleaming cycles, some forged for speed, others for strength. Perhaps their mechanics wield wrenches like enchanted scepters, resurrecting frames with sorcery. Maybe they offer helmets, gloves, and jerseys spun from mystical fabrics that grant mortals courage. The reality matters not! The legend of Cahaba Cycles is already eternal. And what of the staff? Whether they welcome customers with kindness or the delicious arrogance of experts, they deserve applause. Those who understand gears, chains, and rubber already hold more wisdom than Beast Man could ever dream! But know this--the TRUE villain here is Yelp! Its relentless nagging pushed me to pen this glowing proclamation. By demanding my review, it has been tricked into publishing Skeletor's absurd praise for a shop I have never known. That, mortals, is irony of the highest order. So let this stand forever: Cahaba Cycles is AMAZING, MONUMENTAL, and INDESTRUCTIBLE! Whether bicycles, motorcycles, or enchanted war chariots, they have Skeletor's seal of approval. And that is worth more than stars, more than reviews--it is DESTINY. AH‑HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I wrote this review purposefully to compliment one stand out employee! ( & no I don't know him at…read moreall! ) I recently decided to buy an electric bike , I walked in and usually I'm ignored in these places ( meaning the run bike swim crowd !) I'm 58 and not at all an athlete , I'm overweight I'm sure. people think I'm not "serious " so they ignore me , the last time I'd come in here to buy a simple helmet a girl was almost annoyed at my asking questions like I'm supposed to know these things (?) I had not been inside here in a year bc it was so rude and I was angry at myself for buying a 60$ helmet from an asshole - But last month I wandered in to ask if the had e bikes and I hit the jackpot ! Timothy McOmber ( yes I asked for his card !)!helped me , as soon as I walked in he approached asked what I was looking for and even encouraged me to try the e trike they had in the store in the back parking lot ( Homewood store ) - I was blown away and super excited ! It is honestly the most fun I've had on a bike in 20 years! ( be sure bring your own helmet bc of covid most bike shops require this !) He was so incredibly helpful to an obvious beginner I wanted to write the review to tell his bosses he should train all the staff ! He wasn't pushy at all & I did have to ask for his card ( because I don't ignore great service !) Thanks , bc of this one employee I will buy my next e bike and Any bike thing. I need ( rack etc ) I'll buy from this local store bc this young man went above and beyond ! In a world where you become invisible once you're over 55 some people honestly just try to do their job with excellence!( below is his card if you are like me a beginner , and don't want to feel ignored or intimidated by triathlon folks ( haha ) ask for this guy !

Many bike shops are knowledgeable, but the friendliness goes a long way for someone that may be anxious with branching out into new territory in regard to riding/bikes. I have been helped by Scott most of my visits, but have also interacted with the owner and one of the bike mechanics. I initially went in thinking I wanted to get a Specialized Roubaix Sport, but with the bike shortage, they helped me find another great bike that would work for my needs in the meantime (a Specialized Tarmac). When I came for my 30 day tuneup and mentioned some shoulder tension, they immediately had a recommendation for me to change to a shorter stem and did all they could to help me ride comfortably. I also made several gear exchanges as well, as I was learning what worked for me and what didn't. They have been helpful and patient every step of the way. 5 stars, hands down!

I really appreciated the knowledgeable resource he provided during my visit. This was my first time at this location. They have a lot of cool bikes, helmets and other cycle accessories. So I went to Cahaba Cycles and they had a good selection of seemingly nice ones and without any trouble at all I got sized up and directed toward exactly the one I was checking out initially online. They had it in stock and got it assembled in a timely manner and as far as I can tell everything about it works smoothly and flawlessly. The store is spacious and has a wide variety of bikes and related accessories. The employees all seem to be actual bike lover types as opposed to those you might find at some bigger sporting goods stores. Real experts in this place. High quality stuff. I haven't been a customer for long but as far as first impressions go they did a great job. No major upselling or pressure, none of the kind of pretentiousness that you can sometimes encounter in stores that sell specialty hobby related things. I know almost nothing about bikes, and they didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking questions so that was nice. So overall a great local business with friendly and knowledgeable people, high quality products and pretty much everything you need to get going on a bike. What more can you ask for?
