    Chocolate truffles y cheesecake

Stumbled upon Campanilla because it was close to our hotel. Can't say enough great things about it. The owner PePe, was more than hospitable. He gave us a tour of the menu and guided us to what we should eat since we are visiting and unsure. His recommendations didn't disappoint! Every dish had a home made feel and so much flavor. For starters PePe gave us a complimentary paella- which was very tasty and mixed with a good variety of seafood. Then we had the Spanish omelet with meatballs with green peppers- amazing! Last, PePe recommended cheesecake for a dessert. With it he brought complimentary truffles. I only wish i could have tried more. PePe made the experience!

Such a great experience. I am from Louisville, KY - the food was great. Great wine. Very authentic! Would absolutely go back.

My family and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before going to sleep for our flight back to New Jersey. We came to Campanilla and were amazed. Out of all the restaurants I've been to in Madrid and Sevilla, this place had the most authentic and delicious food. The real treat was the customer service. Pepe the owner was an amazing host . The food was impeccable. He gave us some free plates of food to try on the house as well. With the food and hospitality this place is a hidden gem. Pepe is 100% a genuine person who just wants people to have an amazing experience. I honestly won't forget Campanilla and whenever I come back, I'll be sure to visit my friend Pepe , I hope he remembers me.

Close to the airport or staying in a nearby hotel? You must treat yourself and have dinner here. Lots of locals celebrating the festival of Our Senora Soledad. Pepe, your host, will guide you through the options, if you will only allow him to do so. After a couple of complimentary tapas, he steered us to the Iberian ham, the baby squid (yummy) and the kebab (wonderfully marinated) plus the garlic potatoes with mayonnaise (best ever?). Just the right amount, too. Sit outside for a lovely evening. Very friendly service; and, he wants to practice his English, which already pretty good--better than my Spanish. Wish it weren't our last night in Madrid, or we be back again!

    Pepe is a wonderful host!

This was our last night in Spain. We needed a meal within walking distance from the airport hotel. We did not expect to have the most memorable of our entire trek from Valença Portugal to Santiago de Compostela or to surpass the amazing food in Madrid. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is charming and Pepe is adorable. He's kind, knowledgeable, generous and if he's not taken my bff wants to marry him. The menu is pretty extensive, try anything he suggests, you won't be disappointed.

    Small appetizer on the house

Read the positive reviews on this site and a couple of others, so I decided to give it a try while in town for business. Pepe, who I believe is the owner, warmly greeted me and correctly assumed that I needed the English menu. Before I even ordered, he served me a small appetizer of potato salad on a slice of bread. Pepe spoke some English, but I had no problem communicating with him. I counted off 4 tapas dishes I wanted to order, but he actually stopped me from ordering way too much. Therefore, I ordered the fried calamari and chorizo tapas, and they were excellent! The calamari rings were huge but oh so tender. Pepe recommended I eat the calamari with an aioli sauce with some bread, almost like a sandwich. Delicious, esp since the aioli was nice and garlicky. The chorizo was tasty if a bit oily, but not surprised since it is a sausage. For dessert I ordered the homemade flan that came with 3 piles of whipped cream. It was drizzled with caramel sauce and was great. I may have liked it a bit denser but was very happy with it. He also served a couple of chocolate ice cream truffles covered with chocolate sprinkles. Bonus! It was a great experience for this out of town visitor. A nice family run restaurant that made me feel like part of the family!

As others have said, Pepe is the man!! We stayed at a nearby hotel because of an early outgoing flight the next day. I quickly looked on Yelp for some food suggestions and decided on Campanillas. Upon sitting down Pepe introduced himself and made some recommendations, but first was the homemade sangria. He brought all of the ingredients tableside and proceeded to teach us his sangria recipe. Moments later we were drinking delicious sangria from frosted mugs. Thereafter came the parade of homemade tapas - ham/cheese on bread - paella - potato salad with tuna, olives, and vegetables. We also ordered a "typical" Spanish dish consisting of omelette, fried pepper, and meatballs. The dish was homemade and simply delicious. For my entree I ordered lamb chops, which came with a red pepper salad, and fries. I almost forgot dessert, which was flan with whipped cream and caramel sauce. The entire experience from the hospitality to the food was delightful. I left more than full and it was a perfect last meal in Madrid. I would absolutely recommend Campanillas if you're in the area. Thank you!!

Friendly establishment, warm and welcoming, in the Barajas neighborhood. Delicious home cooked foods and the owner has great suggestions for what to eat! The restaurant is near the airport where I was staying overnight for a layover, perfect place to get some local cuisine without having to go into the city. Ordered the meatball in a tomato sauce, Spanish omelette, and grilled pepper. Everything was tasty! As a foreign visitor, they treated me to some complimentary appetizers and dessert, also gifted a free keychain to remember Madrid!

What a wonderful meal before our early flight home. Pepe could not be a more gracious host. He greeted us warmly and seated us right away. His family has had the restaurant for many years and we felt so welcome. We had a delicious assortment of foods. The salad with goat cheese, meatballs, tortilla and roasted peppers were delicious and homemade. The beer and wine were refreshing and the final homemade ice cream and Spanish liquor were the grand finale to a wonderful meal. Thank you Pepe for the thoughtful gifts and loving attention. You must find this restaurant when you are near the airport.

Dinner at Campanilla was my favorite kind of experience in a foreign land. Truly an immersion into the local flavor as we were the only tourists in the place. We were well taken care of by Pepe who seemed ecstatic that we were willing to try anything and everything. The mixed seafood platter and meatballs were delicious! Pepe was beyond adorable and gifted us with fans and a Madrid keychain, which made us feel very special. A true highlight of our week in this magical city!

    Veal fillet

The owner is so genuine and sweet. My mom wasn't feeling well after so many Spanish meals so we asked for vegetables with less oil and he kindly suggested artichokes with a little ham which hit the spot. The vinegar in the dish helped settle the stomach. He also recommended the veal fillet to me and offered a salad option instead of fries so I could have a healthier option. During and after the meal, he asked how we were doing and made sure everything was ok, including checking on my mom. I so appreciated his caring and customizing the menu options for us! To top it off, the veal was under 7 euros!

They also brought hot stones out that you could continue to cook your steak on. I can imagine this is traditional, but it was our first experience with this and we really enjoyed it. Everything as quite fresh and the service was better than other restaurants in Madrid. I ordered the cod in tomato sauce. The sauce was on the sweeter side, but very very good nonetheless. It was a hearty portion and I only finished about half of it. We loved this meal and this experience. Highly recommend

First of all the place is stunning, old school Spanish decor but beautiful nonetheless. I wasn't really hungry but the pictures on google looked too good to pass up. Upon sitting down I was presented with a few plates of tapas, some almonds, potato chips and sausages. Of course it's a steakhouse but I went for the tuna loin with plum sauce. Divine. It also came with a large plate of fries. At the end of the meal I was given a bottle of Pedro Ximenez and some Toblerone. Would actually come back to Madrid just for that meal. Loved the service as well, I couldn't even pour myself a glass of water without someone rushing over to handle it for me. Really impeccable from start to finish.

Although we were ushered to the corner of an empty dining room, I could tell the diner's atmosphere was sophisticated but laid-back. Our server was pleasant, patient, and eager to flex his English skills. To whet our appetites, we began with an off-menu salad (waiter recommended) that came with a lump of mouth-watering smoked goat cheese and a some type of crunchy worm-like fish. Looked a little strange, but tasted quite good. We then moved on to shrimp, chicken, and beef croquettes (little fritters), which were playfully arranged on the branches of a miniature tree constructed from coiled wire. The outsides were thin and crispy, with gooey centers infused with notes of rosemary. For our main courses, we ordered two paella platters: one Mixta and one Negra. Now that's more like it. THIS-- generous helpings of colorful cooked rice bursting with meaty toppings and rich flavors-- is exactly how I envisioned the renowned Spanish staple. The Paella Mixta was buttery and smooth, with a combination of shrimp and chicken. The rice was actually the best part and paired nicely with the lemon. The star of the meal, however, was the Paella Negra, white rice doused with squid ink and cooked in a seafood broth with assorted sea critters. As a rabid seafood-lover, this pitch-black preparation blew me away with its savory taste and perfectly cooked calamari and shell-on prawns. This place has gotten mixed reviews elsewhere on the internet, but I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Dare I say it might have been the best or second best meal we had during our stay in Spain!
