There are Indoor, family and handicap-friendly bathrooms right off the parking lot. We started with the awesome playground. I think it's great for kids between 2- to 7-years old. Older kids may not find it as exciting. There is a special Toddler area with two play Barnes, a music-making area and two toddler swings. I would love if they added extra toddler swings. Yall know how hard it is to get a toddler to take turns, so the line was a little long. This playground also has 4 big kid swings and a handicap-friendly swing. If you follow the trail past the tennis courts, there is another play area with a super-cool climbing theme. It has an actual climbing wall and a climbing structure with a curvy slide. My 3 year old was able to navigate it with a little coaching. We wrapped up the visit with a walk around the trail. It is mostly paved with some gravel areas. We had no problem pushing the kids' wagon around. They added several nice benches throughout the park. They also added location signs for safety. The picturesque bridges would be great for photos. Extra note, you can play Frisbee golf throughout the park, just follow the trail. They have two picnic shelters, one large and one small. There is also a lot of clear, open space. They did a great job with the renovation and we can't wait to go back.

The kiddos got to meet their 3rd cousins 1x removed (can you tell I love ancestry research? Lol); you don't get a meetup like this every day. They absolutely had a blast at Frank Liske Park together. We visited the two playgrounds and mini golf area. I also saw the lake where you can rent paddle boats. There were 2 separate parties going on on either side of the venue & events building. Mini golf was fun for the kids (unfortunately I had to keep chasing my toddler off the greens and couldn't play myself). The restroom near the mini golf course seriously smelled new and clean. Never ever had the pleasure to experience this about a park restroom. I'm really impressed. The concession stand has refreshing treats for a refreshing price. I seriously love this park and want to go back asap! If I was a Concord resident I'd probably visit this park a few times a month. Happy yelping!

My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!

Kinda finding itself sandwiched between office buildings, I can see this place being a great "get away from work" lunch escape. One of the cooler features about the green, at least to me was their many mile markers that show arrows pointing to (insert city), with the approximate number of miles to get there and in what direction you can go. These little posts are littered all over the park and are impossible to ignore. There are several statues like the three large fish that kids seemed to love and the book statues as well. It's just a really nice place to find yourself on a warm and dry day. Natural shade from all of the trees, there's a large amount of landscaping around for sitting, or you can just have a seat on the well manicured grass. Not the largest park, but it is a little squirt of outdoor happiness between business as usual. There are no restrooms here, but there are trash cans about for that time when you'd like to have a snack in the shade and need to toss your food wrappers. I had no expectations for this park, and truly didn't know it existed, but because it hit the spot AND was such a nice break from all of the downtown-ness, it's easily 5 stars for me. Would I plan an entire trip to charlotte around it? Nah...it's not that kind of park. But while you're there, you will enjoy it no doubt!

There are multiple trails available within the park, some that loop around back to the start, and some that cross over the main road within the park putting you on connected trails on the other side.
