The park is open for business though some features are roped off because of the pandemic. This lovely and well kept park has a baseball field, bike trail, playground and soccer field. The baseball area has a structure with bathrooms and concessions for when there are big games going. The walking loop is lovely though not particularly shady today. A bunch of folks were on one of the soccer fields doing something that could have been crossfit. Definitely not keeping their social distance today. Playground is suitable more for older children, but our toddler still enjoyed herself as well. If you can overlook the surrounding houses with their shoddy appearances, the playground itself appeared clean but small.

Closed for the winter but looking absolutely awesome. Plenty of parking and a great view of the entire park area. It's an interesting neighborhood. It includes a few tables that are perfect for a chess match or a picnic, some benches, and a gravel path from the street to the brick half-circle that points out the wars and battles and conflicts of those who have served our country. Behind is the Stanly County Confederate Memorial, which I suppose is as good a spot for it as any. There is limited street parking directly in front and more parking nearby. Accessible by sidewalks for those that live in…read moretown, or parking lot spots for those who need to drive, this park is a good mix of activities for people of all ages. The new play equipment is geared toward the smallest children, but the main equipment is for ages 5-12. The play equipment is not in the shade, so be careful on the very sunny days. There are multiple picnic shelters that can be reserved in advance for birthday parties, family reunions, or church get togethers. There is a small fenced in dog park, and paved walking paths through the woods. The sign near the parking lot tells you the distances of the different loops. You can tell that the town is really trying to provide a safe, accessible space for people to exercise through this park. I've taken my family a few times, and we have enjoyed our walks and times in the playground.

The main trail is a mile long and circles through the trees and around the lake on the other side. Its a very nice walk. You will pass families enjoying the picnic areas and grills, lots of families on the trails with their little ones on bikes, and fishing. Everyone you pass is normally pretty friendly with hellos and encouraging words as you pass each other. There is also a large trail that branches off from this trail. I see a lot of cross country runner teams and they have a lot of matches there. But you can still enjoy the trails during matches. There is also a Baseball Field and a large field for activities such as soccer. Times vary depending on the time of year but I highly recommend this park.

Today, it is the symbolic center of the county that houses the town clock that once hung from the Cabarrus Bank building at the intersection of First and Main Streets.
