The staff here are so friendly and they truly have a heart to serve; from cleaning, preparing awesome meals three times a day, to maintaining the facilities, these people know how it's done. There are plenty of beds and rooms here for big groups or churches and endless amount of things to do on site such as basketball (these have an outdoor court), soccer/frisbee (they have a huge field out front), volleyball (outdoor court), nature trails, bonfires (love them fire pits!), swimming/kayaking (THE LAKE IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Definitely need to check it out!!) and more! So you can see there will never be a dull moment when you're there, but if you want time to unwind and just relax then there are plenty of places there you can go to do just that :)

The facilities are always clean and well-maintained. The employees are just great people and always quick to serve. I love the nearby lake, where you can kayak and canoe. They also have an area roped off for swimming with a floating dock and a floating mat. They have a great bonfire pit outside of the main building with chairs. They've been working on a prayer garden for awhile, with some impressive stonework and landscaping. It's cool that much of it has been done thanks to volunteers. I'm excited to see it when it's finally complete! I have special dietary needs, and the kitchen is always good in accommodating for that. The conferences are always reasonably priced. A couple of weeks ago, they even let my chapter have a free three-day conference in exchange for a day of work on the prayer garden. Toah Nipi's definitely one of my favorite places with some great memories.

Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior. We loved this legendary performance at a legendary restaurant!

Last week my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony at Hidden Hills…read more We had eloped when we were married six years ago and finally wanted to have the wedding we had put off. For the past year we had been planning and Mark took the time to walk us through everything from start to finish. He was more than accommodating, even with my frantic phone calls as the day drew near changing things up. We had initially picked Hidden Hills because we fell in love with the courtyard area. We held our ceremony at the gazebo and had the reception at the pavilion. The space was so beautiful on its own that we did not even worry about spending the extra money on flowers or excessive decorations. When the day finally came everyone raved about how beautiful it was. Family members even took senior photos and other family photos using the scenery that was there because of how nice it looked. It truly was even better than I had remembered. As we watched the weather when the day was approaching I was concerned that it might rain, Mark assured me that they could enclose the pavilion and everything would be fine. Luckily the weather held out and it ended up being perfect, but it was one less thing to worry about knowing we did not need another contingency plan and Mark would be on top of it. The day of the wedding the staff was super friendly and helpful. Anything we asked for, they were on top of. They stayed in the background throughout the day and made sure everything stayed on track according to the schedule we had given them. My husband and I are big foodies. We love a good meal and were not afraid to sit down and enjoy it when the time came during the reception. We had eaten at Marks restaurant, The Harbor, down the road a couple times while we were visiting the area and had high expectations based on that. We were not let down. We had a buffet which can be difficult to pull off with good food and everything was phenomenal. Everyone that came enjoyed their meal and we have been hearing about how good everything was since. Mark had several good menu's to choose from on the website, but he customized the buffet based on what we asked for and had no problem doing exactly what we wanted. My only regret is that I did not think to bring the leftovers home or sneak some of the sugar rolls in my bag to bring back to the hotel! (As I read this to my husband he informed me that his friend raved to him yesterday about how good everything was and admitted to sneaking three rolls back to the hotel himself!)

My husband and I held our 40th anniversary party at Hidden Hills in the Marble room back in June. We had about 45 people but paid for 50 because it was "cheaper that way" since there is an upcharge if you have less than 50 guests. Worked out to almost $50 a person. You can decide if that is fair pricing or not. The hall itself is VERY dated with loud, colourful carpeting with chairs to match and gaudy gold mirrors on the wall. We choose to overlook that as the venue was just a place to have the party but I'd never want to hold a wedding there because of the 80s decor. We picked a buffet menu and were able to work with Mark, the chef, to get a menu that would satisfy most. My two main complaints: Number one: paying almost $50 a meal (even for people not even eating and for 3 children under 5) and having to leave all food not consumed at the party. Nothing and no one will be able to explain to me how this is a fair policy. Such a waste. Number two, an upcharge of a dollar a plate for stuffed fish (for the canned crab meat that was undetectable) and having that fish not only be the size of a fish stick but run out! (most likely because of the miniscule serving size). I was VERY upset and frustrated with this. The rest of the food, especially the Roast Beef of Baron and the potatoes were exceptionally good and most of the guests were complimentary of the food. One other negative is the constant rush to get the food off the tables and get the buffet taken down One hour is not a reasonable amount of time for food to be served. They had it over Sterno so it was being kept hot but everyone felt very rushed with their meals. My mother had her plate taken while she was still eating! We had 2 guest arriving late and they did offer to make up plates for them and put them in the fridge for them to be heated up when they arrived, so that was nice. Another confusing and frustrating thing was the mandatory tip for the bar. Our guests, like most, tip as they order, so they bar staff got tipped twice. We did not have an open bar and a few did comment that they mixed drinks were quite pricey. All in all, we had a good time and have no complaints about the quality of the food; just the quantity and the time constraints.
