Iron Claw Foot Tub

What a lovely experience! My skin felt so soft after my hour long soak! Reminder don't wear your silver jewelry in the mineral water!

Wow! I love that SA has this now and I hope they make succeed. I felt like I was out of town, since this is the sort of activity my husband and I partake in when traveling. We chose the Japanese wood tub because it seemed romantic and we hadn't tried one before. We came with some time to kill before our reservation so that we could check out the grounds and order food/drink. They had a good selection of alcohol/non-alcoholic drinks along with nibbles. I had the cheese, salami, olives which was served with pita chips. It was all very good, the only thing that would have made it better was some spicy mustard since I prefer that with my cheese/salami and something sweet to finish off with, like some chocolate or fruit. Cold water is provided and there is a cork fee is you bring your own bottle. Clothing is optional in your private tub room. There is an outdoor shower available in your room but please note there is a public park directly behind. It is very unlikely someone would see you nekkid unless they're staring very hard. The setting was beautiful in late February with the Mountain Laurel already blooming and the birds singing sweetly. We have the free six month membership and plan to come again but before it gets too hot. The tubs are shaded so even if it rains you can still enjoy a soak. There is also a private hammock and a seating area outside the rooms with a fire pit and water fountain to enjoy before the soak. If you are expecting total quiet, you probably won't get it unless no one is occupying the other room. We could hear our neighbors loud and clear. The train tracks are also in front of Camp Hot Wells and there is a park nearby so we saw bike riders while soaking. They probably couldn't see us though. If you want to visit but aren't a member, there are picnic tables and a hammock in the public area. You can do a foot soak with purchase of a drink. Again, I think is great SA has this natural source of hot springs to enjoy!

Everything about Camp Hot Wells was 10/10. They give clear directions to get to the grounds on the website and once you arrive and check in at the window, eve goes smooth from there. Daniel was in charge of the camp grounds during our appointment time and he was amazing. He helped us find the perfect bottle of wine, build our charcuterie board and even gave us more details on the entire property that we were able to walk around as we waited for our turn in the clawfoot suite. Once our time arrived, he showed us how to work everything, they provided a speaker to make the time spent in the bath more personal and he came and checked on us to make sure we could order anything additional if we wanted. The only thing that I would give warning to, is that if you have a sensitive nose the smell of the sulfur can be overwhelming at some points. For me, it was the strongest and hardest to tolerate at the foot bath, but I barely smelled anything at all while in our private tub. Overall, I would definitely recommend and do it again, just with a warning on the strong aroma of the sulfur. Thank you Daniel for everything!!!!!

Fun little place to come soak and have a few drinks. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly the space is small and quaint. I'll be coming back to hang later.

I took a gamble and scheduled a soak for my wife and I this past weekend. I simply googled 'mineral bath San Antonio' and discovered this hidden gem. It is located in the picturesque, historic Hot Wells area. We booked the Cedar bath and loved the set up. You have complete privacy in that the bath is enclosed within a beautiful green area surrounded by trees and greenery. There is a call button that will get an attendant who you can order drinks from and have them brought to you during your scheduled soak time. $100 for one hour is a small price for two people relaxing In a mineral bath. You will feel a sense of relaxation that will only make you want to schedule another appointment! It's perfect for those who want self care time but aren't comfortable with massages. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

Was gifted this experience for my birthday and can say without a doubt I will be visiting this place again. The whole experience was amazing. I did receive emails and a phone call prior to the date to verify my attendance. The only problem I had was that maps gave me the wrong directions (Google Hot wells conservatory) and you'll find the place. The check in was quick and easy. We were set up in our own room and the nice woman (didn't catch her name) explained the process to us. She even gave us extra time due to the directions issue. I will say I was worried because the tubs are out doors and the weather was cold but the water is the right amount of hot to keep you warm. We ordered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board that was spectacular. There was a couple in the larger tub right next to us ( in their own private room) but as a courtesy we kept our voices at a regular as they did too. The view is nice and I like that the nice woman stated she would knock, if we would rather her not enter she would place everything under the door. So ladies privacy is respected. I do recommend taking your shower shoes as you have to leave the area to use the restroom. And your own towel just for extra comfort. They have a small "patio" are right outside the private rooms so if your not done with the food and wine you can sit and relax. There are only the two rooms so there really aren't crowds of people. I will be returning soon.

Proof of my BOOKED group soak that I was denied the opportunity to have.

I am utterly disappointed with your service and lack of consideration for your customers. I booked a group soak for 10 on your website, as directed, and placed my credit card on file to hold my reservation for December 2nd at 6pm. I also made a personal visit to your site to do a walk through so that I could get a better idea of the layout for our girls night event. On the night before my scheduled event, I am being told that my reservation was never confirmed. DESPITE the FACT that my member profile on your platform shows that my soak was BOOKED on November 17, 2023 at 2:17 for a group soak on December 2, 2023 at 6pm. Well please tell me what your confirmation procedure entails as I never received a phone call nor email to confirm or deny my reservation. My credit being on file at the time of booking should have been what confirmed the booking. Please tell me how my reservation is being cancelled and you have chosen to honor someone else when I know the date and time was available when I booked it?

The outdoor suite is private but also in nature. We saw cardinals and felt breezes.

We arrived around 1:00 PM on a Sunday. I had a rental car that I was returning shortly. The valet was great with helping get the car unloaded and keeping it nearby so I could return the rental/not pay to park for that 20-30 minutes. The front desk was able to accommodate and give me my room at 1:00 PM. The room was a great size, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the evening reception with some snacks and cocktails. I enjoyed the rum punch while my wife had wine. Breakfast was equally good. Lines were manageable and the food quality was excellent. My wife had omelettes two of the morning. I used the fitness room each morning which was clean and had enough options. I didn't make it to the pool but my wife did. The Riverwalk was right there, 10 minute walk to the Market Square, 15-20 minute to the Convention Center and Alamo. Bed/pillows were comfortable. We had housekeeping come daily which was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend. San Antonio is a great city and the Embassy Suites makes your visit a little better.

It was still AMAZING and left me wishing that I could stay longer! My King Room was huge and ultra clean and comfortable! Taking a break from work, I headed to the pool deck, which was small but sufficient and had comfortable chairs to sun in. I remembered an amazing redfish dish from Ostra, enjoyed so many years ago... I really wanted to eat at Ostra again this visit, because I saw redfish on the menu and wondered if it was really as good as my memory of it. I was initially bummed that Ostra was closed for a private event during my stay, BUT my disappointment quickly turned to excitement when I saw the same dish offered on the room service menu. YES!! It was as good if not better than my memory of it! Finally and importantly, the individuals working in valet, front desk, and room service were so service driven and friendly! Overall, I cannot wait to stay at the Mokara again in the hopefully, not so distant future!

There is easy access to the Riverwalk, plenty of dining options nearby and the Alamo is only a 5 minute walk from the back door. The hotel feels older but has been remodeled very recently. My room was comfortable, had a nice balcony and plenty of space. If I had one complaint it was that the Riverwalk area can be loud at night, so there is a tradeoff for being close. I would definitely recommend using this hotel for a sales meeting. I stayed Monday through Thursday while attending an Inspiring Women Leadership Conference sponsored…read moreby DPS, and this stay... was a mixed bag wrapped in a pretty River Walk view. Let's start with the good. Arrival was smooth, valet was on point, and every staff member I encountered--from housekeeping to the gentleman assisting with luggage--was pleasant and professional. Customer service? Solid across the board. The River's Edge Lounge was definitely a highlight. Happy hour did what it needed to do. Queso and chips were good, margaritas were even better, and our server, Blake Leigh (if I got that right), was absolutely amazing. Attentive, kind, and just good energy. Now... the not-so-great. Hot water was a problem. Tuesday morning--none. An engineer came up and got it working temporarily. Wednesday morning--none again. By then, multiple guests were experiencing the same issue, so clearly it wasn't just my room. I get it--there were hundreds of women in the hotel--but lack of preparation shouldn't fall on the guest. Wednesday and Thursday mornings? Still no hot water. I didn't even bother calling again. Then came the conference food situation... and whew. Lunch started with a salad, and the woman next to me found a bug crawling out of her lettuce. That was it for me--I immediately lost my appetite and left. No coming back from that. Breakfast earlier that week was a honey biscuit with chicken... but it wasn't giving honey, and the chicken was overcooked and dry. To their credit, when I shared my experience with the River's Edge staff, they comped my queso. That was appreciated. One more thing--there was an occasional odor in the hotel. Not constant, but noticeable when it hit. Let's just say... it leaned toward sewer vibes and leave it there. Fiume Pizzeria and Wine Bar I also ordered pizza from Fiume during my stay, and unfortunately... it missed the mark. I tried the Sweet Texas Heat (white sauce, applewood smoked bacon, Calabrian pepper, fresh basil, hot honey), and for $35, I expected better. It was overcooked--thin crust turned dry and brittle--and once that happens, it's hard to recover. Flavor was okay, but the texture ruined it. The side salad? Very good. But I wasn't paying $35 for a salad. Final Thoughts The Hilton Palacio del Rio has a prime location right on the River Walk, it's clean, and the staff is genuinely pleasant--which goes a long way. But between the inconsistent hot water, food issues, and a few questionable moments... I'm torn. Would I stay again? Maybe--for convenience. Would I eat there again? No.
