Early morning to the Alamo and back for a refreshing dip in the pool before walking to go out for the evening ! Their breakfast buffet is superb. The host Amber was friendly and told us about the San Antonio Saga at the San Fernando Cathedral. She also told us about the Pearl District, but I don't think we will have time to visit this trip. First off, it says "Riverwalk" but this is not directly on the riverwalk. If you walk outside and around a corner, THEN you can get to the riverwalk, but it's not the bustling part. You have to walk a bit to get to all the bars and restaurants. Now to the parking. You can self part in a lot catercorner from the hotel, but it doesn't look very secure, or you can valet for $32 a day. I will say this, I appreciated the valet manager, for the life of me I can't remember her name, but she was great. She was very thorough with what we were going to be charged and why etc etc. We never felt like she was trying to hide any charges or anything. Valet service was speedy and all of the people we encountered were very nice. We were explained that the hotel charges $100 to your credit card for "incidentals." According to the way it was explained, includes the valet charges, room service (if you order room service) etc and whatever is not used from that, it's credited back to your card. Which I did see was true. The remaining was credited back to our credit card. The rooms are a bit outdated! Though our room was clean, it was an older room WITHOUT a fridge and/or microwave. When we checked in, I asked if there was a fridge and microwave in the room and was told no, but they are available upon request. Like the other reviews mention, the walls are thin. We kept on hearing people making a ruckus in the hall but thankfully not into the later hours of the night. When we first entered our room it was HOT! We were told that they don't keep the ac on in the rooms, but thankfully once we turned on the ac, it cooled down quickly. After that we didn't have any issues with our room. We didn't dine in the restaurant or try the breakfast buffet. With so many other restaurants to try, we didn't think it was worth it. The breakfast buffet is overpriced in my opinion. At roughly $17 a person, it wasn't worth it and decided to get breakfast tacos instead lol The pool here is nice. It's located on the 3rd floor with many benches and tables to veg out on. We came at a perfect time, since there were not many people so we had a lot of time to just relax without a crowd. Overall our stay here was nice. The staff we dealt with were polite and friendly but we really didn't have a lot of issues that we needed to address so we didn't have to talk to many people. It was a good experience for what we paid for but there are other places to stay on the riverwalk.

After a brief explanation about said amenities, this young lady promised a discount for the boat ride as well as an American Express gift card for $100.00 and a carriage ride at night through downtown San Antonio, all for only $20.00! Sounds too good to be true, right? All I had to do was attend a 30-minute seminar from Wyndham resorts and my wife and I could enjoy all of those luxurious amenities that were promised us. After a brief and hasty decision, we both decided to see what this was all about. After a short shuttle ride across town to this defunct Wyndham location, my wife and I were ushered inside of the place and asked to fill out forms, which seemed off to the both of us. From the moment we left the River Walk area to this desolate location in a seedy part of town, something felt very wrong here. Needless to say, the seminar was simply a hook to buy into a timeshare from the Wyndham group, and they baited a bunch of tourists like myself to this place to debate and convince us to sign on their dotted line. Needless to say, it was a scam from the word go, and after a lengthy argument about saying "no" to buying a timeshare, my wife and I had missed our chances of riding any boats on that particular day. My advice is to think twice before saying "yes" to any sort of promotional arrangement whatsoever. Shame on you, Wyndham!
