We drove down from Dallas to come here based on the reviews. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We really wanted to love it but were extremely disappointed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been to hot springs all over the world and this place needs to make some improvements to say the least. First there are 2 'suites' and it was really nice if you weren't directly next to the other suite. The people had on their speaker and it was so loud. Even if they had it lower you could still hear everything they said. We had a speaker too but we would just have competed with them. It was hard to relax especially cause we didn't like their music. And the tubs. Ughh. They were black and old. And nasty. The provided shower only had cold water so not much of a shower. No soap either. They advertised food but the only thing they had was cheese. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only positive was the lady that worked there. Super nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We booked for early afternoon and late in the evening. We are canceling our evening appointment and losing $100 because it was too late to cancel. When you spend $100 for an hour you expect more. Really disappointed. This place is nice. I went by myself as I travel for work. I had one last day in San Antonio and decided to do the clawfoot tub soak. Man, did I feel relaxed! Water was nice and hot. The cold shower in suite is nice to cool down and then climb back in. I like that the location has cold brews and wine available for purchase. $75.00 for an hour soak is a little steep. I have gone to geothermal pools all around the country and this is more than double some of those locations. If you want to do it, go for it and splurge a little bit. This was a wonderful experience to find in San Antonio! Just south of downtown tucked away in a quaint quiet little area that backs to a park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You need to make reservations for the private tubs (there is a spot with two claw foot tubs for two individuals or a spot with a barrel type tub that fits two).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The springs are sulfur springs so you do feel a bit like a deviled egg initially but the warmth is so relaxing. You can dip your feet in the footwells prior to your reservation! There is a bar with charcuterie, wine, and beer. The tubs are very private and have individual entrances through a zen garden that is shared in the middle. There is also a shower by each to wash the sulfur off (the smell does come out of your clothing with regular washing). The area also had a Bluetooth speaker we could connect to our phone and have music play. Towels and water are provided and also a cold shower. The water is HOT but you can cool it off or drain as needed. Staff was incredibly friendly and booking/reminders/waivers all online went smoothly. We will definitely do this again. Wow! I love that SA has this now and I hope they make succeed. I felt like I was out of town, since this is the sort of activity my husband and I partake in when traveling. We chose the Japanese wood tub because it seemed romantic and we hadn't tried one before. We came with some time to kill before our reservation so that we could check out the grounds and order food/drink. They had a good selection of alcohol/non-alcoholic drinks along with nibbles. I had the cheese, salami, olives which was served with pita chips. It was all very good, the only thing that would have made it better was some spicy mustard since I prefer that with my cheese/salami and something sweet to finish off with, like some chocolate or fruit. Cold water is provided and there is a cork fee is you bring your own bottle. Clothing is optional in your private tub room. There is an outdoor shower available in your room but please note there is a public park directly behind. It is very unlikely someone would see you nekkid unless they're staring very hard. The setting was beautiful in late February with the Mountain Laurel already blooming and the birds singing sweetly. We have the free six month membership and plan to come again but before it gets too hot. The tubs are shaded so even if it rains you can still enjoy a soak. There is also a private hammock and a seating area outside the rooms with a fire pit and water fountain to enjoy before the soak. If you are expecting total quiet, you probably won't get it unless no one is occupying the other room. We could hear our neighbors loud and clear. The train tracks are also in front of Camp Hot Wells and there is a park nearby so we saw bike riders while soaking. They probably couldn't see us though. If you want to visit but aren't a member, there are picnic tables and a hammock in the public area. You can do a foot soak with purchase of a drink. Again, I think is great SA has this natural source of hot springs to enjoy! read more

The foot baths in the front area are fun to sit and hang out and have a drink with friends. The front foot baths are free but buying a drink or snack is highly encouraged since they are turned on and maintained by an employee in the concession stand/bar. Employees were lovely. I went with one friend and had an awesome time. These are the only hot springs I know of in SA. The full body soak areas are so relaxing. I loved bathing in the claw foot tub. We went on an specially hot afternoon and there was enough shade that it felt great. You can also adjust the hot springs to come out as cool/lukewarm versus hot. Additionally, each suite as a super cold shower that is another nice way to stay cool between soaks. The private hot spring soak suites are clothing optional. This would be a great date spot. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town! Would love to see what it's like at night. read more

Everything about Camp Hot Wells was 10/10. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They give clear directions to get to the grounds on the website and once you arrive and check in at the window, eve goes smooth from there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Daniel was in charge of the camp grounds during our appointment time and he was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He helped us find the perfect bottle of wine, build our charcuterie board and even gave us more details on the entire property that we were able to walk around as we waited for our turn in the clawfoot suite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once our time arrived, he showed us how to work everything, they provided a speaker to make the time spent in the bath more personal and he came and checked on us to make sure we could order anything additional if we wanted. The only thing that I would give warning to, is that if you have a sensitive nose the smell of the sulfur can be overwhelming at some points. For me, it was the strongest and hardest to tolerate at the foot bath, but I barely smelled anything at all while in our private tub. I took a gamble and scheduled a soak for my wife and I this past weekend. I simply googled 'mineral bath San Antonio' and discovered this hidden gem. It is located in the picturesque, historic Hot Wells area. We booked the Cedar bath and loved the set up. You have complete privacy in that the bath is enclosed within a beautiful green area surrounded by trees and greenery. There is a call button that will get an attendant who you can order drinks from and have them brought to you during your scheduled soak time. $100 for one hour is a small price for two people relaxing In a mineral bath. You will feel a sense of relaxation that will only make you want to schedule another appointment! It's perfect for those who want self care time but aren't comfortable with massages. Try it! Was gifted this experience for my birthday and can say without a doubt I will be visiting this place again. The whole experience was amazing. I did receive emails and a phone call prior to the date to verify my attendance. The only problem I had was that maps gave me the wrong directions (Google Hot wells conservatory) and you'll find the place. The check in was quick and easy. We were set up in our own room and the nice woman (didn't catch her name) explained the process to us. She even gave us extra time due to the directions issue. I will say I was worried because the tubs are out doors and the weather was cold but the water is the right amount of hot to keep you warm. We ordered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board that was spectacular. There was a couple in the larger tub right next to us ( in their own private room) but as a courtesy we kept our voices at a regular as they did too. The view is nice and I like that the nice woman stated she would knock, if we would rather her not enter she would place everything under the door. So ladies privacy is respected. I do recommend taking your shower shoes as you have to leave the area to use the restroom. And your own towel just for extra comfort. They have a small "patio" are right outside the private rooms so if your not done with the food and wine you can sit and relax. There are only the two rooms so there really aren't crowds of people. From the moment we got there to set up and decorate for our event, this man in charge kept coming over and asking 21 questions. They wanted to know everything as if they didn't know what the event we were having from the start. They will not let you bring alcohol because they have a stand to sell there. They don't have enough parking for your friends and family. They do not let you park inside closer to bring stuff back from event. It's hell of a walk and they're so inconsiderate. WACK PEOPLE & WACK PLACE. Waste of money and time. Also you'll get a $560 charge if the place isn't left perfect spotless clean. You get charge more than the actual rent of the location NEVER AGAIN. I booked a group soak for 10 on your website, as directed, and placed my credit card on file to hold my reservation for December 2nd at 6pm. I also made a personal visit to your site to do a walk through so that I could get a better idea of the layout for our girls night event. On the night before my scheduled event, I am being told that my reservation was never confirmed. DESPITE the FACT that my member profile on your platform shows that my soak was BOOKED on November 17, 2023 at 2:17 for a group soak on December 2, 2023 at 6pm. Well please tell me what your confirmation procedure entails as I never received a phone call nor email to confirm or deny my reservation.
