He was easygoing, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. We also contacted them at the last minute looking to book a ride. I'm sure squeezing us into the schedule wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they accommodated us anyway and were incredibly gracious about it. We really appreciated their flexibility. The scenery was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. The ride took us through some amazing country with great views and a peaceful atmosphere that you just don't get to experience any other way. The horses were calm and easy to ride, and the entire experience felt safe and relaxed. If you're on the fence because you've never ridden before, don't be. We had a great time and would absolutely do it again. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we did end up losing power completely for about 7-8 hours of my day that went through getting ready for hair and makeup and through my ceremony and most of my reception. Thankfully I have wonderful friends/family who had trucks able to plug in curling irons. We notified the venue coordinator Luci and she frantically did everything in her power to find solutions for my day. Her and her husband went personally out of their way during my day to find lamps for inside the barn as it was already getting dark with the clouds moving in. With the power being out that meant the bathrooms were also no longer functional given the fact of the place running on a well system. We understand the unfortunate and unseen circumstances of the power going out is no one's fault. However, when Luci contacted management/owners we were met with very distasteful and unacceptable responses. Luci was working very hard to help fix the problem and find us a generator as there is not any on site. She was then told from management/owners that it was not their problem. When someone from management/owners did show up on site they were also not very pleasant towards my father who had tried to talk to them about the situation. My parents and other family members spent their time running around the venue and running to nearby stores to buy water jugs to keeps bathrooms somewhat functional and a relative went out of the way to go get their own generator for us to use. This became a very stressful situation not only for my family but for me as the bride trying to help figure out what to do given there was no lights and it was becoming dark very fast. Once I learned of the response to Luci I was even more frustrated and very disappointed in the way the situation was being handled. I do want to re-iterate that Luci was not involved in any of the distasteful actions that happened. Luci was the one running around on her own will and time trying to help find solutions for us and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us. Luci is a wonderful asset to the venue and without her I fear my wedding would've been over well before it even started. After the wedding we did reach out to management/owners and were still met with the same distasteful responses and excuses for the lack of solutions or support. Luci I thank you for everything and cannot tell you how much I appreciate you. As for management/owners. I hope you take this as seriously as possible because due to your lack of concern for someone who paid good money for a wedding at your venue, it was almost completely ruined. Due to time of day and the rain storms we would not have had the choice to move outside either. I would recommend this venue for other brides due to how stunning the property is, but please be aware that management/owners will not be as pleasant. Luci their coordinator for the property is absolutely wonderful and she makes the place shine even more than the property itself and will help you in every way possible. From the moment my then-fiancée and I stepped foot on the property to the day we got married every question we had was answered promptly and clearly. We were allowed to come in and walk the property on non-wedding days so we could set up and figure out how exactly we wanted everything. This was a HUGE plus for us, as it allowed set up to be SOOOO smooth the day before our wedding as we already knew exactly what we wanted. Rachel and Luci were both super responsive and helpful, and set up was a breeze with them checking in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Another HUGE plus for us was the fact that we were not made to use any specific vendors and could being in whoever we wanted. We got to pick each of our vendors completely on our own terms without stress or pressure from the Gathering Place. Future brides- I cannot tell you how much less stress I had knowing I had this venue and the amazing people who work there to help.

It's a drive--a Christmas drive at Evergreen Drive…read more This whole block located in Pinetop-Lakeside welcomes you with a parade of Christmas lights, like a multicolored vision against the night. Houses are decorated on by twinkling lights and festive ornaments formed a joyous symphony all around. Festive lawn scenes dotted each front yard. There were Santa Clauses and reindeers but also some Christmas figures looking magical, which together painted the entire street with a fairy-tale hue. Each house had its own warmth that was shared with everyone in the vicinity. There were many cars slowly driving in order to capture the lit displays on both sides of the street. The first time we came here, we parked and walked the block all the way through. The second visit (which we still enjoyed doing), we just drove slowly like other cars. It was fun taking pictures while enjoying the immersive experience. This dazzling kaleidoscope around Evergreen Drive will remind you that Christmas spirit is just around the corner and it's a special season that comes only once a year.

On our most recent visit, we stayed in room 510, which was clean and comfortable. As a light sleeper, I really appreciated the option to keep the room fan running--it helped block out noise and made for a much better night's sleep. The bathroom also has a working fan, which does a great job clearing out moisture from the jetted tub, shower, and overall use. The breakfast area is clean, the food is fresh, and the pancake machine is a must for our family! Overall, a consistently excellent experience--we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Show Low.

The views from the roof are spectacular with the cliffs surrounding this historic building. The building has been meticulously restored and still a has modern feel to it. The bathtubs are nice and long and you will just feel like you're at home. Such a beautiful place to retreat to and feel like you're in a simpler time. The front desk clerk left at 5 pm, so we were quite concerned our key would not let us back in the hotel after dinner. Thank goodness it did, because the keys didn't work the next mornin, and I would have been locked outa my room. Our room was not cleaned. We only had one towel. Sheets were stained. No toiletries. Not even soap! When I asked Audrey for soap, shampoo and conditioner and towels, I just got one towel, and no just conditioner. Audrey said they had no conditioner, and had no "bar" soap, and then she handed me a partially-used, already opened travel-size liquid facial cleanser. There were two rat/mouse traps positioned under my bedside table. Not a great feeling. The shelf in the shower was broken off and missing. The TV and continental breakfast were a complete waste of time. The leather sofas in the lobby were cracked and worn, and looked like they had sat outside in the sun all summer. Too bad. They made an effort to refurbish the place, but didn't hire the right people to look after it. Sad story and a waste of my money. BUYER BEWARE!

We got there, and were seated immediately. They put some chips and salsa in front of us took our drink orders. I was glad they had sweet tea on the menu. The burger came with jalapeno jack cheese, a layer of green chile, and mayo (plus the fixins). It was a good burger. Not soggy, not mushy...not too shabby. Liz ordered the Road Kill with a baked potato and side salad that she grabbed from the salad bar. It was a grilled onion and mushroom topped Salisbury steak. Also, not bad, but I would probably order more medium than medium rare. Coke products, Rodeo Channel on the TV, and a John Wayne ate here once theme...it was fun, and the service was nice and quick. They Safire looked to have a robust New Mexican fare on the menu as well, which I gave a strong once over. Maybe next time. I recommend stopping.
