Aspen Lodge recently hosted my 40+ member family for a reunion over July 4th. We rented the entire…read moreBunkhouse and Chalet buildings with queen, king, and shared twin bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as one of the cabins. At this size rental, the owners allowed us full use of the industrial kitchen and lodge. At the time of our stay, the kitchen was completely ready for cooking with every pot/pan/utensil we could need to prepare meals, and the lodge had a lot of fun stuff to keep us busy: volleyball net with volleyball, pool table, board games, and a ton of seating for hanging out. The common areas of the Chalet and Bunkhouse also had a seating area with board games, and a TV with DVD player and DVDs, and a kitchenette w/ fridge and microwave for making coffee/tea and heating food. The owners of Aspen Lodge could not have been more kind and accommodating. They got about a dozen or more of us in for horseback riding while we were there. The horseback riding trail was beautiful and fun. I highly recommend staying at Aspen Lodge, especially if you are a big group and want to stay together and get lots of quality time. The rooms had a lot of charm and character with very sweet unique decor & art in each. The accommodations are not fancy or luxurious. The room felt much more like staying in a family's house than a hotel (i.e., the bed, linens, towels were not fancy, but they were clean, the bed was a bit worn in - probably not amazing for someone with a really sensitive back). All that said, you and your family will have a fantastic time here!

The horse were spectacular and perfect for new riders. We arrived at the site and they had prepared a wonderful lunch and had a table and white linen overlooking the beautiful forest. A fire was made and we enjoyed our new friends. If there was a rating higher I would give it! A perfect and memorable experience and my new wife is already talking about another trip there next year.

I cannot say enough great things about this place and the people who work there. I never felt…read moreworried or like this place wasn't perfect for my wedding. From the moment my then-fiancée and I stepped foot on the property to the day we got married every question we had was answered promptly and clearly. We were allowed to come in and walk the property on non-wedding days so we could set up and figure out how exactly we wanted everything. This was a HUGE plus for us, as it allowed set up to be SOOOO smooth the day before our wedding as we already knew exactly what we wanted. Rachel and Luci were both super responsive and helpful, and set up was a breeze with them checking in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Another HUGE plus for us was the fact that we were not made to use any specific vendors and could being in whoever we wanted. We got to pick each of our vendors completely on our own terms without stress or pressure from the Gathering Place. Future brides- I cannot tell you how much less stress I had knowing I had this venue and the amazing people who work there to help.

Thank you Rachel for sending me my apple MacBook charger cable!

Poorly managed. Poorly maintained. What a rip off for over $200 per night. I will not stay there…read moreagain- well worth the drive to Globe/Miami. The room key-cards rarely worked. The front desk clerk left at 5 pm, so we were quite concerned our key would not let us back in the hotel after dinner. Thank goodness it did, because the keys didn't work the next mornin, and I would have been locked outa my room. Our room was not cleaned. We only had one towel. Sheets were stained. No toiletries. Not even soap! When I asked Audrey for soap, shampoo and conditioner and towels, I just got one towel, and no just conditioner. Audrey said they had no conditioner, and had no "bar" soap, and then she handed me a partially-used, already opened travel-size liquid facial cleanser. There were two rat/mouse traps positioned under my bedside table. Not a great feeling. The shelf in the shower was broken off and missing. The TV and continental breakfast were a complete waste of time. The leather sofas in the lobby were cracked and worn, and looked like they had sat outside in the sun all summer. Too bad. They made an effort to refurbish the place, but didn't hire the right people to look after it. Sad story and a waste of my money. BUYER BEWARE!

Rather than attempting to sleep in a room with no AC I picked him up and he stayed the night with us in our Airbnb. The following morning (Saturday) he went to his room showered and left the room. Long story short he never once slept in the hotel room which was purchased from Friday - Sunday. Per the Hotel manager since the shower was used there was no option for a refund.. pretty expensive shower $428 to be exact. Poor communication on managements part and pretty disappointed how the entire situation was handled.
