Well this trip didn't suck…read more Myself and a few of my closest idiot friends decided to have a nice relaxing weekend in the mountains away from Scottsdale, so we booked this quaint little cabin. By quaint I mean 6,500 square feet with enough pull-out couches to fit a small circus. The good: -Never ran out of hot water! -Almost every room had a flat screen TV. -I think the North Pole threw up in this house. Christmas trees EVERYWHERE. It was glorious. -Complete kitchen with everything a group on clowns could possibly need (pitchforks for s'mores, got'em) -Amenities galore, check the website. The bad: -I was expecting there to be snow and it was 60 degrees outside during the day. -One night I slept in the sun-room in the master bedroom and it got really hot in the morning...but I guess that's why they call it a sun-room. -Playing volleyball on the fake-grass area is tough because the ball kept going down the hill. -We didn't pack enough food so we had to hit up the nearby Safeway. Highly recommended.

This was a HUGE plus for us, as it allowed set up to be SOOOO smooth the day before our wedding as we already knew exactly what we wanted. Rachel and Luci were both super responsive and helpful, and set up was a breeze with them checking in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Another HUGE plus for us was the fact that we were not made to use any specific vendors and could being in whoever we wanted. We got to pick each of our vendors completely on our own terms without stress or pressure from the Gathering Place. Future brides- I cannot tell you how much less stress I had knowing I had this venue and the amazing people who work there to help.

Geoff and Sandi were very friendly and made our weekend special. They surprised us with a bouquet roses in our room and strawberries, champagne and martinelli's sparkling cider on our anniversary night. I was also impressed with Sandi's willingness to accommodate my dietary restrictions. I am on a low-carb diet. Sandi made low-carb pancakes for me and made a fresh strawberry topping for them. They were delicious! The omelets and fresh fruit she made for us were delicious too. I highly recommend the Wolf Manor!

The yard where the ceremony was in direct sunlight from 9:00-6:00 which made for a very hot and miserable day--we were asked to stop coming inside of the house to preserve the air conditioning. In the Red Barn, the Sage's, thus the name of the farm, host house concerts and exclusive private events for friends of Golden Sage Farm. The barn is such an intimate venue and seeing the first performance of the season, the Cary Morin Duo, which was so enjoyable, we cannot wait for their May event starring Kirk James! All proceeds go to the musicians and the shows are run by volunteers. Check out their website for their event lineup! You BYO beverages and snacks! We love that there is absolutely no smoking on the premises and that they aim for zero trash! There are horseshoe pits and a pool table to enjoy after the show! I know all of my guests enjoyed the space, many traveled from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, California, Colorado and Texas! The Retreat offered a luxury shuttle that brought our guests to and from the wedding. Most of the guests stayed in cute Williams on Route 66. My husband and I spent the night in the VERY ROMANTIC candle lit Tipi. What a treat, I'll never forget it! So cozy, bohemian and beautiful! There were many special touches throughout, I know this place is only going to get more and more amazing over time! I will definitely be coming back for a yoga retreat!

Everyone kept asking "how in the world did you find this beautiful venue?" Both Emily and Joshua went the extra mile to make sure the day was perfect. Anything I needed changed or had questions on they were both right there. We had over 120 people at the wedding and everyone fit in there to my surprise! We did move a few tables for dancing but it was a fabulous night & wish we could go back!!
