I didn't know Mr. Wayne had a yelp! Found his ranch online on someone's blog almost 2 years ago - took a family of 5 to his ranch for horseback riding. Most places don't allow young kids to ride alone on their own horse, since she had riding experience and Mr Wayne was able to test her riding and allow her to ride on her own. Each of us had an absolute blast and I loved that we actually GO exploring quite a bit out into wild wilderness. No walking in circles or going just barely away from headquarters. You're riding straight out into his many acres of land and can't see where you came from. All his horses we've seen have been well trained and gentle. He sang old songs and yodeled for us, got history lessons and so much learning from him on the trail. Just went up for a girls weekend and had 3 of us ladies on a ride. Both times I've done a ride with Mr. Wayne it's been an experience. Loved disconnecting and will be bringing the family back soon. Thank you!

I rode with my brother on 10/19/24 and had an absolutely wonderful ride. Wayne and his 3 teen helpers were very attentive and checking to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the ride. Wayne, was awesome...even sang some songs and yodeled on our way back. Jayden, Hailey and Suzanne were absolutely delightful and so helpful. Great to see teens being so involved with their uncle and friend. They were having fun and it made the ride even better. It was a real treat for us to ride with them and enjoy the "High Arizona Landscape" . Highly recommend.

What a beautiful winter ride! We had our hesitations about going out in the cold but we were SO glad we did. Wayne was an expert guide, with stories about the area and lots of information about the flora and fauna. We were out for a couple hours but could easily have stayed out for a couple more. A very chill (haha... literally, it was in the 30s) relaxing ride through some amazing high-mountain Arizona countryside. Perfect. BTW they've moved about 20 minutes from the Worldmark. Off the main road but easy to get to, even in a 2WD.

Our guides were incredible. I ride 4+ times a week and this trail ride was the most fun I've had on a horse in a long time!

The best part of my stay in Overgaard was Ramey Ranch and horse riding with Wayne Ramey and Kyle. The horse ranch is located adjacent to the Bison Ranch and very convenient if you are vacationing at the ranch. If you are looking for a place to have fun with caring people this is it. I visited the ranch several times during the day. I went riding all three days of my vacation. I highly recommend at least a two hour ride, there is so much to see in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. The forest just goes on and on, never ends, the views are amazing. We saw elk, deer and wild horses. Be sure to bring your cell phone or camera. They will provide water and a place to carry it on your horse. Wayne and Kyle answered all kinds of questions about the horses, the land we were riding through and what ever else came up. They were very easy going and relaxed sharing their wonderful horses with all the riders. Some of the horses they have raised from birth. They have families of horses, grandparents, moms, dads and a baby. Make sure they tell you the story about Medicine Woman and how Wayne and Robert saved her life. My two adult children went on a two hour ride with me and thoroughly enjoyed it. They loved the horses they rode, they were a little sore the next day, yet they said it was worth it. My husband who stays away from horses was thrilled that I was having such a good time visiting at the ranch with the horses and the Cowboys. We are planning a fall visit. One of the other riders told me that Indian Summers in the area are beautiful. Maybe on my next visit, I will ride two times each day.

Ramey Ranch was awesome! Took husband, 4 year old twins, and grandma on a 1 hour ride and it was perfect. Our guide, Ian, was personable, knowledgeable, respectful and wonderful with the kids. He even let one of my boys ride with him when my saddle became uncomfortable. Thank you for making my boys' 1st Horseback Riding experience fun and memorable. Great price. Great service. Highly recommend.

We were all experienced riders but Wayne went out of his way to make a great ride through National Forest.

The experience here was horrible. From the very first interaction which should have been a red…read moreflag. However we decided to still book with them. I guess that makes us at fault, which based on reading the owners responses to negative reviews she is going to blame us anyways We were going for my bachelorette trip, my Maid of honor called to confirm rates, times etc. so she could let my bridal party know the exact amount it would be per person. The lady on the phone mentioned tips, naturally my MOH advised we will be tipping but asked if it was mandatory and if so what the amount was. That's when she was extremely rude and had a horrible attitude and basically had no interest in helping us anymore. We chalked it up to everyone has a bad day. A few weeks later we call back to make the reservations, we thought it was odd that they told us if we cancel within 24 hours they we would be charged 50% and a 20% tip, yet they didn't ask for a card number to have on file. The day before the trip we noticed it was raining a ton, so I called the stables to confirm if they would still be riding or cancelling the ride. They advised "we ride rain or shine, we would only pull the ride if the lightening is too close and it becomes dangerous. However, we have rain jackets for everyone if we need them." Cool I was super excited, we went ahead and went to our cabin in Heber, the next day we drove 55 mins one way, we get to the stables. When we got there, there were multiple people outside and not a single person greeted us, there were no horses saddled up. Finally someone comes out to walk the dog and she asks if she can help us. She couldn't even be bothered to walk up to us or stop messing with her 50 foot dog leash got 5 mins to talk to their customers. When we mentioned we were there for the sunset ride, she replied "oh no we cancelled the ride because of the rain." When asked why we were not notified she said she called all 3 rides that were scheduled (which would have been the 3 of us) and left a voicemail. We mentioned not a single one of us got a call and she said "well it's irrelevant since we cancelled the ride, we can try to reschedule you for tomorrow but that would only work if it doesn't rain at all." We said no thanks and left. There was no apology, and absolutely no accountability. I would 10/10 NOT recommend going here, especially if it's for a very special time like YOUR bachelorette trip. Or if you have to travel to do it. I noticed they are a small wedding venue as well, all I can say is RUN, don't let your special day be ruined by these horrible business owners.

This was our second time and it was just as wonderful the second time around. Last year we did the…read morehour ride. This year we did the hour and a half sunset ride which was a beautiful trail. The horses were great. Didn't need to do much, they knew the way. The guides were very friendly. Beautiful scenery.
