Take this review with a grain of salt-- it's strictly relative to all the other baitshops we've…read morebeen to. That said, the store is objectively quite good. The people who work there are nice (which is surprisingly unusual for a baitshop in Ontario), the prices are good (ditto; its a great spot to stockup on extra tackle and such en-route to your fishing spot), and the minnows are quite vigorous. In our experience driving across Ontario, you usually get to pick one of those things. No other shop we've seen has managed to hit all three. We've gotten fairly resigned to a sizable percentage (sometimes half) of the minnows dying before we get a chance to use them, but that just isn't the problem here. Every single unused minnow we bought is still alive and well in my cooler over a day later, and aside from a few that seem to have died from oxygen deprivation while we were changing fishing spots, we didn't lose any en-route. The only cons are: the place is a little bit hard to find (it's behind the Husky, and in a little corner unit that's a bit hard to spot), and occasionally their hours change a bit. So you may want to call in to be sure they're open at times. Still, the location is handy if you're going up North from the GTA to fish, and they're near Bass Pro (their reputation is good enough that the fellows at Bass Pro were the ones that originally directed us here), so its a great one-stop spot to replenish equipment as well as bait and tackle.

In that year I've sent them over a hand full of customers whom, like myself, have spent well over $1,500.00 in this store. So you could say the owner (Tony) and his assistant know me. Yesterday I walked in to buy a laser/light tactical combo, no batteries included, even though the manual says the batteries are included. No on top of that he tried charging me $10 EACH BATTERY! So I stopped and told him fairly "come on man, it's not like I'm a stranger, you can give me a couple batteries." And he replied "our prices are pretty fair, and batteries are pretty expensive, $10 each is a fair price." At that point I seen who I was really dealing with, so I said "I see how you treat your customers, I've spent over $1,000 in your store and you're about to lose a customer over batteries?" He didn't have anything to say. Honestly, I won't lie, their prices are fair, but if personally I'd rather drive 30 minutes further and pay $2-10 more on a product and give someone ELSE the business. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone I've ever met. As a matter of fact please don't bring your business here. Told ya I'd do this Tony.
