My dog wore his nails down to the bone, on what I was only able to assume caused by digging at the concrete floors from anxiety, which is a first. . I found out after the fact that when they say that they're "monitoring 24 / 7" they mean they have a camera in the common area always on, but all staff actually goes home at night and doesn't come back till morning, which is not what I thought I was paying for. CBW Boulder is incredible! I love that no prior reservations are needed for day camp, making it so easy to drop off my pup, June, whenever plans change. It's such a relief knowing she has a fun, safe place to go at a moment's notice. We love Camp Bow Wow! We brought out 2 year old terrier mix to camp so we could run errands and also so he could get some socialization. The front desk staff is very friendly, and Navi's interview went great! We've been back and love watching our pup on the live streams. Others have mentioned that Camp Bow Wow is "stark" but I totally understand and support that introducing toys, beds, treats etc could cause territorial behavior and fights. i noticed my dog was severely anxious when I picked her up from daycare and then when I checked the cams, I could never find her. I asked the manager and she said she puts the dogs in "naps" becuase of staffing issues. she said naps meant that they were alone for hours in a small isolated room or "cabin" is what they call it. I can understand being short staff and needing to make accommodations but it's terrifying that they isolated my dog without informing me, especially when my dog has anxiety issues when alone. THIS IS NOT OKAY!! they should be informing all owners when they take our dog to a different area. read more

Camp Bow Wow Boulder is simply the BEST! I have an energetic mini schnauzer who has been going to day care and overnight boarding for over a year, and he is so excited to get inside he doesn't even look back when I drop him off. Another thing I love is they have webcams that you can watch from your laptop at work to see the dogs playing inside and outside during day care. I boarded my two senior dogs for a couple of days and when I got home and was petting my dog I found a very large bruise in his neck/chest area. After I let the Camp know and asked for the cause of this, I took my dog to the vet. Vet said it was an impact bruise and that either something hit him or he was dropped. The only answer I got from the Camp staff was that they don't know what happened and that they couldn't see anything in the Camaras either. I'm outraged at the care my dog had, I won't take them back there again. And I most definitely do not recommend it. read more

We've been taking our 1.5 yr old heeler for about 6 months now and she just loves it. She gets excited when we pull up and is happy (and very tired) when I pick her up. The girls that work there are super friendly and remember our dog. While it's a little pricey, seems to be on point for that market. They also offer a dog-washing service which is convenient, although I wish they offered a punch card type option for washes (i.e. 10 washes, get the 11th free) esp since the fact that you take your dog to a place like this, means they will need a bath more often... I can't say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow! My dog has stayed here overnight several times and he's always excited to run through the gate and run around in the various indoor and outdoor play areas and visit his canine pals and friendly camp counselors. I love that the boarding is all-inclusive -- $40 per night for unlimited play time, walks and a peanut butter-filled Kong toy! I've used other boarding facilities (out of state) and was tired of the extra fees for late check outs, play packages, etc. CBW policy is "play all day and sleep all night" and I know they live up to their mission statement when my dog sleeps for 2 days after a visit. I'm not one to pamper my pet or treat him like a human, but they have doggie cams so you can view your pet live via web cam while you're away. They even gave him a snowflake iced cookie with his A+ camper report card after his Christmas week stay. read more

I can watch my puppy play utilizing the webcams and whenever I pick her up, the camp counselors tell me how much they love having my puppy here for the day. I can tell my puppy is well taken care of and happy by how excited she is when we arrive. The prices Camp Bow Wow charges are reasonable for the Boulder market and all the employees are very friendly. I walked in one day to pick up my 3 dogs during a thunderstorm and saw my older golden retriever sitting on the floor in the lap of one of the employees being held in his lap. Poor customer service with rigid and inflexible policies. Supervisor refused to give name and give my messages to the owner (her boss) upon my request after 3 incidents that occurred that were a reflection of poor customer service and poor judgement. The staff is so friendly and they seem to love my dogs. It also seems to me that the staff genuinely enjoy working at camp and they genuinely love all dogs. They greet my dogs by name and the dogs run into the building (pulling hard to get inside faster) and immediately greet the staff. I can tell by these brief interactions that the counselors love my dogs and the dogs love the counselors. Anytime I have a question, they are happy to answer- if they don't know the answer, they find someone who does. If there's a health issue with either dog, they call me right away. I like that I can check in on the dogs throughout the day via the camp cams. I feel a sense of relief when I leave my pups during the day- I know they are safe, loved, and well taken care of. I also know they've had plenty of exercise because they fall asleep right away on the way home. I would (and have!) highly recommend Boulder Camp Bow Wow because of the positive attitudes of the staff, their open communication with me, and most of all, the way they treat my dogs. Camp Bow Wow is the best . Our dogs love going there and the staff are so great and friendly. They get to play all day and really let out their energy , which means they come home exhausted . Other daycares in the area don't do that and have them in crates for most of the day . We are not from the area, and came in for an interview on Thursday for a weekend stay during a destination wedding. The interview went well, and the employees were helpful. We were told that our dog would have playtime on Saturday and Sunday from 7a-10a and 4p-7p, and this is also stated on the website. We were able to watch the live webcams for the majority of that time, and were disappointed and saddened for our dog that she appeared to get only about an hour of playtime on Saturday and none on Sunday. For the vast majority of the times which were supposed to have playtime, no dogs were visible. All that was visible were employees cleaning the indoor play areas and two dogs in kennels in indoor play area 6. Maybe this is not typical, but if something went wrong we should have been told. I warn others against leaving your dog on the weekend, if your hope is that they will not have to spend almost all their time in a kennel. read more

Worst place ever for puppies you are trying to socialize with other puppies. I was told on the phone that they would review my puppy for three hours to decide if it was a good fit. Front desk girl was very rude and gave him less than 5 minutes to get use to other dogs before saying it wouldn't work. It takes humans more than 5 minutes to get to know a new person. Same courtesy shouLd apply to puppies. I went there on recommendation of a friend and was sorely disappointed. If I could give no stars I would. The manager even told my husband that they don't take puppies who have not been in doggy daycare before. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

My dog spent 6 days, 5 nights here. Total cost, $240. That is what I agreed to. So I'm not complaining about the price. I just did not get the impression that they really knew my dog. The other boarding place had such nice and written comments to say about my pets stay. Bow wow cams really did not work well enough to discern my pet. Ok no big deal. But the two things that ticked me off. They lost my pets I'd tags, rabies included. I called to inquire and the staff member who answered my call was very apologetic and said he would get back to me later that day. Well, that was a week ago. No follow up. My dog developed an eye infection within a day from coming home. Another $64 vet bill. read more
