He said he appreciated the review although he was disappointed to see that I didn't have a stellar experience. He was mostly concerned about the fact that I was charged an additional $20 for "higher level peroxide" since this service doesn't even exist. Basically, I was duped by an employee looking to make an extra couple of bucks. He was super nice and apologetic, and indicated that he would be taking action against the employee and conducting additional trainings and oversight of the employees at this location and other sites. He even mailed me a check to make it up to me. All in all, yes, this place could use some work and I did have kind of a weird experience there. But the results were great and the owner is a nice guy who's just trying to run a business. He was very responsive to my feedback and based on my conversation with him and his sincere efforts to rectify the situation, I'll probably give Express Teeth Whitening another chance.

Then weird things started happening. I got billed for work that wasn't performed, they tried to charge me for x-rays clearly covered by my insurance, doubled-down and said I owed them money when I insisted it was covered, and then claimed "they deal with so many insurance plans they can't keep all of them straight" when I finally pulled up the plan myself and showed them. My parents got hit with "lab fees" that their insurance company said should have never been charged under their contract with the dentist. Lots of other "billing errors" that. Once is a mistake, but something was off basically every visit. Oh! And you get a "billing fee" every time their office screws up, which is fun. If I were a conspiracist, I might say that the office is struggling and they're trying to sneak in extras that patients are unlikely to notice. However, it can also be explained by a few bad hiring choices for office administrators. When I left the practice, I called to get a copy of my x-rays for the new dentist. The office assistant sent a collection of THUMBNAILS of the x-rays. Like, tiny grainy pictures for the new dentist. They got angry and insisted that they couldn't get me any other format, and that the files were just really small when exported and that they had never had an issue with it before. After some heated back and forth, the office assistant described the menu she was seeing in the software, I suggested things she could try to export them, she finally exported the images individually as high-resolution jpgs and sent them to me. Seriously, they hired morons. My family and I have left the practice.

I took advantage of one of their specials I received in the mail when I lived in Reading and went in. Everyone was kind and I felt comfortable. The dentist at the time informed me I had to have 2 wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon they sent me to was AMAZING. My trust was built with Stoneham Dental Care - to have recommended such an amazing surgeon they had to be great as well. I was a pretty basic patient - fillings here and there, cleanings every 6 mos., etc... and then I had a dental disaster in 2014. I experienced an injury resulting in a concussion, loss of a tooth and displaced front teeth. Every specialist was caring and pleasant through the entire process. They saw me cry. They saw me in pain. They saw me irrationally upset over every delay - due to the healing process, not anything they did wrong. Root canal? No issue. Implant? No issue. It wasn't their fault I was having emotional stress from the incident. I have had nothing but positive experiences with any of the staff at Stoneham Dental Care. It's a little costly, yes... but they go above and beyond.
