Just wanted to update everyone on this. A couple of weeks after I submitted my review, I was contacted by the owner of Express Teeth Whitening Center. He said he appreciated the review although he was disappointed to see that I didn't have a stellar experience. He was mostly concerned about the fact that I was charged an additional $20 for "higher level peroxide" since this service doesn't even exist. Basically, I was duped by an employee looking to make an extra couple of bucks. He was super nice and apologetic, and indicated that he would be taking action against the employee and conducting additional trainings and oversight of the employees at this location and other sites. He even mailed me a check to make it up to me. All in all, yes, this place could use some work and I did have kind of a weird experience there. But the results were great and the owner is a nice guy who's just trying to run a business. He was very responsive to my feedback and based on my conversation with him and his sincere efforts to rectify the situation, I'll probably give Express Teeth Whitening another chance. read more

Got the living social deal and came here to get my teeth whitened. This place is a bit sketchy. It's extremely hard to find and you will be called by phone with detailed instructions on how to find the place before your appointment. There are no signs and it is located above a nail salon. Once you find the appropriate door, you realize that this is business is essentially a small space with 1 employee. There is a small waiting area and right next to it is another small room with 3 chairs where the whitening is performed. After you sign a release statement, the employee brings you into one of the chairs. It's at this moment that you begin to realize that the person performing the whitening is not a professionally trained individual in this field. She handed me a Q-tip with Vitamin-E oil for me to apply to my gums. She handed me a small brush to remove debris from my teeth. She handed me the mouth piece so that I could put it in my mouth with my hands. Basically, you do everything yourself. It's clear as day that this person is not professionally trained or certified to come in contact with your teeth. It's worth noting that the employee was very nice and tried hard to make me feel comfortable, though. All aside, the results are noticeable, but don't expect a blinding white smile. Now a few weeks later, I feel my teeth have already begun to regress to their state before I had the treatment done... though that is probably more a fault of my own. With their 49$ maintenance program, I will consider coming back. read more

As a former BriteSmile customer, I was expecting something similar. They should change the name to Ghetto Teeth Whitening. A single person checks you in and whitens your teeth. I knew from the minute I walked in that it was going to be a huge disappointment. Since I had bought a reduced price voucher from amazon local, I ran with it anyway. The place is set up like office cubicles. There are TVs in each station but no headphones so you can hear your neighbor's tv. The girl administering the treatment had about as much experience with teeth whitening as I do with flying a rocket ship. There is no suction available like in a dentist office do you are given paper towels to wipe any drool. Don't get sucked into the $20 remineralization add-on. From what I read online, it's a crock. Your teeth need to do it on their own. My teeth are slightly whiter but no whiter than I could have gotten with at-home trays. The grossest part of the experience was rinsing and spitting into a Solo cup. Classy. Won't be going back there again. read more

After reading previous reviews, I was expecting a lot less than what I got. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the office and the kindness of the employee there. She did a great job, got my teeth two shades whiter and there was no pain or discomfort. It's definitely a teeth whitening center, only, not a dental office. Don't expect spa treatment, and you'll get nice white teeth :) read more

highly difficult to find office 1 employee handles intake and whitening after you sign a release, she motions you to 1 of 2 dirty chairs gives you a bib and has you apply some vitamin E to your lips offers an overfilled peroxide mouthguard + large yellow glasses positions the UV light so close to your mouth, it touches your lips (gross) 3 times i moved the light off my lips when she walked away but upon her return, she always slid it back over my lips (eww) during whitening, i counted 7 grease stains on the large lamp she also left the hall door wide open so anyone passing by could see in peroxide does the job, but not sure it was worth the unhygienic experience read more

I was expecting a more professional (and cleaner!) operation. The process didn't seem to do much of anything for my teeth, tho my teeth are not all that stained. Teeth did come out a little whiter...but I could not stand sitting there for 22 minutes each time having to hold my spit in my mouth. I was surprised there was no suction tube you just had to hold it and spit it out at the end. Not sure if I would do it again read more

NOT SANITARY AT ALLl! This can't be legally licensed operation! There is no cover on the light. You have to hold your mouth open in a smile - no appliance is offered, so your lips - and the lips of everyone else before and after you are touching the light fixture! This is not a dental office, so you spit into a cup - no sink. You apply Vitamin E yourself with a q-tip. That means that you are touching the surface of the bottle, putting in your mouth, touching the surface of the bottle again, putting in your mouth again. I was appalled when the tech came and got the VitE bottle out of the cube for the next person to use. So again, you are sharing mouth bacteria with everyone who came before an after you. I couldn't see any difference, but I didn't need a lot of whitening anyhow. The risk is TOO HIGH. Contamination is 100% probability. And if the person before you had any kind of abrasion in their mouth, you could be exposed not only to their saliva, but what is in their bloodstream. The risk is NOT worth the Living Social deal. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! I bought a Groupon for $49 in May 2013. for this location. It was supposed to be for a treatment valued at $149.00. I called and set up an appointment. I had great difficulty locating the office, which is in a dark back corner of Cummings Park in an unmarked office. When I finally arrived there, there was one young girl on staff, late teens early twenties. She appeared very unprofessional, was not wearing a name tag, or a lab coat, did not introduce herself, and there were no credentials or a license posted anywhere. The office space itself, while not unclean, was very old looking and not exactly sanitary. She sat me in one of the cubicles in front of a TV and explained that the process would consist of three 20 minute applications of peroxide and a blue light. After applying the peroxide gel to the appliance with a Q-tip, she handed it to me and had me place it in my mouth myself. She then gave me a pair of eye protector sunglasses, that were not exactly clean. I sat with a blue light placed very close to my mouth, which I did not feel was sanitary, for 20 minutes. After the timer went off, she came over with a big red plastic solo cup with water in it, (the kind used at parties) she asked me drink from the cup, rinse my mouth and then SPIT back into the cup! I was taken aback by the lack of a sink and the overall unsanitary conditions of this establishment and apparently, "teeth whitening professionals" aren't required to have credentials, a degree or training of any sort. Worse yet, there was a hand written sign posted saying "tips are appreciated" REALLY?!! To add insult to injury, my teeth were no whiter when I left than when I came in. Crest Whitestrips worked 10X better for me than this "professional whitening system". Actually, I have bought a peroxide whitener kit at Wal-Mart for $5.00 that worked exactly the same as this procedure, which is supposedly worth $149.00. I expected the setting to be more like a dentist office, at best, and at least, a professionally trained staff. This was neither. If you would like white teeth, see your dentist, He/she are licensed professionals and must maintain all sorts of standards to protect the client and avoid the spread of disease. Better yet, go to Wal-Mart and get some White Strips, pay the $50.00 you will definitely get better results. AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! read more

I went to the Norwood office: One week later, my teeth look exactly as this did BEFORE going in for the whitening treatment. I will never go back to this place and would very much like a refund! It was completely unsanitary and located in a whole in the wall. The "treatment" consists of a non-professioal 1st giving you vitamin e to put on your gums to protect them, 2nd giving you a mouth guard with whitening stuff in it where you then put it in your mouth and sit in front of a wobbly blue fluorescent light for 45 minutes... all while watching Divorce Court and listening to the person, who mind you is the only person there *working desk and on you* talk on the phone. Oh, and to clean your mouth out after the treatment, she handed me 2 solo cups; one with water to rinse and one to spit into. COMPLETELY GHETTO! Next time, I will spend my money on a real place or perhaps, a mouthguard to just do it myself! read more

Don't waste your money on this place! First of all it seems to go under two different names....is this Express Teeth Whitening Center or Million Dollar Smile? I purchased a 1 hr pkg through Million Dollar Smile's website and ended up directed to this office which took forever to find because there are no signs outside and it's located on a 2nd flr above a nail salon. I had a 9am appt that I had booked online (as did another lady who was standing outside their door for half an hour hoping that someone would actually show up to open!) Nobody showed up so at 9:35am I decided to leave to run another errand that I had to do. I called at 10:05 to see if they finally decided to open and someone actually answered the phone and acted as if someone had been there since 9am! Bullcrap!! I went back and decided to still see if this process worked and as another reviewer stated I had to do pretty much everything myself: rubbed my teeth with a cloth on my finger, applied vitamin E oil to gums with Q-tips and then placed a rubber thing in my mouth that was lined with some kind of gel. A blue light was placed in front of my mouth as I sat there trying to keep my mouth open into a smile. I was told to rinse once and then we started the process over again. Once everything was removed from my mouth the second time I sat with just the blue light in front of my mouth for 5 mins or so (this was supposedly to make the peroxide work even more or something!) I'm not convinced that anything happened to my teeth at all. I think they look exactly the way they looked before I started the process! At the beginning the person instructing me chose the color she thought my teeth were before starting (not letting me see that comparison-I don't think my teeth were the color she chose!) but then at the end she claimed that my teeth were now five shades lighter and would continue to lighten over the next couple of days. I don't think any of that has happened! read more
