Chicken inside was good but...need....queso/cheese dip....por favor.
Jodie C.

I ate here before, just prior to Covid. So this is second time. - I give a 3 as it's not one of my top 3 Mexican favorites. But it's also definitely not one of my bottom 3, worst Mexican restaurant experiences. They use a lot of Yellow sharp cheddar cheese instead of the queso. (Cheese dip) as some places call it. Even on my chicken chimichanga, it was naked of sauce but with guacamole, lettuce tomato on top. Usually, there queso Glazed over the top and makes the dish much more tasty and less dry. The chicken inside the chimichanga wrap was good. Queso makes it better. Rice was ok. After 4 bites I needed more substance and flavor. It got dry quick. No bell peppers cut up and tossed i to it or corn? Beans were ok. They were not the best or worst. Service was ok. No complaints. Large area. Youre not cramped in there rubbing shoulders. Little decor around the room. I DO very much enjoy hispanic playlist while I'm eating. Makes me feel good. I would eat here again. I'm a sucker for Mexican foods. They have a Mexican Pizza, I wouldn't mind trying, and I'll ask if they can make a veggie quesadilla.

Shrimp fajita burrito

Our friend moved to Berryville and she kept raving about this place, so we decided to check out out. Food (5/5): First of all, his place has MOLE!! Like, that rare elusive yummy rich chocolatey and chili sauce that is basically impossible to find (it's not "American enough" to make On the Border or Uncle Julio's menu). The chips and salsa were standard fare, the white queso was meh. The LARGE jalapeño margarita as definitely amazing! (get it with salt rim, on the rocks.). Hubby got the taco and enchilada combo and was satisfied. However, the HIT of the day was the amazing cheese enchiladas with MOLE sauce. Did I mention how much I love mole? If you have never had it and like FLAVOR, then you should get it. You are welcome. Service (5/5): Kenya was amazing. She took our order with tons of substitutions and didn't make a single mistake! Even better, they were able to make anything possible, like me asking for cheese enchilada (2 enchilada combo meal) with mole sauce on top (even though Mole only appears as Mole Pollo platter.) And the best, they didn't charge me extra! They we're even able to mix combos, like give my friend the 2 enchilada combo (one chicken suiza and one cheese mole), again, no uncharge. Seriously amazing. Atmosphere (3/5): This is right behind the normal Main Street of Berryville and the inside was a bit plain. The weather was nice so we sat outside on the 4 table patio. The view was our car in the parking lot, which was good, since we had to pay the meter from digging out 2 quarters hiding under the car seats. Meters, really? It's 2021, people!!!

Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Best tacos in the area continue to be Los Altos de Jalisco in Winchester. I said what I said.

What an amazing find! We were on our way to DC and found this Mexican restaurant. I was unsure if…read moreit's be the typical place with only street food, but it was spectacular! My kids of course got tacos, but I got some enchiladas verdes from the lunch menu that were SO good! Sadly i don't have a picture of those! Everything had so much meat in it, they weren't at all stingy with the sides nor cilantro. When you arrive, they give you a free order of home made tortilla chips and sauce that was so good! The service was really good too. They took our order quickly and were aware of our needs. The ambiance of the place was very latino, with TVs with low volume and the disposition to play a soccer game of you wanted the bathrooms were clean and sticked, which is one of the first things i go and check out with kids ... Overall, great experience!! I highly recommend it!!

I was disappointed in my recent visit to Los Potrillos. This was one of my favorite spots to stop…read moreon road trips... but it's gone downhill and fast. For starters, the bathroom had 1.5/2 broken toilets and the floor was flooded with mystery liquid... I could barely make it to the sink without almost slipping. It also smelt horrible and the bathroom was legitimately falling apart. Now onto the service... it took them 30 minutes to take our order (and it wasn't that crowded). The server was not friendly either. However, since they were out of guac she did give us free queso which was very nice. The chips and salsa were excellent, as was the Mexican rice. My $15 grilled chicken quesadilla on the other hand... was sub par and small (see photos). The grilled chicken itself was somewhat stiff. Some pieces had only chicken... others only cheese. This was discomforting. Where is the fusion of flavors? Anyways, this is not the restaurant that I remember.

So, this place had awesome service. The waitress was polite, attentive and yet her broken English worked perfectly for the position she was in. She knew the menu and came back to check on us more than a few times. 4/5 stars for the service. She was the best thing about the place. For the food, 1 star. The pictures on the yelp site showing the food explain it all. Notice some images show the food with excess liquid, I mean watery beans without any flavor? And then the rice was served without any seasoning. The guacamole came with huge chunks of tomatoes and it was hard to separate the avocado from the tomatoes. When we sat the waitress brought out chips and salsa. Half the chips were going stale. The salsa was good but more of a liquid consistency. We asked the chips be sent back and new ones brought out. The waitress did without a complaint. Then the things went downhill fast. My wife ordered the Chicken Fajitas for two, "Meh." I asked her about the beans and rice, "Meh." At least the margarita was good. It was sweet, but that is common and can depend on someone else's palate. She requested the corn tortillas because she forgot to order them at the beginning. The waitress brought them out without a problem. They tasted, "Meh." I ordered the Deluxe Burrito, it came out looking like a Picasso done by a three year old, filled with beef from a chef who used to work at the Bell. I tried to eat it but, "Meh." Long and short, nothing had seasoning unless it had the wrong seasoning and nothing was done right. This place deserves a 1 star.
