I recently visited this salon for a UV gel fill. I didn't make an appt, but didn't need one as they weren't busy when I arrived. I was seated and chose my color. The other tech came over with the color I had selected polished on her nail trying to convince me it was the same as the swatch from the book. It was not. They couldn't do the glaze nails I had first requested. After going back and forth, I decided on a color. While getting my service two other nail techs surrounded my table, all talking to each other. One of them was even bent over with her elbows inches from me chatting away. When it came time to polish, it was again, a completely different color. I let her finish, tipped her and left. I returned two days later to have them fixed. They were ridiculously thick, the nude color I had chosen was off and actually was a peach color. When I went In at 2:45 pm, there were three people working. The woman told me they wouldn't be able to help me today, and I'd have to come back. When I explained I couldn't come back due to my own schedule, she basically said sorry, I'm the only one who knows how to use the tools for that service. Lies-the other woman working today was also there doing nails using the "tools" when I was in two days ago. I will not return, and will tell everyone I know to avoid the salon at all costs. I can live with and deal with a lot...These nails were horrendous. I went to the salon down the street (Oasis) and they did a fabulous job! Avoid Camillus nails and spa!!! came to salon without an appt around noon. they asked me to come back at 1pm . I did . They said it would be a few minutes which turned into another 30 min. They sat me at a table and assigned a guy to do my nails. He was annoyed that he had to move from where he was sitting and come over to where I was seated. He was yelling at the woman who assigned him to me, then slammed his stuff where I was sitting. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! This place is absolute garbage. Went in for a French manicure and the woman I had kept taking off without a word, kept scraping my fingers, my French tips were sloppy and uneven, and when I asked her to fix one of my nails that was significantly worse than the rest she "fixed" it by making the French tip even more sloppy and uneven. She also didn't ask me if I wanted a massage, just disappeared without a word and out of nowhere started massaging my shoulders. The massage itself would have been fine had she asked and had I not been completely unaware she was standing behind me. She also was way too aggressive and kept pulling my hair while also hurting my back. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if I could give them no stars I would. read more

I went to Camillus Nails & Spa for over 12 years and all of a sudden my gel nails were lifting, when i asked why, they said I was to rough on them, I have had them for 12 years and at 74 I'm to rough on them, they were using cheap product on my nails, I will never go back there again, plus they never had time for my appointment, I always had to wait. The last time I went in there they said I needed an appointment, no one was busy, everyone was sitting at their table, and no one would help me, my nails were subject to an infection because they were lifting. I was suppose to get the senir discount but it never happened. Will never go back there they keep texting me asking when I am coming back, never. read more

I am a senior and the salon offers20% off a regular pedicure for seniors . I got a regular pedicure and a callus removal. Because I added something to the regular pedicure the girl would not give me 20%. She said next time just order a regular with no callus but there will not be a next time. She criticized the color I chose saying that next time I should go darker and she also asked how long it had been since I had my nails done because they were in bad shape. Very, very disappointed with my return visit here..I had been going here since they opened quite a few years ago. I had been getting increasingly dissatisfied about 1 1/2 yrs ago, I think maybe the management had changed and one of the things that bothered me was how I felt like my services were rushed..even when there was no one waiting. Also, it it not very good to have customers sitting down before you for a simple pedicure, being still in their chair when you are done! You can see your nail technician is skipping steps and shortening things to rush you out. I decided to give then another try today since my new nail place was busy with a 15 - 20 minute wait. I walked into Camillus Nails & Spa and there were at least 4 employees not working on anyone. I got a very nice lady but my pedicure was not good at all. I picked a more expensive pedicure to treat myself. First my nail tech asked if I wanted my toenails cut, I said very little and made a small motion with my fingers. My toenails were cut so short she pinched my toes several times clipping them, I thought at one point she cut me! Then on these way too short nails, she filed, she was literally filing my skin. My nails go deep in the corners and occasionally a tech clips the corners a little/ She cut one of my big toenails at such a steep angle that it appears half my toenail is gone. I would not let her cut the corner on my other big toe. I am so furious. The polish job is kind of sloppy too, not cleaned along all the sides like it should be. She was so sweet and nice and the massage was great and all that, but I am just so annoyed. I spoke to the lady who appeared to be the manager and she was sorry, apologized to me and said perhaps my technician did not understand english so well. This is so what I didn't want to hear, please at least make sure your nail people understand the words relating to their job, I am so against stereotypes, but the manager just confirmed what people joke about. I went next door to McDonalds after and complimented the worker on her nails, and asked her if they were done at Camillus Nails & Spa....she said no no no, she would never go there. Wish I had gone to McDonalds BEFORE I went to have my nails done and I would not have walked in camillus nails & spa! Beware. read more

Do NOT GO HERE!!!! Biggest SCAM! I went there today with an appointment at noon for a pedicure and manicure. My friend joined me only getting a manicure. It was both our first times and we made that very clear when looking in the book for what we wanted. I got a honey and silk spa pedicure and both my friend and I received the lavender spa manicure w/gel. In the book it said $35 for that service and I assumed an up-charge for gel but nothing up surd. The lady who did my service told me $125 at first and then at the end handed me a bill for $130 , the $125 at the beginning included gel with the pedicure and I decided not to do that just do the gel with my manicure. I assumed the price would go down not up. They charged me $130 for the honey and silk pedicure and lavender manicure which in the book said $35 lavender manicure and $60 for the silk and honey pedicure, as well as charging my friend $70 for her manicure. Not to our knowledge they tried to charge both of us double for another manicure ($35) for getting gel polish. When we both questioned them in total confusion and the fact I received a cheaper price with more services at the beginning, the owner argued with us and in my eyes was trying to pull one under us with the absurd charges. When we explained that this should have been told to us at the beginning that by getting a gel lavender manicure you had to pay for gel manicure and lavender manicure we would have certainly not gone here! At any other place you can get the EXACT same services for half the price!!!! The owner was very aggressive with both my friend and I throwing money back at her and telling us not to say anything. We both work in guest service and never experienced such rude behavior. Just a warning if going here or plan to, I am most certain they are scamming the customers in paying more with outrageous prices and not communicating that with people and I'm hoping there will more people who question the pricing and customer service! There's a few things you need to know about this place before you go: not everyone speaks English fluently (although that's not a deterrence for me and shouldn't be for anyone else) and there's a high probability you will have a guy doing your nails (I'm not used to this so it was something that surprised me - there were definitely more men working here than women). I needed a pedicure so I called ahead to ask about the price and whether I needed to make an appointment. The lady who answered didn't seem to really understand fully and asked me to make an appointment even though I was going there the middle of a weekday. When I showed up, it was clear that I did not need one as they didn't even check me in or look at an appointment book. This place does get pretty busy though (even when I was there on a weekday afternoon) so maybe you do for busier times of the day? I'm not sure. The interior is clean and has tranquil decor. Strangely, there's no music (or none that I could really hear) so it was a bit awkward to just sit there in silence listening to everyone getting their nails done. I was a bit worried about a guy doing my toes but he actually did a really good job. My massage chair stopped working after a few minutes for no apparent reason and he kindly fixed it for me when I brought it to his attention. Bottom line: $25 for a pedicure seems high (although it seems to be the going rate for this area?) but it has lasted way longer than a normal one does for me and seemed to dry really fast so kudos to the pedicurist. I would probably go back there for a basic mani/pedi since from the previous reviews, they seem to scam (or misunderstand?) people who get the specials. read more

They do not do acrylic here, only gel which is fine but they are extremely expensive. I received just a regular new set of gel nails, unpolished, and it was $90. Went there ask for fill in ,they looked at my nails and said they only carry powder no acrylic and gel. Sat down to get my nails done and the man shook his head the whole time because I asked for powder then he slapped on a coat of paint and shook his head the whole time and had other people come look at my nails that worked there. The pedicure was fine (although the pink in the vial came out orange on my nails - but I chose the color so I take responsibility for that). The manicure has a lot of bubbles, which shouldn't happen at a professional place. But my main complaint is that they started the polish 25% up my nails from my cuticles so my nails are only 75% done. I don't know if this is a way to get me to come back sooner to have them redone or if it was an oversight - but either way it's not acceptable for the price paid. read more

This place is the worst. First they do not soak your hands prior to removing the cuticle. Secondly be prepared to pay at least $10 more than you would anywhere else. I went here today to get just a regular manicure, I was told that to take the gel off of my nails it would be another $10... But if I got another gel it would have been for free. All I had to say was WHAT?! A bottle of acetone MAYBE costs two dollars, hell a gallon of acetone doesn't even cost $10. So where do you get off charging me for a service when I got the gel there and am getting a manicure. I said forget it. I will never go back. Plenty of fair price manicures available elsewhere. I have been going to this nail salon for the past two years and the staff has always been friendly and inviting. No appointment is necessary but is a good idea as they can get very busy. Gel manicures last approximately two weeks with no peeling or chipping. The pedicure service is wonderful and of course the hot towel massage is a great treat! LULU gave me a manicure today. She talked to a co-worker in what sounded like Chinese, while she worked on my nails. She was looking away from my nails as she pushed back the cuticles and filed them (Ouch!). The shape of some nails was crooked. My friend who was with me got a hot towel massage, as usual. I did not get a massage. I gave a tip up front before the polish was on my nails, so I wouldn't have to reach into my wallet with a fresh manicure (tips are "cash only"). Maybe LULU thought she didn't need to worry about providing good service since she had already received her (undeserved) tip. It's a good salon. I've been there before, and would go again. Buyer Beware!!!!!! My daughters were totally ripped off by this place, my daughter asked the price was told it and she repeated it back and the man responded yes. She had taken her sister there for her 16th birthday, thinking she was spending $34 on their "special" instead it was $140. Obviously these were two young girls that were easy marks. Called the owner to complain and was told it has happened before that is why they have price books, well if someone asks a price they are not going to look it up in the book, and the white board in the front had the special on it but no price listed. Whole thing is pretty fishy, great way to rip people off by blaming it on the language barrier. The owner said he would call me back which of course never happened. Definitely the nicest nail salon on this side of town. Lovely atmosphere. Reasonable prices. And they don't do acrylic, so it doesn't have that nail salon smell. I got a gel manicure. It cost $35, but the technician was very detailed and did a great job. I'm sure it will last at least two weeks. Today, after I asked for only a filing of my nails, the man helping me cut my nails so short that they bled. He did not use all the products that are typically used for the pedicure, & the polish was smeared all over my toes.
