We ended up getting a chocolate cake, variety of cookies, hybrid donut/muffin, a tarty tart, and my favorite European bake good, a marzipan truffle roll. Why can't I find a marzipan truffle roll in the States?! If you know where I can find such delectable treat, please holla at cha girl! This place is popping, I would go back if I could. Tip... I should really start getting all my bread from these guys again as it was lovely and superbly cheap for fresh baked deliciousness. In the mornings they have little breakfast things like croissants and pain au chocolats and sausage rolls and bacon sandwiches and all are gloriously inexpensive. They also have a whole load of filled rolls and will make odd things if you have particular requests. The Chelsea buns are very nice and the tea cakes also. Oh, and the custard tarts. Occasionally there are mornings when my brother goes to pick up a bunch of bagels from this place and stops by my house out of the blue to drop a few of them off...I love those mornings. An unexpected bagel in the mouth for breakfast, smothered in butter or cream cheese and smoked salmon is like a little taste of heaven (in my mouth). The rye bread is also delicious from here and makes me feel a little nostalgic as we always used to get it from here when I was a child. You can get them to slice it for you, but I prefer to just get the loaf because then you can cut super thick slices :) There are a selection of cakes and pastries here too, they look yummy, although I'm usually focussed on the bagels. BUT I have had the apple doughnuts - fresh soft doughy-doughnuts filled with big slices of soft, cooked apple...mmmm.

We had ordered this as a gift for my brother and his wife's wedding present and it was nothing short of utterly embarrassing! We called them straight away (on the wedding day) and the lady we spoke to advised no one could help and we have to email our complaint. - we did this straight away and also attached pictures Almost a week later we get an auto response saying there is nothing they can do because we didn't retain the cake and the box??? What exactly did they expect us to do? Not serve the cake at the wedding!? As embarrassing and damaged as it was, we had to fix it up as best we could ( some relatives drove to a bakery and picked up some decorative cake toppers ) and we made the best we could of it. We have been asking to speak to the manager but we are told there is no management, we called to speak to senior staff and a member of staff hung up on us after we explained everything today. They are not willing to make right this massive wrong. The bride and groom looked so disappointed in the cake, the caterers who received the cake on the day were so shocked they actually took pictures straight away and sent them to us to ask if this was actually what we asked for! We can't get back the special moment of the bride and groom cutting their cake- they have been robbed and we have been left mortified all because this scam of a company wants to hide behind their terms and conditions that require us to retain the cake and box as it is so they can inspect and examine it!! How can they expect us to not cut the cake on the day of the wedding when we had no choice! They refused to send anyone to rectify it on the day and we were told no one could help. Only a week later are we told we needed to keep the cake and box to move forward with a complaint even though we have images of everything. If you are hoping for a cake that not only matches what you asked for, that shows up on time, and shows up undamaged, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We are very sorry and regretful to have ever used this company for such a special occasion

Was then also refused a refund, unless I brought back 90% of the cake (there wasn't even 90% intact anyway). I live really far away from them, so can't bring it back. They refused to collect it. I was also then hung up on by their staff and they never picked up again. At no point did I even receive an apology. I have never been so disappointed by any company ever. Absolutely appalling customer service. Spend your money somewhere else.

I stood next to a man who picked up around five separate loaves of wheat (and one bagette) in both hands in order to caress their middles and squeeze gently on their crusts. At one point it looked as if he were going to bring a loaf up to his ear. I expect he was hoping to hear the ocean. After all the fingering, he actually bought one! I bought a small, bagged rye loaf for £1.55. After watching the 'Bread Whisperer' do his thing on the wheat loaves, I left the naked bagels untouched.
