I'm not sure I like the sourdough aspect of these donuts. We tried the vanilla and at 4.75, it was pricey for the size. It was also really cold.( granted, it was 40F outside). Decadence. Pure decadence is the only way to describe this awesome little doughnut & coffee shop. The doughnuts are the best I've had since being in London, and being from LA, that is saying something. Their flavors are not only exotic, but they come in many different varieties and combinations. My favorites are the Dulce de Leche with Banana & Cinnamon Crumble, the Peanut Butter & Jelly with Fruit Compote, the Banana Cream with a Sea Salt Caramel Crumble, and the Crème Brûlée with Vanilla Custard. Even the ones you would expect to be boring pack a little something extra to make it special, like the Sugar Ring with Sri Lankan Cinnamon, or the Lemon-Thyme with Beetroot Sourdough. The fruity ones are great, too. If you're looking for something that tastes a little lighter, go for the Watermelon + Lime or the Mango & Apple. The coffee is amazing, too. So great, in fact, this was only the second time during my month in London when I didn't need to add sugar to my latte to make it delicious. They have other drinks, too, however, organic teas and including a soothing soy chai latte that calms the soul. The best part: While many doughnut shops claim to have exciting flavors, most of them just end up tasting like sugar; while these delicacies have very strong notes of what they're meant to taste like. So go ahead. Give yourself a Doughtox. We all need one, once in a while. read more

Absolutely clean place, professional and sweet servers and trendy beverages- even kombucha... but for 3.85 pounds a doughnut!! That translates to Over $5 a doughnut. For one!! By far our favorite doughnut place in London! We have a few favorite spots back home in the states, but this place is a really strong competitor. The dough is light, fluffy, and flavored well to support the icing and fillings. The fillings were creamy, decadent, and well-balanced. The icing was impressive as it dried well without flaking off completely, not sickly sweet, and played off the flavors of both the filling and the dough really well. I generally don't eat the whole doughnut, but this time I went in for seconds. Yum! I think it's a great place if you get the right flavors. We really liked the two that we took pictures of here, but we weren't a fan of some of the more standard flavored doughnuts that we got. read more

I was walking around Shoreditch when I stumbled upon this donut shop that looked too intriguing (well...hip and new) to pass up, and a line of people started trickling in. I did a quick Yelp search and saw the really positive reviews and those were what tipped me into trying it, despite the fact that I was trying to generally be smart about how I spend my money during travels. There's also a sign about Buzzfeed saying it's the number one British dessert to eat before you die. (Ok, I was very wary about the very broad claim.) Instant regret after the first bite! I got the classic vanilla glazed. Simple enough so you'd think they could execute this. But to my surprise and confusion, the donut was stale and cold. I gave it a few more bites just to make sure I wasn't missing something. It was like eating bread on an airplane. Not only was the texture off, but there was also nothing special or rich about the frosting. You could pick up better pastries off the shelves of Sainsbury and Tesco. I'm all for cute shops, but this felt like such a facade, including the donut itself that was all air and no substance. And if anything, just bugs me that this shop is cashing in, in an area that's becoming so gentrified with some subpar, trendy food stops. read more

Pretty weak. Donuts are my thing and I looked all over London for the best donuts I could find. Based off of other reviews I figured Crosstown had to be the place. After going to the disappointingly vegan-only location near Oxford St, I found this location. The donuts were decent, but for the price I expected a lot better. I found them to be way more dense than I would have like and the plain glaze was overly sweet in the dough. I've never though the sugar glaze would be the thing to tone down the sweetness. I was also disappointed by how many of their donuts were sold out at such a busy location on a Saturday. I figure they would have planned for this. On the plus side, the staff was very polite and had a smile on their faces the entire time I was there. Even with the more difficult costumer in front of me, they were always extremely professional. read more

This place wins for unique flavours and cute decor. Everything is donut shaped with a bite taken out including the stools. We went with a beetroot and thyme donut which was quite lovely. The flavours came through and were not overbearing. I was a bit nervous I would be eating a vegetable donut but it turned out nicely. read more

Great selection of doughnuts, from classic glazed to more experimental ones like creme brûlée. Their most popular doughnut is a square shaped peanut butter and jelly doughnut--peanut butter glaze with berry compote in the middle topped with toasted peanuts on top. Yammi Doughnuts from the famous only-doughnuts chain Crosstown. Recently opened their tiny shop at the busy Brick Lane road. Excellent quality doughnuts; don't expect the usual sweet bread in all of these doughnuts-instead in some of them (i.e. in the caramel salted banana one) they use brown bread that is more salty, more normal bread stuffed with jams to die for. read more

This place has the absolute BEST branding. The donuts looked amazing. Fell short in the flavor department but again, looked amazing! The decor is exact and kitschy. Love it! I've wanted to track down these doughnuts for ages and was very happy to stumble across them at Spitalfields market! They all looked amazing and I decided to go for the peanut butter and jam flavor. It was very 'jammy' but that's what I love, so it went down very nicely. The doughnut however was more cakey and dense than I expected so that's why it lost a star for me, but that's personal taste, all round it was a great doughnut and I can't wait to try more flavors! I must say I was rather impressed by the bags that you get your doughnut in to takeaway, they were great as normally fillings and toppings can seep through bags, these bags were thicker than usual which I really appreciated! read more

I think Crosstown doughnuts is my second home. They offer a contemporary twist on the infamous doughnut. The sourdough base alone is quite something! My favourite is the Chocolate Truffle Ring Doughnut which melts in your mouth and is full of rich flavour, which I decided to pick after spending close to 15 minutes deciding which one to take home, you are spoilt for choice. I'm a regular at Crosstown doughnuts and have two more flavours left to try on my list. read more

I kinda consider myself to be a bit of a donut snob. There is a running joke at home that in Vancouver if it's no Cartem's I don't want to know about it. This place is very comparable to. Depending on when you go selections can be hit and miss. I stuck with a simple sugar ring as they call it which is just a plain donut just rolled in coarse sugar and a creme brule. The creme brule was okay. There was a shell on it and the inside was just a yeast donut. The sugar donut was interesting in the sense that it was a bit dense compared to what is available at home. Had the Black Forest. I thought it's a bit sweet but the fiancé loved it. I do appreciate the sophisticated recipe (raisin, nuts, white chocolate etc.) of such a donut relative to the Dunkin's. Decoration and music are modern and relaxing. I would definitely see myself a frequent visitor for weekend reading over a tea here should I live in London. Balancing all, 4.5 stars. read more
