**WARNING** & **BEWARE** If you love and care for your pup and its well being, then I urge you DO NOT bring take them here! This place is a DEATH trap! I have taken my pup here on and off consistently over the last 2 years. I have often have had to take breaks from this place due to various incidents. Bites missing patches of hair, and my dog often being extremely hungry and thirsty when returning from there as if he hasn't eaten or had anything to drink at all. Most recently I came to pick up my pup, not knowing they have changed the hours again ( as they often due to lack of employees) to find that my dog was in alone in "isolation" after being attacked and bitten by another dog. A piece of my dogs ear had been bitten off, by what is obliviously a bigger dog, which whom he should have never been left alone with unattended. My pup is a loving, fun and playful 2year old Pug, without an a aggressive bone in his body. They did not notify me of the attack and injury! Although this was an EMERGENCY, in which they allow pick-up, they tried to hide the injury! When I requested to know the details of the injury, they could NOT tell me ANYTHING! They did not have any answer because they were not present when the injury occurred! They could not tell me what happened, or who the attacking dog was. (that would be necessary to know for future stays) but they are completely clueless because they don't watch over the dogs. You drop your pup off and they go in a cage, while the staff goes to stay in a separate area behind the building of where they store the dogs, or they leave! (which I have witnessed They DO NOT watch over the dogs to ensure that there are no incidents! They DO NOT have cameras monitoring your dog while in there care! They take zero preventative measures to ensure your animals safety, despite knowing the various kinds of dogs they keep in there facility. If injury occurs to your animal here; including death, they will tell you" well you signed a liability waiver and this is a open range facility". You will not be granted access to see the inhumane conditions in which they are not caring for your pet or it's well being! Because they are traitorous and beneath most loving pet owners standards. They did not offer any assistance with my $360 vet bill despite my dog permanently having a fraction of his ear missing! They had no care or concern, and turned a blind eye to a loyal customers. Never returned my phone care or showed any concern. The owner ROBERT GRAHAM refused to speak to me to avoid accountability and forced me to talk only to his employee who has no authority or can provide zero resolve. I take partial responsibility knowing the conditions of this place and taking him back despite the previous incidents which occurred in their care that they had no care or concern about! Just pay more and go to a reputable, dog sitter or day care! There are plenty of places! They didn't even bother trying to clean the wound with soap and water and applying antibiotics, they provided zero care! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY for & this place is the cheapest prices around for a reason!!! Don't risk you let's safety and we'll being! We left our dogs here while we went on a road trip (Doberman and chihuahua mix) and we came back to two very sick dogs. Our Doberman had lost about 10 lbs and was completely out of it when we picked him up, would even look us in the eye. Rob is always so excited to see our german Shepard and 2 pugs (one of which he introduced us to and helped us rescue!). Initially this was not my first choice to go to because the reviews compared to others. So I went to another business that's supposed to be "positive." Unfortunately, they were so fearful of my dog because of his breed. Never really gave him a chance. Being an American Bully, I knew the risk but he comes from a house full of people and kids. So I went on a search and finally took him here. Let me tell you, Robert and Jerel were great! We told them our fears and he said we will work with him and he's just a dog. 4 days with them and they mentioned so much positives and loved that he was a love bug. He's not perfect because he's still socializing and they mentioned things he's working on but also the fault of the other dogs. I've called to let them know if my schedule changes, and Daisy is always clean when I pick her up -your pup will play hard and be lazy/restful when you get home! This is always better for us than a needy dog when you're getting back from vacation & wanting to unpack, do laundry, or run errands! -She's always wanting to go back! My dog remembers places she loves and people who love on her. She gets super excited, similar behavior she gets going to the dog park, when we pull up to Calvin's Place. -Prices haven't changed in the 7 years we've been a customer! Bast is a 75 pound mix who loves going to see Robert and his friends at Calvin's Place. He was timid and shy with other dogs and going in general when we started bringing him 8 months ago, which makes sense because it was a whole new place to him. Over a couple months and several trips, he started to love going and now he will jump out of the car and run to the door for someone to open it for him. I've read a lot of reviews that talked about dogs having issues when they came home. Firstly, you just put your dog under stress by boarding them somewhere completely new to them. Of course they will have bowel issues because they probably didn't eat much while they were there, and then they got home and gorged. Stress will do that to dogs, and as a dog owner you should know that even the slightest change in some dog's routines will set off their GI tract. Secondly, your dog is around other dogs - you should expect that it is the same if you were to go to a dog park. They will play, and sometimes it's rough. Thirdly,not all vaccinations cover all the bases, especially when your dog may have the live virus or another dog has it from getting their shots. Sorry, but like at a dog park it isn't controlled. Finally, in the paperwork you sign, it says to not bring personal items for the dogs other than food - it helps keep areas cleaner and the dogs probably shouldn't have toys/beds of their own to get protective over. The dogs are treated well and have lots of interaction with the care team there. The other day I walked in and looked for one of them and up pops one of the younger gentleman from the floor in the middle of a pack of dogs. He'd been on the floor playing with them. If you are worried about your dog coming here, you don't own a dog - you have a "special pet" who would do better with an in home sitter. read more

The staff here is excellent and went beyond my expectations when I was moving from Washington to Georgia my dog stayed there almost 3 months and Robert(owner) managed to help me get my dog to the SeaTac airport so our family can fly out with the dog. Bossy is my brother's 6 month old pup weighing in at 53lbs and growing. She is such a sweetheart but FULL of energy and she hasn't realized her size yet. I am only giving this one star because zero isn't an option. I brought my dog to this location for five days. In five days he lost 15 pounds. When returned to me he was bleeding from his leg, face and mouth. He had scratches and cuts all over his face. A day later his face became swollen and when I brought him to the vet they stated it was likely caused from a dog bite. When I called Calvin's Place to ask what happened they denied any wrong doing. I initially was really excited to bring my Aussie there since it was close to work . It had really good reviews at the time (2020). My pup was excited to go to daycare the first couple of weeks. They charge $20 a day which is super reasonable so that is the only reason I thought about giving 2 stars. After two weeks, my Aussie who loves everyone and all dogs started to get really scared to go inside. But bringing my dog in I quickly starting hearing the staff yelling "shut up" to the dogs. This would happen everytime I brought my pup in and pick her up. I decided to give Calvin's place a try after reading mixed reviews. I picked my dog up after a 2 night stay and the staff said she did great. Once we got home, I realized that both of my dog's elbows were skinned. I understand that things can happen when dogs play, but it's concerning that they didn't mention her elbows when I picked her up. Our boy loves Calvin's Place and Robert! We tried another daycare before Calvin's Place that was not good to our male German Shepherd at all. They would crate him constantly for being too energetic. When they would let him out of the crate, he had so much energy that he would play too rough and would regularly come home with bloody wounds on his body. They seemed to think this was fine, but I wanted to see what else was out there. As soon as we switched to Calvin's Place, it has been such a change. They have only had to crate him 1 time in 6 months and he rarely comes home with play wounds. Robert knows dogs and the personalities of different dog breeds, which makes him ideal for running a daycare. Our boy LOVES Robert. Sometimes when we drop our dog off, he runs between Robert's legs, which he only does to people he adores. Robert knows how dogs communicate and I am so comfortable leaving my boy at his daycare. My dog Diezel absolutely loves coming here. I can't even say the word "daycare" without him freaking out and yelping loudly the entire car ride there. I only bring him for a few hours a week when it's raining outside and we can't go to the park to see his friends because he loves to play with other dogs. It's great for socialization skills because he's kind of a neurotic little chihuahua lol. The people here are super friendly and all the dogs I see there look happy. He's never gotten sick or hurt and he's always very well behaved after I bring him. I can always tell when it's time to bring him because he gets super grumpy and grouchy and barks a lot if he has to stay in the house for too long without playing with other dogs. Prices are great, I can say that about Calvins's place. Reeked of urine and they don't allow anyone past the reception area. I've never boarded my dog in a place that does not allow me to see the accommodations. They don't require reservations, that's nice but does that mean they have no limit on the number of dogs they take in? Is there an outdoor area with dirt or grass? I personally do not want my dog to learn to eliminate on hard surfaces like floors or concrete. I'd really hoped to love this place due to the proximity to my home but I chose a different place despite the cost being double. I've brought my dog here twice, both times last minute. They have always been incredibly accommodating. It's completely affordable and you can really tell the owner and the people he employs love animals. First of all, the dogs aren't crated unless specified to do so. My dog runs and plays so much that when he comes home all he does is SLEEP, and I have a very active dog. Secondly, the place is so clean. Some places I've gone to have that immediate animal stench. Here, all I smell is cleanliness without an overwhelming chemical smell. Thirdly, they have cameras that are operational 24hrs a day and accesible by a mobile device so I can check in on my little guy. Lastly, this place is run by an incredibly nice man. I've been having trouble with the activity level of my dog and we talked about things I can do differently, different training options, etc. None of which included any type of sales pitch, which I genuinely appreciate. Since both my husband and I work my dog is home alone all day, but I'm going to start taking him in once a week and hopefully that will help with his activity level. We've had the best experience with boarding our fosterpup at calvins place! I was a little nervous about the free range day care option since our girl was a blind senior pup. She did so well with the other dogs and when we picked her up she was casually strolling around the place! She was also freshly bathed. This place is the absolute best. I recommend them to anyone who's looking for a place to board their dog. First of all, it's a non-kennel environment, which is great for our dog who's never been kennel-trained. There's a smaller room for more "timid" and small dogs, and a big, open room for the larger dogs. Second of all, it's incredibly affordable. It's $15 if they spend the day there, and $20 of they stay the night. We dropped him off Saturday at 6 AM and picked him up Sunday at 2 PM. $20! And they have him a bath! He still doesn't smell amazing because he was playing with a ton of slobbery dogs all day, but they didn't charge us extra! Best of all, our dog comes home to us completely tuckered out because he's been playing. It's a very positive experience for our dog. We bring our German Shepherd puppy, Huxlie, here all the time for overnight boarding. She LOVES it. She yelps with excitement whenever we approach the facility! They are extremely flexible with pick up and drop of times and also accommodate same day drop ins, they'll even give her a bath for $10.00 extra! So I checked his legs and I noticed multiple pus throughout his leg and also on his belly big pus was coming out. Immediately I took him to urgent care and Vet said he got skin infection. He got antibiotic injection and some subcutaneous fluid. He never has been sick or any health issue. First of all, Robert is such a good-natured owner and his staff make a great team, always friendly, attentive and caring. The service and care they give our dogs have always been consistently excellent. Their prices are also the most affordable in the area. We tried a few other places when we first moved here some years ago but Calvin's turned out to the best and also the cheapest, to our surprise to be honest. This is why I came to the conclusion that the owner is a good-natured man. First of all, our interactions with him have always been very pleasant. Secondly, he runs a nice doggy daycare and offers good services at such affordable prices.. I mean, if he wants to, he could definitely charge more but he doesn't. What does that say about the man? That he loves dogs and he wants to give dog owners a break! For us we get discounts for multiple dogs (we have 4). They also do military discount. I don't really have a negative feedback... maybe before the renovation, I could've said that the front desk area had been a bit tight and had a strong odor but now, after the renovation, it's a lot more spacious and smells so clean. My dog went in perfectly happy and healthy to be boarded for 2 days. I thought, what's the worst that can happen? I got my dog back depressed, with an eye infection, covered from head to toe in dry urine. I also heard the handlers yelling very harshly at the pups. I then had to take him to the emergency vet because he completely stopped eating and drinking water.Very expensive mistake on my part. I came here to scope out the place to see if I would feel comfortable leaving my cats here for a week. I agree with other review that the place smelled bad. The interior was in bad shape, so they definitely aren't using any of their budget to maintain the place. But worst of all the staff would not let me see where the cats are kept.
