Shaggy Shack Pet Resort returned my severely arthritic, disabled dog to me smelling of pee, a…read moresticky underbelly from laying in her pee, raw spots on her elbows, an elbow with dried blood, inflammation and swelling of both her elbows so severe that it shook with each step my dog would take, and pee on her food container. I put my dog into boarding August 17-21, 2023 with Shaggy Shack; Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. My dog has a muscle dystrophy disorder that effects anywhere in her body that has collagen. At less than 2 years old, she has severe arthritis in her elbows. I let Shaggy Shack know of her disorder prior to leaving her with them. I even wrote a note and taped it to her food container. I spoke with 2 workers, 1 manager, and then finally the owner. None of the stories matched with the others. When I spoke with Tonya, the owner, I explained how I received my dog and that her inflammation could only be that severe if she was not given her medication. Tonya said "the girls could have missed some medications, we're not perfect." I asked for a refund, to which she said "we won't be administering a refund because that would be admitting we did something wrong." My dog was returned to me with dried blood and sticky from pee, how is that right? I have no answers I'm satisfied with, only multiple stories of what may or may not have happened to my disabled dog. At this point, I paid to have her be grossly neglected. Tonya provided a med sheet 4 days later to try to claim they gave my dog her medication, even though my hydrotherapist (who I had look over my dog for other injuries) agreed her condition could've only been that bad if she had not received her medication. Tonya shifted the blame to me, saying "You chose to bring her to a highly stimulated setting instead of staying home with your handicapped pup." I trusted Shaggy Shack to care for my dog as if she were your own, as the website claims the business would do. I will not make that error again and suggest others not to as well. Do better.

I would highly recommend though. I like our home spot, but his one has something very special about it. Bernard loves playing with dogs, but when its raining at our normal spot he ends up sitting inside with some outside time and not a lot of dog socialization... or at least that is my guess. When he comes home on rainy days he is not all that tired. In fact he seems like he just hung around all day instead of playing. The first time we took him to Shaggy Shack it was raining and I thought he was going to come home not tired at all. Oh man was I wrong. He was knocked out and it was in a way that leads me to believe not only does he get to play with dogs, but he has moments of thinky time or play time with humans. I cant say for sure, but I love how he comes back those days. Clearly wore out from a day of fun. I really like this place but unfortunately its a bit of a drive to do daycare daily especially when we have an on base option right next to my wife's work. I will say though they are definitely going to be our go to for boarding. The one major downside to our normal spot is there are no options for drop off pick up on Sundays. A lot of our trip or time where we need to board is Just saturday evening. This gives us the opportunity to board and pick up when we return and not have to board an extra night. In addition we had a last minute boarding need when I was too lazy to get boarding scheduled at our normal spot and it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend this place. Its not on base so anyone can use. The place is huge. Staff knowledgable and friendly and overall I have nothing but positives about here. I wish their location was closer, but thats not a negative, just a desire to make my life easier.

The lady doing the grooming was soaked to the skin, which told me that my animal would be held and reassured while being bathed. The kennel areas are clean and well lit. The dogs were just coming in from outside for lunch/rest time. The kennel tech was bringing them in and talking to the dogs as she brought each one in. It was very warm outside and the temperature in the kennel was cool but not cold. I was impressed with the many different play areas for the dogs. The pool areas looked inviting for a pup wanting a wet romp on a warm day. I was impressed by the V.I.P. room where older dogs needing a calm area could relax, have a snack a watch tv. This business has all you need to pamper your pet. I highly recommend checking it out

I have taken my pup here on and off consistently over the last 2 years. I have often have had to take breaks from this place due to various incidents. Bites missing patches of hair, and my dog often being extremely hungry and thirsty when returning from there as if he hasn't eaten or had anything to drink at all. Most recently I came to pick up my pup, not knowing they have changed the hours again ( as they often due to lack of employees) to find that my dog was in alone in "isolation" after being attacked and bitten by another dog. A piece of my dogs ear had been bitten off, by what is obliviously a bigger dog, which whom he should have never been left alone with unattended. My pup is a loving, fun and playful 2year old Pug, without an a aggressive bone in his body. They did not notify me of the attack and injury! Although this was an EMERGENCY, in which they allow pick-up, they tried to hide the injury! When I requested to know the details of the injury, they could NOT tell me ANYTHING! They did not have any answer because they were not present when the injury occurred! They could not tell me what happened, or who the attacking dog was. (that would be necessary to know for future stays) but they are completely clueless because they don't watch over the dogs. You drop your pup off and they go in a cage, while the staff goes to stay in a separate area behind the building of where they store the dogs, or they leave! (which I have witnessed They DO NOT watch over the dogs to ensure that there are no incidents! They DO NOT have cameras monitoring your dog while in there care! They take zero preventative measures to ensure your animals safety, despite knowing the various kinds of dogs they keep in there facility. If injury occurs to your animal here; including death, they will tell you" well you signed a liability waiver and this is a open range facility". You will not be granted access to see the inhumane conditions in which they are not caring for your pet or it's well being! Because they are traitorous and beneath most loving pet owners standards. They did not offer any assistance with my $360 vet bill despite my dog permanently having a fraction of his ear missing! They had no care or concern, and turned a blind eye to a loyal customers. Never returned my phone care or showed any concern. The owner ROBERT GRAHAM refused to speak to me to avoid accountability and forced me to talk only to his employee who has no authority or can provide zero resolve. I take partial responsibility knowing the conditions of this place and taking him back despite the previous incidents which occurred in their care that they had no care or concern about! Just pay more and go to a reputable, dog sitter or day care! There are plenty of places! They didn't even bother trying to clean the wound with soap and water and applying antibiotics, they provided zero care! This place is DANGEROUS…read more We left our dogs here while we went on a road trip (Doberman and chihuahua mix) and we came back to two very sick dogs. Our Doberman had lost about 10 lbs and was completely out of it when we picked him up, would even look us in the eye. Our little guy had been bitten and it had become completely infected, so we had to take him to the vet to get it cleaned, the picture attached is the hole on his back from this. Even after filling out forms in their office at drop off, they still messed up our boarding. This place has been trusted with our baby, but now not feeling it.
